Flooded Spillway & Lake Fishing for as many species as possible (June Fishing Tournament ep. 10)

Every June, I enter into the Roughfish Multispecies Fishing Challenge. The goal it to catch as many different freshwater species of fish as you can in the month of June. Micro fish do not count. Only the fish that can grow to a weight of one pound or more when they are an adult. On this trip, I hit several spots to target walleye, white crappie, and white suckers. I went to a flooded spillway, a muddy lake, and a muddy river, using worms, leeches, and minnows to hopefully find and catch these fish species, but channel catfish kept ruining the party.

Thanks! It was some fun fishing! It's weird how I was getting disappointed about not catching a certain species. On any other time of the year, I would have been pumped with all the channel catfish and other fish I was catching.
Seems like the contest does that. I know I was getting tired of bluegills when I was trying to get LMB or green sunfish, even though I was enjoying having the consistent bites and action.
U should go to beaver dam next time they have a good amount of brown bullhead
You're putting up some great numbers for the competition, I haven't been out as much as I would have liked. Making a last ditch effort to catch a few more today. Good luck, hope you get in that top ten, but there's some fierce competitors.
I got up to the Wisconsin River this weekend, but the water was SO HIGH! I should have gone there way earlier in the month! I still caught some fish, though. The competition is super fierce this year!
Nice job on the cats this time around, even though you didn't need a catfish this time! I know of a couple of lakes with white crappie in them, though they're more rare than the more abundant black crappie.
All my spots that I tried for white crappie ended in failure! I think I need to invest in a nice fish finder to help me next year.
