Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticise or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed.
I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head.
When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus.
These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between.
My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished.
My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world.
The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war.
For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person.
I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought.
Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours.

Ren went years misdiagnosed with bi polar chronic fatigue syndrome they had him on meds for this that caused him to have psychosis from meds he also got PTSD too but not from meds he had recording deal with Sony why working on his album he got Sick and couldn't finish it so they parted ways he move back to Wales he would become bedridden for up 23 hours a day it would take years before he would get right diagnosis he has Lyme disease he went so long that he has Brain damage Organ damage Joint damage he been in Canada for 2 years getting treatment he has had to have IV 5 days a week they put this thing on his head that help open path ways in his brain he also has Mast cell activation syndrome he can only eat a few things because his body has Allergic reaction to just about everything he eats he take hand full meds 2 times a day Ren play guitar bass drum piano produces his own music mixes his own beats beatboxes sings and can rap

hello dears!! it is my understanding they were kicked out of this location, they roll with guerrla recording at a lot of times. i'm so happy ren is getting to perform at the secret garden party, it's been 5 yrs since he was able to do so. kathleen 🙃
@@louise11854 Yes, the landlord came by and kicked him out. Ren did not have permission to be there. Ren got four takes in and used one of them for the sound in the video.
All true! Ironically, he thought he had failed to produce a good video and was very disappointed, especially since he had to go to Canada for medical treatments soon after, and didn't have time to do any more takes. Little did he know....

Thank you for an excellent reaction! I like that you don't pause too much. Ren's lyrics always tell a story. If you are truly paying attention, you can't help but be absorbed into his songs. You know it's good when you just sat through a nine minute song, and it felt like it was only three minutes! If your subscribers truly want to see the gift this man possesses, watch "The Tale of Jenny and Screech and Violet's Tale" It's a trilogy that must be watched all together in that order. Also, "Money Game Part 3" is a masterpiece! From the lyrics, to the story telling, to the camera work, this one will blow your mind! And when you remember that he does these live, and with almost zero budget, it's even more mind-blowing - especially knowing they only had two days in that warehouse to put everything together and try and shoot it in just one take, is insane! Not to mention, Ren's piano playing at the beginning, is incredible - and he's self-taught! And if y'all truly want to watch an emotional masterpiece, watch "For Joe". Ren wrote it for his friend, Joe, who ended his own life by jumping from a bridge into the bay. It's so beautiful, and heart-wrenching all at the same time, you can't help but cry. I went back and watched your reaction to it a year ago, and you guys were pretty much silent through the entire song - which says a lot, because back then, you used to talk over the song. I'm so thankful you don't do that anymore - especially with Ren. He's is truly a creative genius! 💙

I have spina bifida which is two of my vertibreas are in a C shape instead of an O. I'm so lucky to be walking, even at 45. At 17, I thought I'd be in a wheelchair by now. But this song has given me motivation to try harder in doing stuff that is real hard on me

Lyme Disease is a bacterial infection. It is treatable with simple antibiotics for 2 weeks. However, in many cases, it can cause an underlying major infection that damages the nerves in the body, causing severe pain and neuropathy. I believe Ren's diagnosis is ME or myalgic encephalomyelitis or chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). In Ren's rap 'Seven Sins' he speaks to the almost insurmountable pain in his body, epsecially his legs. He is bedridden for over a year and on many ocassions considered suicide. He is with us today and much healthier and we are better for that.
Location was chosen by Ren for acoustics as well as appearance. Performance, art, music, truth and hope. "Bardcore" - that's Ren! Stick to the "interior" motivation rather than the fickle expectations from outside.

Not always a great idea to switch off the captions. Yes, they're clunky, but have seen a lot of US Reactors without, struggle and miss important ( to the story ) sections due to: 1) the density and complexity of his lyrics 2) his rapidfire speed of delivery & 3) just unfamiliarity with his English accent.. Also, when you pause, is helpful to step back 10 seconds to resume.

This song by Cody is good, he has a great voice, I love how it almost sounds emo. I wish he didn't force the accent so much. And yes it is commercial and follows a lot of standard pop melody but I like it I really do. And it's OK to sound poppy I'll still sing to it and listen to it occasionally. But it's not my particular preferred music but I've been a musician and multi instrumentalist for 24 years and I'm kind of a nerd about music. But I know he will go far especially here in Tennessee. How close are you to la jara? I've been there and alamosa on my way to Albuquerque for a month long road trip a few years back but I don't know how close or far away that is to Colorado springs or pueblo as you mentioned . I just know la jara was super high up in elevation lol and there was a alligator theme place I think called gator land there lol

Actually, no shade, he’s not a superstar yet. Never heard of him. Superstars are when ppl that don’t even listen to whatever genre your in, know your name. Keep grinding though, you can get there.
