    04 same color v6 with bullseye verbatim symptoms. From the idle surge, whining when accelerating & typical ps noise when deep turning -spot on. It began a few days ago but I’ve been hesitant to take it to a shop. The cods here will rip a chick off. F that S. So I’ve left it sat & binge watched how to & diy videos for theee days & praise be to glory 🙋‍♀️ your TH-cam contribution just saved my ass. Many thanks & to your grand ma as well.

    I got the 2002 model. If you lift the oil fill cap you see a timing chain under it .. I think it got coil overs shocks and spring that pretty good ..

    daughter has same year Mazda and as of last year her dad has worked on a lot of items himself bec every time we drove it to a mechanic, it was $700 fix. We are practicing on this one and have had very good luck with it. so far has 163K on it and is driving really well. Interested in viewing all the updates on your Tribute vids. Helpful and interesting. Do you still have car?

      That's great that he's been able to work on the car and save some money! That sounds like almost the exact same mileage as mine too, I think it was around 165 or so last I checked. I'm glad my videos are helpful, I try to mostly film the entire process and point out my own mistakes and things that gave me the most trouble as opposed to just a how-to. I have a whole playlist for the car, I ended up doing the rear motor mount, both valve covers and all 6 spark plugs, PCV valve, and a couple of other things to it before I was comfortable driving it to work and back.
      I actually traded in the car about 6 months ago for a newer car that I really wanted. I got the Tribute to where it was reliable enough to commute to work in, but there were so many issues like no A/C, power locks and windows going out, and the rough idle that I never completely solved, that it was just time for it to go. It sounds like yours is in better shape than mine was though!

      @emosh73 Sorry, I'm not sure why I didn't see your comments before. I don't have the car anymore, so I don't know how much help I can be. I also usually just figure things out as I go along, just by watching youtube videos and stuff, so really specific stuff I might not be able to help with either.
      That said, I seem to remember having an issue with the hatchback, where the latch wouldn't close right and would sometimes leave the door ajar light on. I think I fixed it by oiling the latch, but I'm not sure really what it could be for it not opening, it's hard to know without seeing it in person.

    Same thing with mine the power steering hose is leaking im sure smwe noise it's loud I top it off and then it leaks back to loud sound

    Just did the o2 sensors 2 of them looking for the 3 rd one up top of left side of engine can't find it

    Its a side ways ford motor the other 3 plugs our in back have to remove the top valve cover head to get to the other three

    I have the same one same color and all I have no power steering right now so I have to replace it :( how many miles does yours have?

      Hey Kevin, thanks for the comment! I had replied to the other comments on this video, but I changed the way my channel was connected to my gmail account, so it deleted all of my replies made before that point.
      As for the car, it's running pretty reliably so far. I did another video where I replaced the rear motor mount, and I'm doing another one soon for the front right motor mount. It still has a rough idle sometimes, has an exhaust leak (broken off exhaust stud), and a few other things that I mentioned in the motor mount video. There are lots of things I would like to get to in the future, but as a secondary vehicle, it works.

      Hey man; thanks. it's good that you can do most of your own work. How is it getting to stuff in the back firewall side of the motor? I looked another mini van where the guy had to drop the motor to get to something. my mechanic buddy has big hands:) thanks again

      It looks pretty tight back there. Although, I saw a video of someone taking off the exhaust manifold being able to get to it by taking off the alternator, some sort of plate on the bottom, the front right wheel, and disconnecting the tie rod (I think?). I'll have to take a more serious look at it if I decide to do it myself, but first I'll have to see about the feasibility of getting the broken off stud out. But man, dropping the engine to get to something? That's crazy!
