This album was the soundtrack to my life during a bittersweet divorce in 2004 and the beginning of a new life in a new city with a new love. Such beautiful melancholy to accompany the process of grief - sadness - forgiveness - appreciation - gratitude - expectation and hope.

    • @joshlaclair2569

I used to feel the same, but seeing it played live showed what a ridiculous drummer they have. With that said, #6 is still my jam. Like, the one song to be played at my funeral jam.

First time hearing this in about 20 years. I had it on an unmarked cd. Spent a snowy winter walking the streets of Portland Maine every night listening to this. I was living in a halfway house and I'd sneak out. You'd have to walk in the road, there was so much snow piled up on the sidewalks. I'd have the city to myself and wouldn't waste too much time wondering how I ended up in a house full of ex-cons with addiction issues. I liked rock bottom. Liked the feeling of firm bedrock under my feet.

Magic uplifting music that touch a soul so deeply that you can't even say what grasp you. 20 years and still have that beat deep inside me even if my memory isn't always straight. Thx guys.

I have this album (art) tattooed on my arm. And this November 1st, when Sigur Rós plays live again in The Netherlands, I'll celebrate just over 20 years of it being released (I bought the album that exact day, and listened to it twice right away) - and not to be too morbid (but hey, it's this album...) but the day they put me in the oven, my only real wish is to have this record played to anyone who's showing up 🙂

Hearing the majority of this album played mere feet in front of me at the brixton o2 academy the other night was simply a sublime and thrilling experience, from the gentle and haunting Vaka, to the playful and hopeful Samskeyti, to the powerful bass sound from Georg on e-bow, squelching manically along with Jonsis expertly bowed guitar playing, to that rapturous, thundering climax of Popplagið, a night that will stay with me for a very long time! Beautiful album, beautiful band, so much more powerful up close and personal!

Took some really good indica and B+ shrooms and went into sensory deprevation tank and put this album on replay on headphones and holy crap. Words cannot describe the feeling you have in that situation and it truly is an out of this world experience. Tears were flowing by the sheer awe how a living beings can create such beautiful piece of art such as this album. If any of you have chance to recreate what i did and are fans of "out of this world hedonism experience", I strongly recommend.

Why??? Because that is what we pay as humans to experience “love.” Giving someone a party of you and taking a part of them that will always be with both of you. The memories, the pain, the music...with every new love it still lives there. Inside you. I unfortunately know this all too well. Trust me, I understand the self torture.

Excellent in mute to taste good Chinese dishes in a comfortable and deliciously decorated restaurant! To listen in moderation of course, and respecting the usage distanciations 😌

Wow the last song made me dream of someone I liked and cared for to my mom who I hate. I fell asleep to I guess the song before and woke up to the last song. A mixture of love and hate. I do not know what he is singing about though.

No, io sento le fusa del mio gatto...che ora non c'e' piu' purtroppo. Ma me lo ricorda in modo impressionante quando insieme coccolati ascoltavamo questa musica e le sue fusa a tratti si univano alla musica. Meraviglioso❤
