I have a black CTX1300 deluxe. I remember when i first got the bike i almost lost my head on it it was so powerful. I went from 750 to 1300 and it is one of my best decisions to ever make. I’ve traveled to a lot of places and so far my furthest is Kansas City Missouri. I hope to take more long trips with it and hopefully I’ll meet more people who have a ctx1300

Such a beautiful bike. I had what was may have been the first one in the Chicago area, in black. I recently switched to a Rebel 1100 with DCT because I was having arthritis issues in my hands, and the CTX was getting to be a little heavy for me to handle. The CTX has a PERFECT seat. If it had DCT, I might still have it. But the new owner is happy with it.
Gorgeous bike! I am hoping to upgrade to a 1300 eventually. It's a toss-up, though, between the ST or the CTX. That Nelson-Rigg really is a nice bag. Thanks for sharing this video
@pholland8353 I believe that there are videos on TH-cam and how to fix it. You could take the battery cover off and glue a longer tab on it. I never did anything with it. Yes, I hated that problem on the bike. I hope you enjoy your bike, I regret selling mine. I'm waiting for the new ST 1300. When the dealership gets one in, I will by it. 😉
@@mars4508 I’ve had mine for about 3 weeks now. Inside it for a day and then it rained for a week. Then I went on vacation for a week and was able to get on it Sunday and for a good ride today. I’ll take it apart for sure at some point to find out what’s going on with it
Bought mine a couple of weeks ago from team winnebagoland and put in migrate and am getting 43 mpg so thanks for the tips about the high test fuel. So what was the cleaning product?
Meguiars hot rims wheel and tire cleaner. Amazon has it on sale for less then $7. I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR CTX1300, I would run some fuel cleaner though a tank of gas. I used sea foam about 5 ounce
Looking at a bike like this. Will a full face helmet fit inside the side bags? I hate carrying my helmet around with me when stopping somewhere during a ride.
These bikes look great. Im currently thinking of picking one up. Found a really good deal on a black 2014 deluxe that has the Corbin Seat with rear rack, Roxe Risers, aftermarket running/brake lights. and manual Cruise control. has 7k miles on it. I think if I pass on it I will regret it. Going to look at it tomorrow.
That sounds great, I think those bikes are excellent. I miss mine. If you don't mind asking how much are they asking. I paid $7200 I think. I haven't heard of any real problems, except the tire don't last more then about 10,000 miles
@@mars4508 they are asking $5k. I think with all the addons it makes it a good buy. Its been garage kept. I have also been looking at a pewter color 2005 goldwing with 45k miles a buddy has. the price is $5500. I like the idea of a much newer bike with the CTX but the Goldwing is a Goldwing if you know what I mean haha. Plus I know the owner well and he dealer maintains it. Knowing that you traded to a Goldwing. If you had to do it over, would you keep the CTX? Thanks for your response. BTW I ride year round here in new orleans and the roads are pure garbage, potholes galore.
Goldwing are expensive ha ha Too me that sounds like a great price. I over paid on my goldwing, but that doesn't worry me. I loved my ctx1300. But I always wanted a Goldwing so I can start doing longer rides and soon over night stays. The only thing I would've done differently would to just paid off my ctx1300 and kept it. It's not a fast bike. slightly faster than my cb500x 0-60 though after sixty if feels much faster. Cb500x is much better on backroads ctx 1300 is better on interstate better with passenger and no chain maintenance.
on other hand my cb500x has twice the range and better suspension. So far I prefer my ctx1300 for commuting to work on interstate and my cb500x for riding on my days off. though I prefer backroads on my days off.
@pholland8353 no, I never did. It's that plastic piece not being long enough to catch on to the fairing. Some people added a longer piece of plastic to get it to work. That's the only thing I didn't like about the bike. Have fun riding your bike.

2024 and I just bought one with only 1408 miles on it. Have you been able to fix where the battery cover lines up with fairing?

Sorry, for my comment. I thought you were talking about my goldwing. On big Red I just had the side saddlebags. And they where to small for a helmet.

I always wanted a Goldwing, I had a chance to buy one. So I sold it to buy a 2002 Goldwing. I really love that ctx1300.
