For fall I am going shopping in my closet. I have clothes from the 70ies and they are in style right now. It feels good when people compliment me on my outfits that are 50 years old and are of the best quality.
Skinny jeans are still popular and look great especially paired with the right jacket or sweater.

It’s nice to know that the “timeless” trends I invested in a couple of years ago always seem to come back around again, lending to that term “timeless”. I’m glad to have confirmation that I didn’t waste my money. I tried to be thoughtful about the materials, quality and source of the items in which I invested. I am getting into my late 40’s and still happy I can go from working outside in the garden to a nice dinner out without looking like a slob or looking too old and outdated. A lot of classics will always be in style! Can’t go wrong with those. I am also glad that some of the trends aren’t as wacky as some I’ve seen in recent years (I definitely don’t choose to participate in those because they’ll be so short lived and my money is not wisely spent on such things and one must be careful these days about the finances). I prefer to save up for a good quality timeless item that I can enjoy and use for many years over a multitude of cheap, poorly made items that I might only wear once or twice and have no idea where it came from and who made it. I really love locally made goods, well made from natural fibers. Those are ideal.

I enjoy hosiery. Patterned & colorful hosiery was big in the 60s & made a comeback in the 80s. I am not comfortable wearing shorter dresses with bare legs, so I love a fashion tight as an additional visual element. A plain black dress looks amazing dressed up with black lace tights. 👍

Wow! Enjoyed this video. I can't believe I'm so ahead of the trend with my thrifted red coat, which I've been loving wearing this chilly winter downunder. Am a huge fan of a cropped jacket of which I have several, and finally found a pair of cargo pants that look great on my petite hourglass. So many of these trends were worn in my dinosaur days, including power shoulder jackets in the workplace. Shoulder pads throw my hourglass off balance so I tend to avoid them, although found a gorgeous flowy lightweight coat in a thrift store recently with massive shoulder pads, which I removed to create a lovely relaxed outer layer I'll enjoy wearing this spring. I think I still have some amazing tights in my archive - to be worn under a dress or long jacket - not alone you understand.😊 Am going to replay this video because there are sure to be trends I can adopt right away for the rest of winter. Thanks for giving us a heads-up on the upcoming fall trends, even though we have about three more months of summer-like weather here in Phoenix, Arizona. I already have most of the trends including cargo pants, straight leg jeans, and a burgundy sweater. I have been wearing tights since the 1980's because I didn't like wearing hose when I wore suits in my previous career. I love wearing sneakers with trousers and a matching blazer. It has such a cool vibe to it. I look forward to seeing your Nordstrom haul.
We have about that much summer left here as well. It is hard to get into the groove and think about fall but the Nordstrom Sale definitely helps. When I worked retail, we had cashmere sweaters coming in during mid-July! Crazy! I can't wait to get the Nordstrom haul up for you all!

Hi Jamie. Yes, I think an Amazon video might be helpful. Not everyone has the budget to shop the Nordstroms sale, and for those who do not have a Nordstroms credit card, the pickens can be rather slim. I enjoy the videos where the you channels show alternatives to the pieces in the Nordstrom sale. No one should feel like the kid standing outside the candy store window who cannot partake and even I find the hype around this sale to be a bit over the top. I attribute it to summer fatigue.

I have a couple of pieces that are very subtly western. Like a white button shirt with just subtle stitching and some brass buttons with a Aztec style engraving on them that can be styled in a way that won’t scream rodeo. Also, if boots! I actually have a pair from Nisolo, the Dari boot, in Almond color that I think can look Western, and also be styled more moderately. I think it’s all about subtlety here to pull off these trends, and make them part of your wardrobe.
I am also really happy to see longer legged, wide leg pants now. For a while, it was all cropped wide leg, which was just so unflattering on everyone, even if they were very high waisted!
Tights are a lot of fun, I was huge on them in my early 20’s, but I grew up a little 😅. I’ll have to see how to style those for a more mature woman (30’s-40’s).
I’m so glad to see that I actually have many pieces that will be on trend this fall, that I have owned for quite some time now😂. I will be end of pregnancy this fall, so I’m looking for maternity options for my personal style and trends I like coming up, preferably second hand too.
And about the trenches, ladies, the thrift stores are covered in them in the fall months, and some very nice ones as well! All kinds of beautiful wool coats and cashmere too that people these days seem to consider too “fancy”. The thrift is amazing to find some beautiful pieces for much less!

I had a tailored suit dress in early 90s when I started my career. It came with a button down and traditionally neck tie!

I got my black coat last year and everyone is/ was asking me w here I got it. I’ve always thought that a black dress coat was a staple.

It doesn't affect everyone though, I have lived in Alaska (20+ years) and now live about 50 miles south of the Canadian border, and I love it. I think getting outside all the time, even when it is -20 helps me avoid SAD. If you are a sufferer I feel for you.

The suit/blazer dresses are way too short for a professional setting, in my opinion, and look trashy/cheap. So happy to find wide-leg trousers (classic and always elegant in my eyes) and jeans in the stores. I've never really liked reds, but the deep blue-reds are beautiful. I've always been a fan of black coats, and I've got a leather-trimmed woolish trench that is just gorgeous. I still have several swing jackets/blazers that I'd throw on without hesitation.
I am so excited to see more dramatic colors. I have hated every minute of the dull and dreary blah colors of the last few years. Beige makes me want to barf, I know it is loved, but truly, no love of mine. I love reds and jewel tone colors as a winter color analysis person those pure undiluted colors just look great with my skintones.

Just speaking for myself, but I would not be comfortable wearing a short (high thigh) sleeveless jacket dress to church or to the office. That is a hard no for me. Love the idea of a power suit trend, however. Sorry that I got rid of all my big-shoulder blazers just 5 years ago. I had so many beautiful wool ones, but after so many years of waiting, I figured they just were not going to come back into style. I was wrong. Regrets.
You will definitely have options in this style with a sleeve! The sleeveless version would be cute layered over a button up shirt!
I gained weight due to injuries and surgeries in the 90s, and just recently lost most of it and pulled my clothes out of storage. Big shoulders! Wide leg pants! Wool suits! Leather skirts, pants, and jackets! Yes!

I went to New York in the winter season this year, so like January, and all I saw were black puffer jackets/coats. They looked like government issued .

Haha! That is because NY is COLD in Jan, and no one is looking to freeze. Besides those puffer jackets being super warm, they are also very lightweight. So, especially when you live in a place like NYC where you tend to carry around whatever you have because most people either don't have a car or they only drive them to go outside the city, lightweight is of utmost importance.
Fashion designers don’t seem to understand that winter is COLD, and damp. Not everybody works in centrally heated offices.
What's with the extremely SHORT hemlines on dresses and skirts??? Are they trying to save money or what? There are those of us who are tall (5'11") who just don't want to wear things that short...and for certain, there's no way to let the hem out!!!
