I retired from the Army, infantry, after 28yrs and bought a small ranch 60 miles from the Texas - Mexico. I like the fact we are isolated, in some ways, in others, not so much. As you can guess we have had tons of problems with illegals over the last 6yrs. I have continually upgraded security around the house. Cameras, lighting, battery backup, concertina wire, steel doors, burglar bars, and an inner fence around the house where I have 4 rescue pit bulls. The outer fence is chain link and has concertina wire. It is the wife and me and we are not leaving. This is my Alamo. We will survive or we will not. We will not go quietly. Stay steady in preparing. Unless you are extremely wealthy, prepping is an ongoing, ever evolving process. Never quit, never surrender, never give in. Stay alert, stay alive.
Yes, yes, yes as a single person no family around so I have already done a lot of what you have done..live in a very urban area of. Cleveland Ohio… Things are getting crazier all the time. Neighbors are useless …hear no evil, see no evil, hear no evil mantra. Unless this is them them, then your there best friend. Keep up the info always looking for new ideas.
Yes you’re right! I’m not leaving either! If I have to I stay and fight! When I was still working I used go hunting for my vacation every year by myself in the winter! My wife and kids were jersey shore goers in the summer! We vacationed together in the summer and I by myself in the winters! Hunting trips! Now we are both retired and my hunting firearms are now our home protection! Kids are gone and it’s just the wife and I! I’d like to be retired without problems but who knows! Philadelphia is a dangerous place now! I own many long guns and pistols and will not hesitate to use them!
@@MichaelSisley-fw3xr I’m not going to let them push me out of my house! I’m married 40 years and I’ve raised my children here and we have lived here since we got married! I’ve paid 2 mortgages off one for the house and one for my children to go to school and college! My wife bought me my rifle for a wedding gift when we got back from the honeymoon! My wife and I are both retired postal workers! I’ve been a guy who loves guns all my life! But most are safe queens! But 4 are working guns now for home defense! A 30-06 , 12 gauge, a 357 magnum and a 9 mm Browning high power! If they come here it’s war!
Retired Army police and survival instructor here. Good overview identifying a lot of major areas of importance. Couple of things I'd like to add for the good of the group. 1. Assess your environment, identify areas of weakness (pretend you're one of "those peoples" and you want to target your house...how would you do it?) and then improve those areas. 2. It doesn't have to always be high tech. For example, a great way to secure a door that is cheap and easy to use is a door stopper. Place them next to the doors and "secure" them with painter's tape (so the dogs, robot vacuum don't move them...just enough tape to keep them from moving. If they kick the door in the stopper won't move. 3. Get solar motion lights for the perimeter of the house. Relatively cheap way to provide early warning / deterrence. Lastly and most important, it's super easy to let all this information overwhelm you. Don't try to do everything at once, make a plan and follow it. The plan is a living document so it will evolve over time along with priorities of effort.
leadership, leadership, leadership, organize your neighbors teach them how to make and follow a guard duty roster and responsibly use radios. your neighbors, friends and family are your greatest resources. A person on their own is just a supply dump for the bad guys.
For a long time, I have wondered why so much has been said about bugging out...Personally, if I have to fight for my life and the lives of those I love, it makes more sense to fight for my home rather than in a 200-mile-long traffic jam, out of gas and surrounded by desperate, armed strangers! Stay home! Secure the house, Fill the bathtub and sinks with cold water, Sleep in the daytime, stay alert at night, Leave the lights off and keep the noise to a minimum.... Think, before you act (But don't take too long) Decide well in advance what you are prepared to do if need be...Always keep your vehicle AT LEAST half full of fuel. the safest place to store fuel is in the fuel tank. Keep your water hoses hooked up with a quality nozzle firmly attached DO NOT send your pets outside to investigate...They make better early warning systems if they are kept inside and alive. If someone calls to you from outside do not answer...the less they know about your situation the better and they may just go somewhere else if they are uncertain...If you have firearms or wish to acquire them, a twelve Guage, Pump action shot gun with a few boxes of Number four shot and at least one or two boxes of Deer slugs will do everything you need to have happen...Never trust your life to a weapon you haven't tested at an established shooting range...Good luck and God bless...
I think bugging out is so popular because the majority of people live in highly populated areas where resources will dry up quickly. The smart ones live in rural areas where there is no need to bug out because you have everything you need around you.
Exactly, Perfectly put. Where are you going to bug out to ? The gangs, the highways will be clogged with broken down vehicles. Fight it out at home...👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
Living in a cold climate state, filling the tubs with water has just become standard practice for major storms, even if you have a generator, it's a great asset to have when power or fuel is out.
Early warning system, home protecter, pest control, companion; yeah they are very useful. Probably would be wise to keep dry dog food stockpiled as well
Yes, yes, and yes. Lay on dog food, dry and wet. (depends on what you feed). Dogs are early warning alarms. If my pups alert, all external lighting, goes on. Coyotes, mountain lions, and illegal aliens send them into orbit. I have woopie light and siren on the roof. It gets everything running and scurrying along.
I recently re-graveled my driveway and parking area, and made a circle drive while I was at it. Eventually gonna make a 2nd entrance/exit driveway. However, being at the end of a long gravel road has serious disadvantages, cause we have to bug-in at least a couple weeks every year when storms blow trees down across the road and knock down power lines. Around here, prepping is just a way of life and the prep supplies are used often.
One thing that a lot of people don't understand is that you need other people to survive. You need friendly neighbors, family, and others. You can't keep watch 24/7. So, you won't know what's going on in your area. You won't know who is who or what is what. Make sure you are good with the people who surround you because, in a time of crisis, you are going to need each other.
Well that’s not true at all. Messing up your rear differential is a lot better than getting a little hole in your radiator which isn’t going to happen anyway if you drive a truck.
Not leaving my house...It has everything I need to survive for months. Block walls, hurricane doors and windows, tons of food, ammo, security and shooters. Come if you want !!!. Won't turn out well !!!
Retired Marine and Civilian Police Officer. During my Marine Corps time i was a Artic and Desert Instructor as well as a ATFP Operator. As a Police Officer I learned a whole different set of skills. With what’s happening with the Venezuelan gangs taking over apartment buildings. I say talk to your neighbor and have a firearm for every able bodied adult.
As you have seen the videos whats happening in Colorado & Chicago well thats how they operate, in gangs, ive study the collapse of Venezuela, Argentina, ugoslavia, Bosnia. You must not think you are going to fight against these gangs alone. You must make bonds, plans, with family, neighbors, friends. Remember there is safety in numbers. Great video!
Great video! It puts me in mind of the old saying: just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean someone’s NOT out to get me! A home defense has got to be layered, especially in the country, such as where I live. First, you have electronic “trip wires” that alert you whenever anyone comes on your property, then cameras, smart plug lighting controlled by something like Alexa, and magnetic alarms on the doors and windows. You won’t stop a determined person, but you can slow him or them down so you can prepare to give them a proper reception. Love your channel! Keep up the good work!
I agree with what you say. Tint your windows, buy or me being a welder having access to plates, make body armor. Always have a 360 degree look around your house. Be safe.
I agree with all your suggestions. Great video. I would like to add a few things I have done to make my home harder to get into. First if you have a basement with windows invest in Glass Block windows. They are much harder to get thru than glass casement windows. Second most garage doors have the handle on a cord to disable the garage door opener. Many garage doors can be pushed in at the top allowing access to that rope making it easier to lift your garage door. I noticed in the video it showed you locking the back door with the dead bolt and the lock on the door handle. All someone has to do is break a pane of glass and reach in and unlock both those locks and walk right in. I have a dead bolt that uses a key on my backdoor that requires a key to open both inside and out. Keep the great videos coming.
I think it would be pretty terrifying living in a high-rise on the 20th floor and getting trapped when the chaos breaks out… listening to the bad guys get closer floor by floor…
I live in an apartment, but hopefully, I will be in a house before shtf. I definitely think the best point you made was not to let people know where you live. I think living out in the middle of nowhere where you are away from where shtf stuff is more likely to occur or that will be affected the worst. Say something happens and there is martial law, the heavily populated areas are going to be where they go first. The best way to deal with shtf is don't be where it's at.
Problem with that is bill gates and china buying up American land. As well as everybody and their mom wanting to live in the country or middle of nowhere with no skills to live like that or money to afford it. Remember the term hidden in plain sight.
Don’t worry too much about the apartment. It would obviously be better to have your own home. But an upside for me in an apartment is the complex is responsible to replace a window or something. I also have 2 windows, 1 back door, 1 front door and a glass sliding door. Both of my windows and my back door is completely boarded up. I put a sun reflector on the inside so no one can see in, then went to Home Depot and had 1 1/2 inch thick wood cut out for my 2 windows and back door. My front door is secure. I have the wood panels ready on standby for my sliding door. I will have to fix the holes when I move out from the screws but 🤷🏼♂️ I feel safe. Point I’m getting at is with an apartment they are responsible to fix damage & maintenance, a house it’s on you. I also know all my neighbors on my side of the building. The neighbor I’m closest to friend wise, her husband is in the Army. I always go out of my way to make our side look nice. I bought my own leaf blower and clean our area twice a week, I’ve helped some carry their groceries in, just very friendly. It helps they love my dog lol. I also have 2 signs, one inside my sliding door and one inside my back door that says - ATTENTION - property is protected by a pit bull, pit bull is protected by my gun. I also always have a sidearm on me. I occasionally walk my dog with my AR strapped to me. So don’t trip your in an apartment. Stock up, have a bug out bag and somewhere to go that’s local as a back up. But it helps if the people in your apartment like you, in my case I’m sure they think I’m crazy lol. Power in number though. Remember, if stuff hits the fan and people are running low on resources…. Be careful taking out your trash. Not just from an attack, but if you have trash, you have food 😉. Remember waste as well. If water goes out make sure you have a big plant pot filled with dirt and soil. If you can’t flush the toilet, pee in the plant pot, let nature do its thing. If you need to poop, have a bucket and cut a black trash bag and duck tape the bottom half midway in the bucket. Have another trash bag and put it in there. As if like a trash can. It needs to be a seal tight bucket. Poop in it, then seal it. Once it gets full you need to throw it away or bury it, all depends on what situation we’re planning for. Hope I’ve shared some useful info
I was in your situation too, not even a year ago. Luckily my wife and I worked on our credit and savings and got into a Rent-To-Own. Not ideal of course but in this economy, it was our leg up. Now we’re out of the downtown city and apartments. Living in a Suburb HOA sucks, again not ideal, but as you mentioned, sure as hell beats being the city, SHTF or not.
@2023DodgeRam yeah I'm decently stocked up on supplies, firearms, water, food and have great neighbors. I am on the 3rd floor wich is good and bad, nice to have high ground. I am a combat vet along with 3 of the other men in my building and we have similar thoughts when it comes to this. I just think in a real shtf situation if there is a group of people who know what they are doing our building is indefenseable sure we could fight some off but if they really know what they are doing we'll be fucked. Also in a martial law scenario where I live would be terrible.
Loved the video, great way to get people thinking and enough sound ideas to get the direction started. Appreciate your delivery and style, you got my subscription at life's too short to drink cheap bourbon, cheers to that brother. Thanks for sharing and stay safe
HARDEN YOUR HOME..Build usable / good looking window shutters.. Protection in weather , wind , bad actors.. Perhaps a inside shutter system... Takes some wall space , but all is a trade off.. Insulation in atick..Multiple heating/cooling options , multiple water options , fuels and food storage.. OH and the mini hardware store in your shed / cellar..CHEERS
DON'T have exterior doors with windows right next to the doorknob & deadbolt. Have an exterior door with a deadbolt & a peep hole on your bedroom. Being able to securely lock your bedroom makes it possible to keep loaded firearms within arm's reach of the bed, without worrying about kids getting to them. My kids are grown & I don't have any grandkids but, I'm ready for them when they come.
5:03 If you keep the interior lights off, they can't see in. And this includes turning off computer screens. Don't believe. Turn off you lights and walk outside (day or night). Can you see in?
You advised keeping blinds or curtains drawn, but you have no blinds or curtains on any window that I saw. I don't mean to be negative, but this just stood out. Also, the windows on your doors are inches from the lock. Anybody can put a thick cloth over one of those windows and hammer it, and you'll only hear glass falling. IF you're close by.
First of all, thank you so much for watching the video! I hope you subscribed. Second, I did say in the video that if you don’t have curtains or blinds to put up a sheet. And I didn’t think that was really necessary to do because the sheet has not hit the fan yet
I pull into my driveway because I have a sedan. Backing up would enable me to save the front of my car from being disabled in case I had to run into anything. If I had a big truck then I would probably back in. No amount of adrenaline would stop me from being able to drive in an emergency. Most of your other suggestions are pretty solid.
Just found your channel... No one is going to mess with you, Just living in Massachusetts, I had enough of that Crap State... Night lock makes some good stuff, had the blackout drop down shades Thanks for doing this, in Massachusetts no less
The main thing about the suburbs is that you have neighbors - talk to them. Nobody can hear trouble at your place if you are very far away from people. Neighbors in a suburb will hear break in attempts, screams, gunshots, etc. Become friends with your neighbors and then become allies. Manpower matters.
@@larryappel341 I had to move out of my childhood home because of evil neighbors, so I get you. My point is to work with what you have, and make friends with neighbors while you can, before things get crazy. Get to know them a bit better, gently feel them out on certain subjects. Find out who is a kindred spirit, who isn't, and who is an enemy. And don't be the low-hanging fruit.
If you live off-grid in an RV in the wilderness like I do, bugging out and bugging in is the same thing, as I already live in my EOTWAWKI area. I use the term area rather than location as my exact location changes every 14 days or less. I am able to quickly and easily move, taking my resources with me if my current location becomes compromised. I have spare Faraday caged electrical components, in addition to older, EMP hardened vehicles too. The best way to survive a shootout is not to be there. I like your gray man strategy. I too hide in plain sight in my 25 yr old unassuming motorhome and old car that appears to be not worth the trouble. I certainly don't appear to have anything worth risking your life for. The best home defense is not living in a dangerous or potentially dangerous place to begin with because you never know when the balloon will go up and you may not have time or ability to leave an urban or suburban location. Sure, you might be able to defend your position against a few thugs or gang members armed with handguns or other small arms. But you can't defend against a well-armed, determined military or para-military force of experienced soldiers equipped with heavy weapons, possibly even armor and air support. And if you are prevented from leaving, you will be compromised. This means you will lose your preparations and be herded into internment camps or worse. To live like this, you either must be able to work remotely, be retired or otherwise self-sustaining. You also must be serious and commit 100% to this lifestyle if there is even a small hope of success. This means having a dog, guns, and other preps, but don't put the cart before the horse. Take care of the big things first and the rest will all fall into place.
I at no point ever decided that bugging out would be a good idea for me and my family. My entire plan is built around staying right here in my house. It's the most comfortable place to be, and it is the most Fortified. I have long been an advocate of " A man's home is his castle" The easiest way to protect you and your family is to be in a familiar place, not with a box full of goodies and a tent in the pickup truck.
I’m retired and I now live with my wife in our south Philadelphia home! We have been living here for 40 years! We raised our children here and put both of them through school and college! They are both gone now living on their own! When t was a young man I used to hunt big game and small game! Now my hunting weapons are our home protection! We have Mexicans living on my block! So far I haven’t had any problems with them. But who knows what the future holds! Anyway I’m ready for them if they attempt to break into my home! It will not end well if they attempt a break in here! It’s a 00 buck and 30-06 meeting for them! I hopefully won’t have to deal with them! But if I do I’m ready!
Nobody should be able to break into your home unless they have a bulldozer. If you shoot one, the family is gonna sue you civilly. You won’t like what that entails legally. Buckshot spreads and a 30-06 over-penetrates big time. You clearly are devoid of the proper firearms for home defense.
I hear a lot of that talk.. hunting weapons are my security.. Lg caliber , scopes , varmint , pistols w/ red dots, camo , stealth , many , many rounds.. . Able to say hello from far away..Or up close.. Good for you..
Last month a transformer in my neighborhood blewup. I saw real quick that I couldn't see shit, until it was at my front door. Short of nightvision for long gun, the ability to illuminate was needed. The lights will attract criminals and bugs alike. A full wrap IIIA soft body armor would be a nice add to your chest carrier.
The reason some people back into their drive way is becuz if you hot wire a care, its much easier to steal it if its parked facing outwards Its a remanant practice from the 90s,
Good suggestions. I would like to add, you want to push a perimeter out from your house in Suburban, semi-rural, and rural areas. You might not be able to do this in urban areas. I know we all have our ideas of what SHTF is, but if we're dealing with marauders and desperate people roaming, do not let anyone get within 50 yards of your house, a 100 if possible. You don't want people touching your housing, or throwing moltov cocktails on your house. People are vindictive when they're desperate or working in a marauder team. If they can't have it, they may burn you out. If you're waiting until someone gets to your house before your security protocols are possible, it's my thought that it's too late. I doubt everyone would be a threat like this, but in that time it would have to be treated that way. Team up with your neighbors/group for a 24hr watch on rotation. Block entry if possible into your AQ. If you control who comes in, surprises can be negated at an early level. Hopefully some folks in your group have NODS/thermal. Good video, thanks for sharing.
Very well done. You brought up sevveral points that I had not thougt of. I live is a small city near the soughtern border. I carry or have a gun handy all day. We have people coming around doing surveys who suddenly need tro use a restroom. My wife would let them in, but I give them directions to the closest store or office that has a public restroom. lThe comment on bbacking in the car is very valid an soething that I did not think of.
Just some small add ons here that also fall into topics you touched on. Deny, make the means of your home hard to reach if possible. Deter, give the appearance of "nothing here to take." And Defend, have a plan to protect your family.
If you live in a home where they don't look out of place.., storm doors are the best way to defend exterior doors. Presuming you use the locks, they cannot be kicked in to enter the house, & they offer the opportunity to keep a barrier between you, & anyone outside - even w/ the main door open. Additionally.., just pulling on a locked storm door can be enough to let people in the house know there is someone @ the door.
I have come to except that buggin in is going to be our best plan. As such , being in a suburban area, you want to feel your neighbor's out and see if they have thought about this. I am glad that I grew up in a rural area because I have moved here with that mindset. In rural areas, you need to be a little more prepared than suburban people. I find most suburban residents dont even think about emergencies. Everything is available to them, and they really think that SHTF isn't going to happen. However, if you join your local gun club and get involved with your community, you will find those who are in the preparedness mind site. Once you do, have a cigar and fire pit night once a month and discuss the possibility. You will soon find yourself teaming up and planning for various scenarios. Great video! I will wait until I hear what you say about food and medical supplies before I comment on that. LOL. PS I just subscribed
Am I thinking right when it comes to bugging out,,,,, Where am I bugging too,,, someone else's place,,, leave most of my food behind?,, leave my comfort zone for an unknow... I think the best plan is to stay put,,,, fight to the end if need be,
Overall, some great ideas for people just beginning to get into preparedness. Keep them coming. I'd say you missed the most important part of all; building a team. Getting to know your neighbors and who will be dependable and who will be a detriment or threat ahead of time is key. There is no way your are going to survive long sitting on a mountain of MREs, ammo and guns all by yourself. The time to build bonds with your neighbors and/or community is well before the crap hist the fan. Include your neighbors/friends/family in your planning. Know who and what roles you will provided for each other. Oh, by the way, get rid of those nine panel glass doors. You know, the one with the 6x6" glass pane right next to the turn style dead bolt you installed....
Thank you. Yeah the neighbor thing is a great idea. I’ll be doing a video on that shortly. And for the door.. my wife wanted it so it’s not going anywhere 😂
Your door cannot be secured except by nailing a board (or several) across it (if it opens in) because it’s a glass door so not secure at all. They break one pane of window and unlock it from the inside.
@@The_Outdoorsman Apparently I am not certain what you define as a door brace. But if a bad guy can easily knock out the glass pane right next to your front doors locks; how would a door brace stop a bad guy from quickly walking in? I would think a solid block heavy wood (or metal) door with only a peep hole to see out would be much better security than a glass door. Even with protective glass film, it will easily come apart in only a few seconds.
I define a door brace just like the dictionary does lol. As far as the door goes Id refer you to my wife, you can tell her to swap the door for a solid metal one.
just discovered your channel. Awesome stuff. common sense with humor. wish I had somebody like you to train with and live nearby. That would be a great asset. i’m trying to improve that situation
I always back in all parking spaces everywhere I am allowed to. I back my SUV into my garage and it is VERY helpful to unload the massive amounts of bacon related groceries I unload IN PRIVATE. None of my neighbors need to know that I have more than one package of bacon! I greatly value my privacy when it comes to tasty bacon!
If the SHTF and we need to shelter in place and defend the homestead from all angles against human threats, what is the best way to apply and cure gel coat?
I was surprised by the lack of large scale and long term civil unrest this summer. I guess we will see what happens Wednesday November 6. Besides that we are fairly well equipped and living in small town almost middle of nowhere. There's a lot to loot before you get to our town. Our plan is to stay in small town. In small local disasters we've had our chain saw out to assist, or lent out our small generator to keep food fresh and frozen. We've contributed to getting the neighborhood to do some prepping, rototilling, giving away some of our saplings, and such. But as far as neighbors knowing if we are preppers, they see our gardens, our fruit trees, berry bushes and grape vine. They've seen us go to the range, they've even gone to the range with us, or I've even stored one neighbor's guns in our safe for a time. They also see me walk the dog through town daily, roughly a thousand miles a year. The town, this town is one of the reasons there's more guns than people in America. There's probably more centerfire guns in town than people, and probably a thousand rounds per gun on the average. There's just four roads in and out, and lots of heavy equipment to block them. If I have to I've got 4k of centerfire rounds to trade to the local militia if required. I'd just ask that their kids help in our garden or split wood. We don't have the only garden or small orchard, and there's lots of chickens, in town and other farm animails outside of town. We've got a full range of professionals in town as well as trades, shops, grocery, banks, crafters and do it yourselfers. I feel pretty comfortable here. My parent's cellar door, decades ago dad sunk the inserts into the concrete and set threaded rod in there. It had a two by four bolt across the door that got upgraded to chain years later. One thing that a lot of people do not do around their home is clear trees that could shed branches or fall on the house, car, utility lines or outbuildings. While this can be expensive it is much less expensive than some alternatives.
Lots of people here mention neighbors. I’ll be doing a video soon about getting help from neighbors, and how that’s probably not going to work for 90% of the population.
Thank God I don't live in a hell hole like that. I consider myself well prepared. I know where all the fresh water springs are in my area, I know what edible plants grow around here and I know I can walk 30km carrying 20kg most importantly, I know no one is going to barge into my house , there's no reason to. I don't live in a factionalised hell scape
I live on the edge of city have chicken wire ready for Windows flood lights including battery operated case power goes out trip wires ready to set thats all ima say can't give all the secrets
i buy batteries Portable cook stoves oil lamps and oil and i have strong flash lights and latterns and pack up canned meat and vegetables and other dry goods like the quick rice a pasta in the bag's and plenty of water and i prep plenty of weapons and stockpile ammo, and fortify your home the best you can and perimeter alarms.
Dogs also let robbers know that people are living in the home they might want to rob or live in after the owners are eliminated, desperate people to desperate things . Dogs mean they are being fed, meaning food is there, bad for the owners feeding them when SHTF. A dark home without noisy dogs, is a better defense from would be robbers and trespassers, better to surprise thief's with a loaded arm than them surprise you the home owner sheltering in place.
Two sides to that coin if u back in yes u can leave quickly but... if you pull your vehicle in and someone blocks u in u hit them when your backed in your car is screwed if you pull straight in u can ram there car with the back of your car/truck and less likely to hurt your car/truck where it wont run your right to though love the video thanks buddy just food for thought
Great video!!! You’re right on the milk comment. But more than anything you’re drinking the right beer. Banquet is the only way to go. I’m too skinny to drink a light beer. LoL
I’m a night operator with my prepping, I move my prepping products out of sight of the neighbors. And when we go on vacation we leave at 0 dark 30 . And only my family knows we are gone out of town.
Common sense tactic to survival. Do what you can with what you can afford and what you have. Keep your circle of people small and know your neighbors and your community. People will come together in times of crisis and band together with Jesus guiding you thru it all. God Bless you all and stay vigilant! 💪🙏🏼
One more thing. If you own multiple firearms, spread them around your house. You don’t want to be in an area of your home that doesn’t have a firearm that is handy! Good video, but don’t use Christ name in vain.
Great video, my self I've prepared this way, communication 10 &11 meter ranger radio and ground plane, fire arms in common caliber, binoculars. and food and water. .
A tarned concrete hidden bunker with 2 extra ways out is better … a house can burn and collapse and be overrun… and alone you have noooo chance… better hide in bunker and observe the area with 360 degree hidden binoculars . 😎👍🔥🍀
Right! Super simple for most people to build a bunker!! But remember a bunker can be blown up. Remember that’s how they tried to “get” a prominent German chancellor, just with a pressure wave!
The problem with dogs is the perp can give them a few pieces of scrap steak while you're gone. A few times and your dog has a new best friend. My old friend was a professional B&E. He got 25 years because he was caught with millions worth. He hit hundreds of houses, his own father turned him in.
Get rid of those glass doors get solid doors , no blinds put car windows mirror tints on home windows as well as chicken wire on the outside of the windows tightly stretch to protect against stuff thrown at them, keep hidden arms on every level of the home as well as fire extinguishers🧯.
3M makes a security film that can be applied to windows on houses and in doors. It's a very strong plastic film, very difficult to penetrate. Yes the glass will break, but it will take a lot of work to get through the film which holds the broken pieces together. Gives you plenty of time to retaliate.
great video. i honestly believe the SHTF is coming. i have a small apt. one back door, one front. my front door has a screen door that is hard to open, plus a strong steel cable loop connected, another words, tough to open and gonna make a lot of noise. the backing in, i only have a motorcycle but good idea. and i have my protectors scattered in hidden places for such incidents. again, great tips.
I live in a condominium complex…..1st and 2nd floor units….and townhouses. Been here 15 years. It’s gated….but it’s not a fortress. In an SHTF/WROL scenario…..main priory would be to stop the bad element from even getting onto the property. Unless…..there’s already bad element living in here. Damn….Im already screwed. 😮
Good stuff, if you are in an urban area you will not get out and most people are so woke they don’t know how to defend themselves. When it happens don’t be a sucker. Cover yourself and family.
People overestimate their home security and the measures they are taking. They lock their front doors but have a plate glass window 3 feet from it… Motion Solar lighting is a basic first step. CCTV / NVR …nest ring ext is another. Cheaper Chinese cameras are also a good option if budget is a tight. Cactus, roses… other spine / thorny plants can be placed under windows. Shutters can be pre-installed. The American home is fairly limited in active security measures. Other parts of the world have walls, steel gates, spikes, steel bars across the windows ext.

Amazing tips!!
@@The_Outdoorsman Glad I could be of assistance. Keep up the good work.

leadership, leadership, leadership, organize your neighbors teach them how to make and follow a guard duty roster and responsibly use radios. your neighbors, friends and family are your greatest resources.
Why fill tub and sink with cold water ?
@@eurospeed4532drink, cook with, use to flush toilet. It’s in case power goes out you have water to use.
Living in a cold climate state, filling the tubs with water has just become standard practice for major storms, even if you have a generator, it's a great asset to have when power or fuel is out.
Dogs are a requirement when you live in the country.
Early warning system, home protecter, pest control, companion; yeah they are very useful. Probably would be wise to keep dry dog food stockpiled as well
Dogs are a requirement when you live anywhere! Not a better friend than a good dog!! Unconditional love and they never lie.
God sent one to our gate. We took him in and fixed him up. Now he guards the place like he owns it. Living rural.
I like the way you say "Dogs". They work great together, operating as a pack.
I pull in forward because if i have to ram my way out, the front you can tear up your radiator among other sensitive components.
If you pull in your driveway you can back out and push things out of your way without damaging your radiator.
Well that’s not true at all. Messing up your rear differential is a lot better than getting a little hole in your radiator which isn’t going to happen anyway if you drive a truck.

With what’s happening with the Venezuelan gangs taking over apartment buildings. I say talk to your neighbor and have a firearm for every able bodied adult.
That’s been going on for months.
It’s just weird that it’s being talked about now.
Those gangs are the scum crossing the border compliments of Biden
As you have seen the videos whats happening in Colorado & Chicago well thats how they operate, in gangs, ive study the collapse of Venezuela, Argentina, ugoslavia, Bosnia. You must not think you are going to fight against these gangs alone. You must make bonds, plans, with family, neighbors, friends. Remember there is safety in numbers.
Great video!
I have seen what’s going on there. Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for being a fan!!!
I agree with what you say. Tint your windows, buy or me being a welder having access to plates, make body armor. Always have a 360 degree look around your house. Be safe.
I also do a lot of welding. Aluminum mostly.
@@The_Outdoorsman Aluminum is fun to weld. I made T3 steel plates for my body vest. Maybe weighs an extra 12lbs.,but can stop a rifle round.
I agree
I live in an apartment, but hopefully, I will be in a house before shtf. I definitely think the best point you made was not to let people know where you live. I think living out in the middle of nowhere where you are away from where shtf stuff is more likely to occur or that will be affected the worst. Say something happens and there is martial law, the heavily populated areas are going to be where they go first. The best way to deal with shtf is don't be where it's at.
Agreed.

The main thing about the suburbs is that you have neighbors - talk to them. Nobody can hear trouble at your place if you are very far away from people. Neighbors in a suburb will hear break in attempts, screams, gunshots, etc. Become friends with your neighbors and then become allies. Manpower matters.
From personal experience, the downside of neighbors is they will also rat you out
Great answer!
I’ve never had an issue with a neighbor.
Entertaining video 💯
I like how you added in the alcohol nonchalantly 😆
Thanks. Everyone loves a good drink!
Not just Mexicans can try to go in...
@The Outdoorsman Living here in the south we have much more freedom than most,'''2A''',free to travel, etc.
The reason some people back into their drive way is becuz if you hot wire a care, its much easier to steal it if its parked facing outwards
Its a remanant practice from the 90s,
Good suggestions.

Excellent! Thank you. Make sure you watch parts two and three!
My cat silently alerts me to anyone passing by
Thankfully I live out in the country (even though I have neighbors) where I have my own water supply and ways of defending my home.
Security doors are a common thing here. They keep the bugs out, let fresh air in, and (if locked) unwanted people out.

Your door cannot be secured except by nailing a board (or several) across it (if it opens in) because it’s a glass door so not secure at all. They break one pane of window and unlock it from the inside.
This is true. Which is why I mentioned using a door brace. I believe they are much better than nailing a board across the door jam.
@@The_Outdoorsman
Apparently I am not certain what you define as a door brace.

I’m in the suburbs 25 min away from city. Only thing about being in rural is you’re probably alone and with less help from neighbors
Lots of people here mention neighbors. I’ll be doing a video soon about getting help from neighbors, and how that’s probably not going to work for 90% of the population.
Longer screws in the jamb or strike plate. LONG ONES will definitely help.
I pretty much agree with all that I saw and heard. Except, bye some REAL beer. 😂😂😂
I actually almost never drink beer. In fact that bottle just had water in it. Little movie magic 😉
@@The_Outdoorsman That’s what you get when you open a cold fresh one too. 🤪
Prep like you are about to get hit by a hurricane. Be ready to confront people. Secure the area outside your home.
Just added a puppy to my home defense, Belgium 4 month old natural guard dog, trining him .
A malinois?
Yes
Now the whole world knows 😂😂. Sounds like a good plan to me!
Thank you for your input.

I like your comments. This is great information, so keep it coming.
thanks for watching, please subscribe to the channel!!
Egress window wells are something you should address.
I should address it? What would you like to see?
@@The_Outdoorsman a good way to secure. I have been looking at building a spike plate . So if someone dropped in they would get foot injurys.
Common sense tactic to survival. Do what you can with what you can afford and what you have. Keep your circle of people small and know your neighbors and your community. People will come together in times of crisis and band together with Jesus guiding you thru it all. God Bless you all and stay vigilant! 💪🙏🏼
Talking about your dog's, i have a 110 lb pitbull,he doesn't bark, he's more attack and kill type of dog
Great
GREAT INFO....LIKE IT
NEVER TURN ON THR LIGHTS DURING A BREAK IN AT NIGHT!! YOU KNOW YOUR HOUSE BETTER THAN THE THUG!!
Except I can already see in complete darkness
One more thing. If you own multiple firearms, spread them around your house. You don’t want to be in an area of your home that doesn’t have a firearm that is handy! Good video, but don’t use Christ name in vain.
Great video, my self I've prepared this way, communication 10 &11 meter ranger radio and ground plane, fire arms in common caliber, binoculars. and food and water. .
Make signs for your neighbors' houses: "NO DOGS, NO ALARMS, NO GUNS"
😂😂 that’s savage!!!
I love it!!!!
Lol😂 a bunker?!? I'll get right on that.
A bunker is every preppers dream but, the majority of us are LUCKY if we can afford to own a house.
Tried...
Good content, sir. Thank you.
Very good advice, and video.
I'm in NYC and right now, I will have to shelter in place.
Yes you will.
Train, train never quit training and learning
Dude!! Whole Milk just got you a new sub. lol.
Great ideas!!
Need much more information on how to deal with arson! No one talks about this, and it's my number one concern!
Explain? Arson as in I set your home alight or what?
I’m an Army veteran they come in my house they won’t walk out. My house is very secure and reinforced and a very protective pit
No bad comment........Great Video....Great info. Thank you for making these videos.
You’ll be alright as long as you’re prepared!! And it seems like you’ve put a lot of thought into this!!
I’m in an apartment and have everything I need 👍🏻
Good stuff, if you are in an urban area you will not get out and most people are so woke they don’t know how to defend themselves. When it happens don’t be a sucker. Cover yourself and family.
I did my city prep by getting TF out the city. lol
Answer to tip #2: CLAYMORES LOTS AND LOTS OF CLAYMORES!!😂
CLAYMORES rock.
An extension cord wired to your cars and plugged in ! ZAP !!!
Savage!!
People overestimate their home security and the measures they are taking. They lock their front doors but have a plate glass window 3 feet from it…
Motion Solar lighting is a basic first step.
Went to the Philippines three times and they literally had walls and broken glass around the top of them bars on all the windows .
Hey Bro, first time here , I’m 59 , n I’ve been preparing since I was 12 when I got my first Ruger 10-22 , n what a road it sent me down !! I even prepare for others !!! I don’t like to put my info out here, but my pew pews won’t go hungry , n either will I !!!💥💥🔫 from Commy Ct 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Armor. Bullets go both ways.
Armor? Like tank armor?
Picked up a 6' x 20' sheet of half inch hardened steel plate that was sitting next to a farmer's barn. Cut it into 3x3 panels.
Sand bags in specific spaces is foxy😊
I live in a very large apartment complex, but I know my area around me very well.
Best dam video I’ve seen in a long time!! Thank you 😎JD
