12-year-old set to graduate from Fullerton College

- On Saturday, the youngest person walking across the stage to accept their diploma during the commencement ceremony will be Clovis Hung, a 12-year-old wunderkind who will be graduating with five degrees. Rick Chambers reports for KTLA 5 News at 10, May 18, 2023.

I know when we hear things like this as a public we become curious I think that it is good to see a kid that is focused however I also inevitably think about how you only get to be a child once as as many of us adults know you never get to go back to that in this life so I am praying that the young man also takes time to be a kid an upright one of course but a kid non the less. Mom seems supportive and not forceful but dad was not shown and I get the feeling that he may be harder on the kid I hope I am wrong but mom definitely seems supportive and not forceful on him to be a genius dad may be different

Graduating with five degrees in three years? These must be the easiest degrees to get. You'd have to take 20+ classes just to get ONE degree at a real university. How can you possibly fit 100 classes in three years?
Likely obscure, quick degrees to pad his resume. Notice how the articles don’t mention what the 5 degrees are?
Many of the courses will overlap in fulfillment of a basic transfer. So for instance, you will have to take English Composition for all these base level associate's degrees.

You need to understand this one simple thing we live in a BS society that they don’t let you take college class until 18 years of age. Unless you can do duel enrollment I also have an ADT in MATH. there are a lot of people with AS or AA degree it’s not even hard the hard part is letting a 12 year old take class that early. Everyone I know take class at a community college for 5 years at least.
A community college IS a college. It just provides coursework to fulfill lower division requirements. And there is no restriction by age: you can take classes there at any age. I started Computer Programming at Santa Monica Community College at age 9. And took Chemistry, Math, Spanish, Art, Creative Writing all throughout my teens--just for fun--as I simultaneously did high school.
@@swicheroo1 the restrictions is that you need to be a duel enrollment as you said in the last part of your message. These days it is harder to do.

I noticed none of the articles reveal just exactly what the 5 degrees are. Either they are BS degrees to pad his resume or I really have to question the strength of a Fullerton degree. This reeks of parents buying publicity for their kid. Maybe for his college applications to a real university.
