Hmm... thanks for this, helps to see the full comparison. Ive seen some talk that 30mm scale works better, or printing the horse at regular scale and the rider at 90%.
GW still says they are heroic 28mm but there has been scale creep for decades. Their newer sculpts are still heroic proportioned but are much closer to 32mm.
You can check my video with the pegasus knights to see 28mm Highlands comparted with GW. Overall their heads and hands are just so much smaller they don't look good side by side.
@@MTHMiniatures cheers. Unfortunately I don’t at present have a 3d printer. Just one more quest if you don’t mind, do you know if a GW knight would fit on a 32mm HM horse?
@@smallworldgames yeah. It will fit, but look a bit awkward because there is no back to the Highlands saddle and the GW legs are built to accommodate and be hidden by one.
Apologies. I generally do put the print scale of the minis in the video, but forgot this time. As for why I only did 32mm scale, for the Pegasus knights video the 28mm was way off so I didn’t feel the need to pay for it again.
@@MTHMiniatures That's funny because to me the 32mm is the one that looks way off. It's simply oversized. I would love to see knights side by side at 28mm especially, because the knights are easier to compare. The GW pegasus was way higher up and in a different body orientation in the video so it's harder to tell than the knights.
This sort of stuff is a massive community service, thank you!

Glad it was helpful!
I've printed most of my highlands stuff at 90 or 94% and got very good matches in terms of size
This correct answer, scale doesn't matter when you 3d print
@@MrKieras666 it does when you mix and match creators and manufacturers.
Highland Miniatures are stunning and they look good in 28mm too and are a joy to paint
This is the comparison we needed.
Thank you
Really loving this Bretonnian focused content!
Pratically, being 3D prints, the best option would be a light downsizing of them, to match GW's (heroic) 28mm.
GW still says they are heroic 28mm but there has been scale creep for decades. Their newer sculpts are still heroic proportioned but are much closer to 32mm.
Isn't there an option with Highland Miniatures to have the figure in 28mm? It would be interesting comparing both the 28mm figures

I think 87% is a good rep for 28mm also a good resin and printer can make the difference
So would you recommend 32mm? Is 28mm too small?
Personally? Yes. I’d recommend 32mm over 28mm. But the perfect size is probably between them if you have the luxury of printing yourself.

Not necessary as you just print to size
I don't understand how you could make a scale comparison video and not include other scales

@@Jee-o7i Yeap 32mm is way off GW and most other miniature brands.Probably 30mm is the sweet spot
