I love that Martha's "flirting" voice is actually Karen Gillen talking like Nebula.
And Gillen was also a Doctor Who companion.

I was so hesitant about this movie. I love the original and I didn't want them to mess it up. But I love that it's not a "remake", it's more like un updated sequel. The casting is perfect. Such a fun movie.
Exactly. When I heard about it I was extremely apprehensive and preparing myself to not like it. But changing it up by making it a video game and making it work with the lore really let them tell this story in a new way without either the old one or the new ones being inconsistent with each other. Even down to the detail of being returned to the world at the moment you left it with Alex now being an adult with a family by the time he met the kids IRL. Just like Alan in the original.
Yea they made a smart choice by completely changing the concept and more doing an action comedy. Also instead going into the game rather then doing a repeat of the previous is nice way to let its be its own thing for the most part.
Plus the call back to the original was good by mentioning Alan and that they were in the house he built in Jumanji
All the cast did such a great job as kids stuck in the bodies of adults, and Jack Black was scary priceless as Bethany/Shelly. Love it!
Also, a friend of mine once referred to this as "Breakfast Club, with a twist." I didn't understand why until I saw it. 😀
I swear I LOVE Jack Black in both these Jumanji movies. Next level acting and he's TOO DAMN FUNNY 😂😂
Glad you liked this one! I was skeptical at first too. I really loved the one with Robin Williams. Pleasant surprise, huh? The four actors portrayed the teenagers brilliantly! A favorite part for me was watching the Rock saying, "Don't cry! Don't cry! Don't cry!" FYI, Principal filming was in Hawaii. Loved your video!

The non-CGI and non-sound stage jungle scenes were filmed in Hawaii, The waterfall is on the big island of Hilo. The sound stage was at Atlanta Metro Studios in Union City, Georgia, and the home exteriors and high school were all in Atlanta. The dance fighting scene outside the barn were most likely shot in Santa Clarita, CA on a 400 acre property set largely for filming westerns.

Saw this with my parents on New Year's Day 2017 on Blu Ray and we cracked up laughing! Loved it! Its the perfect Sequel to Robin Williams classic fantasy adventure film.

"Bethany, come look at my penis!" gets me every time. Because any cis guy saying that to a girl would go over very poorly but in this situation it just makes it so funny. Because it wasn't sexual and just so sincere out of amazement and she wanted to share the moment lol.

Lots of the on location was filmed in Hawaii, mostly Kualoa Ranch (same place as Godzilla, Kong, Jurassic Park, Avatar). Glad you enjoyed this movie, never saw you laugh so hand or so much before! Thank you and get ready for the next one!
Marta (aka Ruby Roundhouse) was played by Karen Gillan. She can also be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy, although she is under a lot of makeup.
And she also had the role of Amelia (Amy) Pond for several series on Doctor Who.

Fun Fact: At the end when the video game system is destroyed by the bowling ball. It is a Brunswick Rhino Bowling Ball. Fridge is killed by Rhinos in the game then he uses a Rhino to kill the game.
Jack Black was hilarious in these movies it made me realize how much I miss him. I think the second movie vis even better.
Fridge was my fave character, sure he was a jerk for a while but he was also pretty damn funny. Can't wait to see your reaction to the Jumanji The Next Level, it's one of my fave movies of all time.

Jumanji movies and Ghostbusters Afterlife are one of rare well actually sequels of older popular movies that are done great. I am usually skeptic toward that kind of movies but those ones are done reallly great and are worth watching.

Kazzy it was here in Oahu Hawaii! A friend of mine was a lead carpenter on set! I believe one scene was filmed Maui. And of course the beginning and end on main land. And it is this beautiful here!

I passed on this movie when it was in theatres years ago. I didn't think I would like the video game angle it was taking especially after enjoying the original with Robin Williams. Watching along with you has convinced me to give it a try. The parts you showed were funny and you seemed to be having a blast so I think I need to go watch the rest of the film.
I would definitely recommend giving it a watch. I didn't think it would be anywhere near as good as the original either when i first heard of it, but was pleasantly surprised once i did get around to watching it.

OK, if you liked that one you're going to love part 3, The Next Chapter. Danny Devito as the Rock and Kevin Hart is Danny Glover. Just as funny. These 4 movies had great writers.

I was worried to as a huge fan of Jumanji og. But they did great with these two new movies and had fun with it. Its obvious the writers and even the actors had a love for the original movie. And that really makes a difference.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a great movie. One of the most enjoyable movies I've ever watched. I met Karen Gillan (Ruby Roundhouse) in 2015.

And you cant forget Zathura that is also a Jumanji sequel. how, you may ask - The truth is, Zathura and Jumanji are indeed connected. Both movies are based on author Chris Van Allsburg's illustrated children's books of the same name, and Zathura picks up where Jumanji leaves off in the source material. In the Zathura book, Danny and Walter acquire the Jumanji board right after Judy and Peter beat the game. Danny isn't interested in it but discovers another game hiding underneath it: Zathura. In fact, the ending of the Jumanji book reveals that both sets of siblings are neighbors and even shows how Peter and Judy watch Danny and Walter take the game home. This narrative overlap is not present in either movie, but Zathura still used the connection from the source material to market itself as a sequel to the 1995 Jumanji movie. To this day, Zathura stands as an official part of the Jumanji franchise, albeit a very distant one that's widely regarded only as a "spiritual successor".
