Flew to Madeira 6 years ago for holiday, the approach to the airport was pretty intense. The pilot was banking left to right between the mountains, coolest landing I've ever witnessed.
I remember going to Madeira and the landing was pretty exciting to say the least. There was a huge back up of planes waiting to land, but because the airport is beside the sea, the wind was pretty strong; much stronger than usual. This meant that some airplanes were up for so long (waiting for the wind to die down) that they had to land on a neighbouring islands because their fuel was getting low. We managed to land on Funchal airport, but we were at like a 30-45 degree yaw angle. There was a round of applause at the end, to say the least. I actually managed to meet the pilot after the flight and he was happy to let me look around the cockpit and press a few switches. We needed up becoming good mates.
I accidentally failed both engines in a real sim at training many years ago. Made for some laughs after the fact. It taught me to slow down and verify I am really doing what needs to be done before doing it - like not cutting off the failed engine and not the sole operating engine.
I like that background music. It's pretty addictive and making my pants vibrate. Gonna post this vid on facebook to show people I don't like how cool I am by showing cool things you did. You are the greatest in funny flysim videos.

A buddy and I were tooling around in our flying club's C182 some years back (when we both could afford to rent club airplanes) and, on short final, the big fan in the front stopped turning. We glided in for a buttery-smooth landing without it - no problem. Turned out that he had moved the fuel selector to the OFF position instead of BOTH while going through the landing checklist. Nowadays, I'm mostly confined to flying FSX (with SP1) on a Windows XP laptop with a MS 8-button joystick. Unfortunately, I can't upgrade to the FSX expansion pack because the graphics card doesn't have the cajones to run it. I'd try installing on my "new" laptop, a W10 Pro machine, except I'm saving its cherry for FS2020, so that's a no-go. Anyway, thanks for about a million blowing-soda-out-my-nose spastic laughing fits. Well done, Captain. Cheers.

There is a full setup flight simulator in the Air museum in Delaware. They have two version, one for kids, and one for adults that has pedals and a full display of switches and warning lights and a large curved view like that one. Maybe if you stop by the east coast you will have to see it. Dover Air Force Base is also quite large since they are the east coast main base and send pilots off to other countries a lot. As a kid I watched C-17 Globemaster IIIs fly over my house practicing their take off and landing. And one time, I even heard a Sonic boom. I couldn't see the jet that did it but there was no doubt.
I was on a plane with Wi-Fi and I was listening to music when my friend said hey listen the annoucments I thought he was annoucing to check up on the cabin but then he says "Ladies and Gentlemen this is you're Captain speaking, we need you to stay calm and get into the brace position we are having engine failure with engine 2 and are coming in for emergency landing brace for impact" Then the cabin crew starts yelling "Brace! " then all u feel is the plane shake insainly and bounce than all the sudden silence you could hear the engines slowing shuttin off and everyone looks up and looks around like. "What just happened" We had to take a bus back to the terminals and walk all the way through the airport for our bags. Scariest moment of my life.

When you were white over white, I would have elected for a forward slip. Maintain the airspeed while sacrificing altitude. Especially on a tough approach. Wouldn’t want to come in too hot.

There is a full setup flight simulator in the Air museum in Delaware. They have two version, one for kids, and one for adults that has pedals and a full display of switches and warning lights and a large curved view like that one. Maybe if you stop by the east coast you will have to see it. Dover Air Force Base is also quite large since they are the east coast main base and send pilots off to other countries a lot. As a kid I watched C-17 Globemaster IIIs fly over my house practicing their take off and landing. And one time, I even heard a Sonic boom. I couldn't see the jet that did it but there was no doubt.

I was on a plane with Wi-Fi and I was listening to music when my friend said hey listen the annoucments I thought he was annoucing to check up on the cabin but then he says "Ladies and Gentlemen this is you're Captain speaking, we need you to stay calm and get into the brace position we are having engine failure with engine 2 and are coming in for emergency landing brace for impact" Then the cabin crew starts yelling "Brace! " then all u feel is the plane shake insainly and bounce than all the sudden silence you could hear the engines slowing shuttin off and everyone looks up and looks around like. "What just happened" We had to take a bus back to the terminals and walk all the way through the airport for our bags. Scariest moment of my life.

When you were white over white, I would have elected for a forward slip. Maintain the airspeed while sacrificing altitude. Especially on a tough approach. Wouldn’t want to come in too hot.
