My paternal grandfather’s family is from the same village in Zhongshan. It’s nice to hear the Shiqi Cantonese dialect.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Did you show him this video?
So cool to hear the same dialect. I miss shiqi.
Thanks so much for watching. I miss my hometown because it brought back so much childhood memories when life was MUCH simpler lol. Here is the tour of Yixianhu Park, where my parents used to take us all the time: th-cam.com/video/xgGGAtDqOdM/w-d-xo.html
@@Jay_Rule thanks for sharing. It's been awhile since I've gone back to visit. Been back only once but that's been along time ago.
I felt so at home when I visited. It was so fun hearing the same dialect again.
That looks like the house of former well-to-dos, definitely not poor, probably early 20th century merchants, it could definitely do with a cleaning so it can be restored to its former glory. That relic of a fridge was something else. I wish I'd owned a house like that.
Thanks so much for watching. Are you Chinese also???
@@Jay_Rule No, I just like China
We grew up in the same city and now have been in the states for years. Missed those memories. Subscribed to your channel. "Add Oil"!
Thanks so much for sharing. The elementary school my sister and I attended and where my dad taught art and ping pong is still there! Have you ever been back?
Holy shit it's surreal to hear the same dialect. It's weird cause we sound similar in voice.
LOL! I had so much fun returning to China for the very first time. How many times have you been back?
@@Jay_Rule Quite a few.. the last time was in Nov 2019, I'm from Australia, my mother's side of the family migrated. We still have extended family and my father's side living there it's a bit south from your place away from the city, it's called Huzhuacun
虎爪村.
Awesome! It brought back so many memories when I visited. I would love to visit Australia someday.
Thanks for sharing! It would've been interesting to have met with those kids you used to play with and see how they are.
Thanks for watching. We have no idea where our neighbors went.
Wow very cool
Thanks for watching. I have many more videos from my China vacation.
delicious Lean meat porridge, rice roll.
That used to be the living room of my grandmother's house
Didnt know you grow up in China.. so cool you can go back and revisit childhood memories
Yep, came to the US as a kid and not knowing any English other than the alphabet, men, women and where is the restroom lol.
Sometimes it hurts going back and seeing all the changes.
I was more than happy to see how modern China has become. There was no sadness.
