    I appreciate this video greatly. I was born there but I hardly recognize the town anymore.

    I always thought it Zhongshan's architecture to be so unique. It's so obvious that westerners were there just from looking at the buildings. Thanks again for a great video! love seeing Zhongshan

    The buildings & churches in this older area recall history of colonial trading period. Canton (Guangzhou) & Hong Kong were the trading centres and Zhongshan Shiqi a peripheral town due to its location. Looks like it remains in the same relative status. Guangzhou & HK are tier-1 world class cities, with money spread out around them.

    This reminds me of some of the older districts of Shanghai. Great vid!

      In early 20th century, Zhongshan natives dominated some industries in Shanghai, such as department stores, movie making and brokerages for British firms. Many of those old buildings in Zhongshan were actually built by natives who had been thrived in Shanghai. And they might just copied blueprints of their own grand villas in Shanghai to save money and impressed homies at the same time.

    I born in zongshan 中山石岐local people speak local language ,pronunciation similar cantonese very inserting
