    It would seem to me that if you put a small hole in the roof and injected adhesive in the area that's lifting then used a small patch this could save thousands in having to replace the entire roof, this is the information we need. Not take it to the dealership and have an RV tech look at it that's a standard non-descriptive answer. RV techs are minimally trained, not like an ASE Auto Mechanic or an A&P that works on aircraft, RV techs just have experance working on Rv's over time many have no certifcaion to speak of.

    I have a series of bubbles that run from side to side. At what point is repair necessary? What is the remedy or repair for a TPO roof?

    Switched out a broken skylight on 2014 forest river toy hauler, the area around the opening has some wrinkles now as well as some golf ball size bubbles. I think, just from working so hard to remove all the old adhesive I stretched the rubber out, thanks for the tips, thought about poking a hole in one but then how would you ever get enough adhesive in the holes to hold it back down again, it would just become more mess I think, I can live with some bubbles.

    Being sarcastic - Do you have any idea how much it costs to have an RV Tech to come out and fix your 6 inch bubble. Or how
    much and how long to take to a dealer to have it fixed. I opened this youtube video as it says what to about bubbles on a rubber rv roof, the answer again is to have a professional pick it. Title should be - any issues call the experts.

    what does a RV Tech do that I could not do myself to eliminate a bubble when it becomes to large. If he can fix a bigger bubble why Could I not fix a smaller one before it gets too big.

      "have a technician look at it" Is a no-response answer. I was thinking the same thing as you. I didn't click this video to be told to get an "expert".

    Let a Professional fix it??? If I had my Montana repaired by an RV Tech at every issue I would have to sell my house to pay for repairs. I think the advice could have been more forth coming.

    I layed alot off rubber roofs and a little trick I do when I get a bubble is I use straight gasoline! It helps shrink small to medium bubbles and it works but I'm all ears to anyone else that has any tricks

    i re-sealed my roof right and the joint section, next day (after light rain), i saw pockets of air right at 2 front corners. I thought it was sealed well but that looks scary to me, could not understand where the leak came from. I should have taken off the trim and inspect the internal structure before resealing it but too late now.

    Can you re surface a rubber roof? If so what is the best product?

    • @idsullymichaels
      @idsullymichaels ปีที่แล้ว

      the problem here is that a resurface does nothing to get to the adhesive underneath - it can still bubble up.

    rubber roofs are garbage, never had one that didn;t leak, will never own another coach with one.

      I agree they are not a great product but easy to install, cheap & fast for the manufacture of the RV that's about it.

    • @recordingmastering
      @recordingmastering 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure either. We have a TPO roof bubble and the problem is not the TPO itself. It's the incompetent installers at the factory that did not run a bead of caulking under the air conditioning gasket as called for in the air conditioning manual. As water slowly, slowly wicks under the gasket, then theTPO, it rots the Luan and then de laminates. Nothing will stick to wet, rotten Luan so you cannot inject anything or "fix" anything. Good to watch AZ EXpert on youtube. He fixes every kind of roof/RV problem imaginable.
