    Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    *Solid, **Fastly.Cool** and gets the job done. For rooms where window-mounted air conditioning is not an option, this works very well. Easy set up, rapid cooling, and great design.*

    You mentioned Murphy's Oil Soap so I used it to clean my rubber roof. It worked really well, mind blown! Thank you for the tips.

    Hmm... so you soak the roof, wash it... then rinse it and THEN you seal in that moisture with a patch? Is there NOT enough water in there to worry about?

  • @TheChertman47
    @TheChertman47 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You need to round the corners on any roof patch. Also, instead of using a TPO or EPDM patch, reinforced fabric and caulk can solve the problem long term.

    Help! I have a newly purchased 2003 motorhome. Someone has previously resealed it. I have areas where that reseal is coming up. I recaulked with rv roofing product and purchased some new roof reseal to apply but... what do I do about the areas that I am having some bubbles and loose old product. I have removed what I can but there are loose edges and it's impossible to know if everything that was loose has been removed. Is it safe to apply the roofing reseal over the old...possibly loose product?

    • @RVROOFINSTALL
      @RVROOFINSTALL 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You risk tearing the roofing if you try to remove. The plain truth is you could have 10 layers of Dicor and it will still leak. Dicor exploits people's ignorance to roof systems and charges rediculous amounts for the product. Do you caulk you windows on your house 3 to 4 times a year? Of course not. RV roofs are cheap as cheap comes. There are better products out there. Do NOT use silicone!!!!

    • @happycamper5193
      @happycamper5193 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RVROOFINSTALL so what are you saying when a roof needs to coat, replace roof? Or you saying there is a permanent fix at that point. I have seen RV armor I believe 5k for 40 foot 5th wheel life time warranty. Something of that nature?

    • @happycamper5193
      @happycamper5193 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reason I ask. I paided someone to coat mine. And it looks like crap. I think they done one coat. And I personally believe it is doing no purpose after 6 months. I am considering to recoat it my self.

  • @RogerSayers
    @RogerSayers 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Good video guys... However, I must say that I hate rubber roofs. I have a 36-foot fifth wheel with three slides and it has the rubber roof. IIf I had the money I'd pay someone to remove the rubber and replace it with tin. There are RV's from long past that has tin roofs and are still in perfect condition. And that's from being exposed to the sun and freezing weather. This rubber "Crap" is a waste of money. IMHO

      Completely agree... Somehow they have to come up with a better idea, I get no fiberglass roof as it weighs so much but something by now should have come to the market.

    What a bunch of clowns, Dicor Lap Sealant is the worst lap sealant on the market. Not one person can name a worse lap sealant. That should not be a maintenance item even in hot climates but people act like it's normal for it to crack or fail after 6-12 months then they put the same product that failed right back on.
