Seeing those random little bits of this playthrough in clips made me worried for her wellbeing, but she actually knows her way around the game so that's a relief.

@@fabi3790 I'd hazard a guess you take your time. 90% of people who hate Blighttown so much are of the "This section sucks, I'm gonna rush through it as fast as I can" and dont' make the connection that their rushing is what is killing them.
To be fair, it was worse on the original console release where the whole area ran at like 15 fps, but that's a non-issue for the remaster.
@@freedantheeternal I do not recommend taking your time in a poison swamp with low framerate.
@@doomed89 Rushing in that scenario is exactly why players die so often there. Ignoring the framerate issues (which no longer exist in Remastered anyway), the toxic blowdarters are placed and have accuracy designed to make the player panic, and when they panic, they rush, trying to get to the bonfire at the bottom as quickly as possible. And that's why they fall so often or get blindsided by other enemies and have to start from the top again.
As for the swamp itself, taking your time, moving from island to island, letting the poison meter decline, again, is far safer and less lethal than trying to rush and aggroing everything in your path. The never-ending mosquito spawn is what is designed to try to make you rush there, and again, rushing is punished if you don't know exactly where everything else is.
Filian took 11 painful tazings, but I feel _far more_ sympathy for whitedexfi having to censor a trillion flashbangs.
filian is evolving into numi, soon tazer streams will need another kind of censoring it seems

you think that was the worst part? Oh hell no, it was the fact that she played the game on KEYBOARD AND MOUSE! she didn't even use a controller.
She died less in the entire game without armor or using a shield (that much) than when I first torus daemon for the first time

I would like her to play Dragons dogma 1 (because it is made to die so you can reroll loot and sometimes hard monster just appears and kills you in a hit [though that may be because i always go first to BBI]) or any Staleker game on Master diff (as you can often die in one hit).

@@xxXXRAPXXxx try hardcore, mimic's will start using high exequy, and the minotaur loves to spam grab, and the ogre that freaking ogre.
@@ashwolf2006 If you are mk just lighting riposte (when fighting eliminators also use ice sword) and just bait rushes (eliminators are easier to bait than elder ogres). Sure you need good shield for this but at least you can do something not like those fucking mimics that have no tell, your pawns are braindead and if you are just alone then just use a wakestone (they made escapes from grabs too hard especially if like me you are playing on keyboard). Mimics are the worst addition they made as it incentivizes just ignoring chests and going for the ones you know are safe. A mob good in theory but made literal shit. As for harcore (i guess you mean one life) as rerolling loot is tied to death i don't see the point. It just means you will spend 50 times more time farming for what you need to do any real damage. A game needs to be just right to be permadeath viable (for me far cry 3 on master difficulty one life was awesome as you could die in like a hit or 2 but if you felt the jungle you could go through it all just fine though disabling music was required for me at least.).

Might just be my experience, but a quick note about the skull lantern: it’s actually a guaranteed drop if you kill ALL of the necromancers in the catacombs. I think people are so used to rushing the area that they miss one of them and assume that the lantern is a lucky drop (which it admittedly is otherwise), but I have never missed the lantern myself because I make sure I kill all of the necromancers.
Also, nice job on the run! I consider myself a DS1 veteran and I think you actually did better with your build than I do when I play normally!
Why do you even need this lantern if it's easier to buy a light spell? it does not require a hand and costs the minimum cost of character characteristics. For casual passing, that's the thing.
You get a skull lantern if you let Patches kick you anyways. Or you can just get a sunlight maggot if you save Solaire.

Okay, I'm mostly here for the goofs and the memes, but... respect, Filian. I'm fairly certain it takes me longer to get to Blighttown than 19:30, and I've probably died well over a hundred times in Dark Souls and never made it to the first boss.
This is skill, and it was wonderful.
