    You are an excellent teacher. I would like more clarity how to increase rows in the beginning in order to create that pattern of lines.

    Beautiful tutorial, thank you! A tip from someone else who was sewing a rope basket: if you tape the piping where you intend to cut it and cut in the middle of the scotch taped cord it will not fray :)

    I am in the midst of making this now. I found her directions very easy to follow as I’ve made other baskets and rugs with this increase pattern. I searched thru all the comments looking for how much piping to use but couldn’t find any specific rule of thumb. I took a chance and bought 14 yards as that was all Joanns had in one piece. So far my basket is roughly 10” wide and I am pretty sure I’m going to run out of piping before I get a 6” high wall completed. I’m going to try to add on an additional piece of piping using both fabric glue and sewing. So I’m guesstimating I’ll use around 18 yards total (or thereabouts) of piping. I really want to try to make the huge one and bought thicker piping on Amazon (that was pricy but I’ve found especially now it hard to get a large quantity at a local store). I’m hoping thicker piping will work up quicker. I’m still unclear on how to sew in the loose ends. I did pick up some clothesline too as it looked similar to the piping. I thought why not?😂 I looked at rope but not sure how the twisted fibers would work. Maybe okay? Love the look of these baskets!!

    • @EyeWYT
      @EyeWYT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another thing I found was when I pulled the piping as I started up the wall it didn’t work right for me. Could be that I put too much tension or it may be because of the tension of my stitches but it worked way better when i continued up the walls with the same amount of slack on the piping as I had on the bottom... This approach worked better for me.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. If I may make just a tiny bit of constructive "criticism"? I have very bad Tenitis in my ears (constant ringing). It's very hard to hear what you were saying in the beginning of the video because of the background music. It was not only hard to hear you over it (for me), but also it was very distracting. I hope you don't feel I'm being rude or ungrateful for the time and effort you put forth to produce this video... I do really appreciate your work!

    Hello, I just found your video and am so excited because this is what I have been looking for. I am fairly new and wanted a basket to put my new supplies and yarns in, however being new I don’t know how to do a magic circle and understand when, where to put the 2 increase stitch. Yours looked so uniform and neat. I looked on your video list and didn’t see a reference to it. If there is one would you direct me to it or if not could you break it down a little further in another video. Sorry, I hope that is not a pain for you, I just am not getting it. I really love how beautiful and functional these are and it is exactly what I would like so if you would be willing I would be so very grateful!!! Thank you so much for posting and teaching me/us. Great tutorial! Seems very versatile. Thinking about varying the material, maybe? I have some sisal rope that I think would make a good filling and also wondering what would happen if you used fabric strips as the filling? Something much floppier to be sure. Maybe good for trivets or bathmats?

    • @Marny5580
      @Marny5580 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bet pieces of fabric can be cut into strips and then included throughout the outside of the basket tied like a latch hook rug. Sort of like how fringe is made at the ends or edges of knit/crocheted scarves and shawls/triangles - and when using a tri-loom.

      You could use a needle and thread to sew the piping ends together, or even use a good fabric glue, but I think sewing them together would hold up better, especially if you carry something heavy in the basket 🙂

    What a great pattern! I made baskets using 3 strands of 4 weight yarn and they turned out beautifully but my hands are still very sore and it’s been months. I look forward to trying this, thank you for a great tutorial! I’ve subscribed!

      I just asked the same questions. I see she hasn't responded to you yet, but the video is 3 years old. I love her work! Hopefully, we get the answers, but I think we can move forward without them too. If you hadn't noticed, in the description, she's provided links to each product. Follow them and there you might find the answers you seek. Great video, right? Take care and best wishes to you 😊

    Lovely video! Do you use the piping core because it's lighter than rope?

    Ooh 13 stitches over 8; Fibonacci would be proud.

    WHOA! Beginner's? Crochet looks hard! 🥺 I got excited and thought I could make this. Nope!

      True. I’m not a beginner, but this does look a bit challenging. I need a written pattern. Is there one?

    Really great tutorial. My basket base always curls up and I've tried everything I can find online to stop that and nothing is helping. Anyone have pointers?
