  • How did one of the NBA's most wholesome friendships turn into a 10-year beef? The answer will probably shock you…especially for how petty it truly is.
But would you really expect anything different from Michael Jordan.

@@ND-OPS TBH Jordan also criticized Barkley on Oprah literally saying he doesnt know how to win. So facts or not Charles did feel that but didnt go ballistic on his a.s.
Jordan's ego is too big to handle an L and too fragile to hear it.
Life filled with victory in the NBA has made Jordan soft in order aspects of life.
If Jordan didnt berate barkley like that on oprah - I might have taken your side in this, but clearly he can dish it publicly but cant take it.

The problem with Michael Jordan, the executive, is that his mindset is the exact same mindset as Michael Jordan, the player. Whenever he failed to win titles during his time with the Bulls, it was largely because the team around him was talented or well-constructed enough, which, from the outside looking in, seems to have given him the belief that if he's involved in something that fails, it's never his fault. When he was with the Wizards and messed everything there, he was surprised when he got fired because he felt like he didn't do anything wrong. Michael Jordan has been a terrible basketball executive for longer than he was a great basketball player, but he refuses to change how he does things now because it's the same way of doing things that made him one of the greatest athletes of all time, so when Chuck critiqued him as an owner, Jordan took ot as an attack against him as a person and as a player as well

MJ is most definitely overly sensitive. But I'd imagine it's not just what Chuck said and that he went around saying it in the media that probably added to the severity of it. Chuck said himself he told Mike personally but that didn't cause the fallout, the later radio and TV stuff did. So I think it's slightly more complicated. Mike really does need to leave front office stuff alone though.

Or take a different route and have in your contract that you can’t talk about Michael Jordan and his ownership capabilities

It could of been said behind closed doors though. I see both sides. I think the public wants to see it resolved because when you see two of your idols with something great throw it away over something petty, it hurt them but it also hurts the fans. As a stupid huge fan of both of them, you share in their triumphs but you suffer in their hardships. 😢

I wouldn't want a friend like Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan's the G.O.A.T. when it comes to his time as a player. However, he's a petty person. He's shown that time and time again ever since he left the court. I've read enough "horror stories" from fans and people associated with him over the years to know how petty he can be. He probably should've taken Barkley's advice into consideration because he was a *terrible* owner during his 13-year tenure over the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets! 🤓➡️😒

I just heard Barkley talking about it in a few interviews recently, though they directly asked him about. He didn't just bring it up on his own. And I think part of the reason it's getting brought up more recently is because a lot of NBA guys have been publicly ending beefs recently. KG and Pierce made up with Ray Allen. Isiah made up with Magic. Jalen made up with Webber. Shaq and Kobe made up. KD and Draymond made up. Even saw that Malone and Isiah made up about Karl giving him an elbow that left him leaving covered in blood and getting 40 stitches. The only guys still out here still ckearly holding onto grudges seem to be MJ and Scottie.

I am sorry I dont have a filter sometime.
but MJ needs to forgive barkely. MJ did the same thing when he publicly commented on his sons relationship.
No one is going to be perfect when you put a micro phone in front of them 100,000 times. its not a big deal to say you are wrong. and Its not a big deal to forgive someone who is wrong.
