    Awesome build but i would say as a trike enthusiast that thing needs a significantly wider rear axle which will greatly increase stability at the cost of some traction. Alot of times you see guys with 250rs or 350xs put extended axles on for this same purpose. Idk when i see this bike from the rear the axle looks comically too small. Not hating, just my advice.

  • @MrTonyharrell

    I raced ATC250r’s back in the day. A trike is in its element when it’s sliding. You’re gonna need a wider axle to make it really fun. While you’re at it, port it and get a pipe on it. The reeds do not affect the powerband, porting does. Reeds affect how smoothly the powerband is applied. Honda never built a performance 80 or 125 3 wheeler.

      Tony Harrell would you have any advice to give me on my atc 200s I'm working on since you used to race

    • @IamBATMAN2024

      Yep all reeds do is make throttle more responsive and smooth!

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tony Harrell YUP-YUP-YUP!! ages ago (1980) I yanked the baffles from my stock KH500 (3cyl 2 stroke) then started cutting lengths of copper pipe to fit to the end caps to MAKE them into tuned pipes. a LOT of tinkering with a low pressure gauge stuck into a hole in the side of each reading back pressure through the powerband, trimming, going again... that and bigger carbs turned it into a little monster/sleeper, had to extend the swingarm 4" and drop the forks in the crown clamps an inch to level out (hello clip-on's). fun rice rocket.

    I grew up on a 1985 honda 200x that I still have, and my dad's 1985 Honda 350x, plus many others. Now I've been in the process of building a 2014 lifan 125 H/O with a 140 big bore trike. Much like this one but putting a spare 200x fork assembly / bars / brakes / tire on it. ( so it rides like a real 3 wheeler.)

    I understand what you mean about the dead low end. I've bought a few old bikes and a few new reed valves for some of them. Most people don't realise how sensitive and fussy some of the engines are and certain things make a massive difference. It's easy to see why some people made the comment saying it's a two stroke it's meant to have lively top end. These are the people that will buy and bike and get ripped off cus they think that's what it's like. I was one of them once. too young to know even half but thought it knew it all 😆. But guys like you can jump on a bike and know what's expected and how it should feel. That's an experienced rider. I bought a pit bike recently and In the pics it looked awesome and in person it's great I'll maybe do a vid sometime. Anyway when I rode it it didn't feel that quick compared to the sellers comments ( it's a 140cc ridden a fair amount so I know what to expect) turns out it's his first pit and he's bought loads of trick parts for it over some time( basically he doesn't have a clue)anyway it was in good condition so I payed and with half a day and some effort it's easily 10-15 mph faster than the day I bought it . didn't tune it just put the standard air filter back on it, the standard exhaust. And adjusted the chain tensioner now it's goes like a 140 not a 110. May end up a 140 trike thanks to these guys

    Redbeard, while we're on the whole trike topic get on Instagram and look up Honda atc it is a group page; then search through and you will find a sick Honda atc 70 powered by a cr80 motor, and for all the people out their hating on that they need to ride a trike to know the fun.

  • @modelnutty6503
    @modelnutty6503 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    hard to tell, did you get that rear axle in line with the original swing arm mount point?
    just less stress to the chain+sprockets that way with suspension movement. on the build video to me it looked a little too low. definite yes to lock washers and loctite, even better, tighten down castle nuts and drill in for cotter pins, that stuff DOES get hammered!

    I say it was a good trade. I know you said it was rebuilt before you got it but it sounds like it needs a set of rings or crank seals might be leaking a little air passed them. Do a compression test on it and see what you come up with. That's just my opinion

A few things I've noticed is that with it you have to make sure that the phone won't more or slip because it will throw off the g force reading and that sometimes the gps doesn't start as soon as you start the track so you have to wait a second or two. If you need just shoot me a message. Have a great day
