With a clear top you could put a little fish tank or a terrarium in the body, or display art or whatever. You coud make interchangeable modules that change out from the back. I was maybe joking at first but when you think about it... who has done this, for a contest or just to do it? Probably not many. With an opaque top you could still use the hollow space of the body for storage of strings, picks etc. (?) with an access cover on the back.

amazing build Ben, but my level of confidence is not high after seeing you heat the tune-a-matic and tail-piece post holders. Using heat and then pushing them into the acrylic can make the hole wider than what is needed, and therefore causing instability in the bridge.
Today it's Led Zeppelin, I recommend Remasters. Usually it's Pink Floyd. Sometimes Rolling Stones or even Hawkwind. Depends on what I listened to last.
I liked the idea of the wrap tail bridge..... I'm just wondering if it could be designed to be interchangeable so that you would have a choice of what bridge you would want to use 🤔.....there could be a clip in plate that you could fit that would cover the tail piece posts for easy access to change back if and when you wanted to 🤷......it would give it a different look every time you changed it 🤷......best of both world's and it would look like you have a slightly different guitar......why not have fun with your friends every time you change it as they scratch they're head's wondering what's going on 😁

I don't know why you released the build videos this way... it's like reading the last 2 pages of a novel... then reading from the start after finding out.... "Who done it?"
I suspect it's because the ggbo rules/deadline required a final build super-edit vid back at the end of November and maybe it wasn't possible for the editors to get the whole build series polished and published before that deadline. It is a bit anticlimactic - part of the fun of contemporaneous episodes is the interaction in the comments and Ben sometimes reading something that he incorporates into the build. This retrospective format loses some of that engagement. But "it is what it is"™
I think I WILL fight you in the comments for a change. Led Zeppelin got famous on other people's material without attribution. There are so many (generally black) American artists who ought to have been household names, but we hear their songs and think of Zeppelin instead. Add to that Robert Plant's lack of vocal control, which takes him from quirky to irritating for me. I can respect the role they played in the history of Rock 'n' Roll. It's possible that I'd be able to forgive, overlook, and acclimatize to more if I had fewer options, but I am grateful to have easy access to all that I do.
Question for Ben: Will the acrylic bow under string tension? Creating string height issues. Aleviate my concern please, I feel the acrylic will bow. Thanks for all your uploads Ben, love them. 👊🏻
@@natsterjam Thats true. Thin timber bends as well. The reason (as I understand it) it does not bend is that the force is not pulling straight up but more along its length. So the material is able to borrow strength from the material in front of, and behind it.

Step drills are better for drilling acrylic and are less likely to cause shattering because they don't pull on the plastic.

How bout an acrylic bridge on an acrylic structural bridge across the sides at 90 degrees to the top.

Would not the acrylic simply melt and form the exact fit required before cooling? Making the exact right size? Am I missing something?

Its quite thick so I think it will be OK. Acoustic guitars do OK with 2mm timber plus bracing.
@@cheapskate8656 Good point, I know that 10mm acrylic does bend though, maybe it won't be enough tension to make it bow.
