Great advice. I've been doing these 5 year plans for 20 years now and it really does work. If you're resolute enough it makes you save / sacrifice stuff to achieve your goal. Mine was a nice house in the countryside and comfortably well off. Got there 🙂 Now for the next 5 years...
Screening out worldly noise is essential for healthy thought patterns. My daily plans are what I focus on. But, you are right, were do I want to be or see myself in the distant future. By the way, I think/feel you are doing a fabulous job, helping to reduce mental blockages and increase new healthy cognative/neural pathways and new neural networks/networking flow patterns. So, thank you for that.
This makes sense, but what if I really don't seem to want anything anymore? I find the things we are "supposed" to want, like a new car, house, career, or a romantic relationship leave me totally uninspired. However, I am finding your videos very interesting. I haven't watched them all yet because I find them rather thought provoking, and I need to ponder what you said for a while before watching another one. Thanks for making them!
I'm really not sure about this one. Do we really need to think of where we want to be in 5 years in order to focus on today? Isn't it possible just to live in the moment and make the most of where we are now?
Well... if you commit to nothing, you'll be distracted by everything. To put it another way, you'll be outcompeted by those who choose something and focus on it.
Apologies - that reply was a bit frivolous, and I don't seem to have an option to delete it. I actually want you to keep yourself alive, and increase your enjoyment of life. Speaking to people who specialise in the cause of your despair would be a positive step. Maybe you could ask your doctor or the Samaritans for guidance on who to speak to.
