Good explanation of all steps necessary. I have to replace the pan on my 2018 because I ran over something that crushed it next to the drain plug. OEM pan costs about $400 so I'm looking around for used or Doorman brand.
Very interesting ! That wrinking you found on the oil pan is due to the deep draw in stamping. I'm surprised cummins would accept this, it's definitely a quality control issue.
Do not listen to this video his explanation is unsafe and steps are wrong is easy to pick the motor from the eye on top of the motor with a cherry picker or even a come along and you can pull the oil pan without removing the pick up tube don't have to remove the crank case vent UNSAFE MISINFORMATION

Good video thank you. What was to final price of this job. My 2018 6.7 2x2 is leaking. I think I have to start looking for quotes.
This video was very helpful, thanks.
Mine leaks front corner by the RTB. Great, so itll just be JB welded.

Yeah I have changed about 5 more oil pan gaskets since then and none of the other oil pans had wrinkles like this one did.
What year is the truck your working on?
What’s the torque on the small hardware pan gaskets?
Can you buy that bracket system to lift the motor?
Can you use an engine hoist over the top?
That’s how I do it. I don’t remove the oil pick up tube / screen either.
How much is this for labor?
My labor guide says anywhere from 7-9 hours to do the job
Using previous commenters hour range, most shops are 120/hour so about 960 for the job
4hrs I was quoted yesterday on my 2016 3500
@@cryptobuddha2600 4 hours is nutsss
4.5 hours quoted on my 2017-dealer
