I too don't get the hype around regine before, but when I heard her singing with the other divas (even the most promising ones), they get overpowered... Literally. Her voice is distinct amd powerful. Her technique is superb. Her confidence unmatched. Truly a queen. Indeed she is an icon.

Regine's version of Buwan in her Feb 16 concert at the Aranet coliceim was way much better. It received a never ending applause and cheers from the audince. It prooved that she's still the queen of all divas.
What Regine have is the courage to push and let go of herself and just perform with passion.
A lot of Singers/diva in the making in the Philippines are still scared to put their own stamp and signature because of fear of rejection.

The february 16 regine/vice concert, which i watched live, was her best version of this song. The coliseum was on fire and everyone was going crazy. Amazing as always.

Her voice doesnt crack because she has even more perfect pitch than mariah. It was explained by one of the vocal coaches that regines range is a "complete range". It means it doesnt skip a note in between octaves she is capable to reach. She can Literaly pick up a note from another octave and have it combined to multiples set of notes without having to inprovise(falsetto, whistles or head) to produce a seemed to be flwaless, not disconnected tone.

It was Mr. Ryan Cayabyab who said that. I saw one of his interview. He explained what is so extra ordinary on Regine’s voice.

I just have to highlight though, when you asked why a lot of people keeps on promoting her before. These were just her singing skills. We loved her at everything she does. Her acting skills has given her a title of a Block Buster Queen for Movies and a Best Actress awards for TV.. she’s got a lot of good, good movies and TV series every year man. She’s truly loved. She just rested a lil while on it when she gave birth to Nate and she said she doesn’t like to do ‘drama’ anymore but she’s more into comedy. regine always has the X-factor that separates others and that's why she is a legend in the philippines although she lost her past higher vocal range but still able to recover her versatility and experience.
Before in every singing competitions once the judges hears even a small cracked or cracking of voice your losed already ... thats how regine was trained .. pure and full voice at the heights of belting ... She was the undisputed champion of all singing contest there is in and out of the country.. no comparison. .
Regine's voice did cracked. I watched one of her performance from one of the vloggers here. It's alright coz Regine is not a 20 year-old lady. Our voice Changes as we grow older.and she can still belt at 48 years old. But She's still one of of my favorite.♥️👌🙂

I understand what you are trying to say Ovela. I’ve been a fan of Regine since I was 9yo and the way I described it is that Regine’s voice always gives you a TOTAL EXPERIENCE. Regine does not need those big explosive acts on stage, all she needs is a piano, a microphone and a spotlight. And if you just close your eyes at those moments when she hits the high notes you’ll always feel as if you are flying or like riding a roller coaster! Its a GIFT, one thing that cannot be learned or just simply immitated by the others.
