You know guys we cant please everyone, just sarah had problem with her voice due to demand of high notes that time on her weekly program. That is their business to react to what they say or hear. What i love Sarah is how she love her craft, she innovates, how she stays humble inspite of the respect and admiration she recieved. I love her attitude and how shes very well grounded. We all know best singer will arise. Sarah been in the business for 15 yrs. She wouldnt reach that point if shes not "The Best". Shes been once a belter, she opened the door again to belt when she won the contest. This industry will give you so much pressure and still the PUBLIC will tell if you can stay up there or not... IM GLAD AND PROUD SARAH is still there people love her because of her ATTITUDE. Ive seen her perform after she won the contest till today she never change but her performance is fiercer than ever
Sarah was known to be a power belter when she was younger however as she grew older, she had to deal with a lot of projects altogether (films, tv series, concerts) she admitted her voice got affected, there was even a time when she was hospitalized due to over fatigue, after that she decided to limit her projects and do it one at a time because she dont want to lose her bread and butter - her voice. She still belts once in a while, if the performance calls for it but she totally reinvented herself to being a pop star. She had to change her technique as well, she is very careful now on not straining her voice unlike her younger years.

Regine has always been the standard of what a "good" singer is here in the Philippines where the gauge of how good you are is measured by how high you can sing. Although Sarah started as a "belter", she admitted that she really is not a belter. She slowly transitioned into her own kind of artist which we came to appreciate and respect. I can understand how you would prefer those who do high vocal acrobatics. I'm just saying that in a country full of "belters", Sarah is a rare gem who is brave enough to be her own artist despite the status quo. Cheers to you both! I hope you could react to more of her videos.
Haha! Regine was trying to show that sarah came from her womb - well, not literally. Sarah was Regine’s first protege in the music industry - hence, she is her first daughter. I agree tho with the inconsistency.. i don’t think sarah lost her voice because she can really sing high ( if u guys watch other clips of her younger days haha ). I think she’s just afraid to belt again since she has changed her lane/genre for a long term already. But technicality wise, she’s one of the most dynamic and great singers in the ph.

I like the honesty of the review.
I know all the songs and it did sound like they were singing the same one while in fact it was a medley of four songs written by different composers. I grew up hearing these songs sung by different Filipino artists. I think the arrangement was intentional however, it was quite long. It's hard to review a song you don't know and on a different language. I'd appreciate a different arrangement too if I was on that concert.
Sarah g may not be the best singer here in the philippines, shes no longer the power belter that we used to know. Her vocal range is not as wide as jona angeline mori kat and regines vocal range. But what really makes her shine the brightest among her co artist? It is simply her being true to himself. She knew that she already lost it, the pipe to power belt. She knew that shes not that good. But gives her all in every performance. In ASAP, corporate events and concerts. Shes not a belter coz she transform into a Total performer. Maybe not everyone will like but for us, we enjoy it so so much. Sarah will be sarah no matter what. She will remain the 3x Boxoffice Queen, the iconic movie queen along with susan roces, the Concert Queen, Top Endorser of more than 40 brands/company, the only Pinoy Artist who recieved 12 international awards and more than 200 local awards. Shes an icon already here in the philippines. I respect your comments. But i guess your not in the position to say that she is inconsistent. But again i do respect your comment. When you actually understand the lyrics of the songs, it's very emotional, and the way they performed it makes it even more emotional. I understand your comments but If you witness Sarah in all those years (almost 2 decades now) you'll understand why she is at the top of her game and seems like no one's gonna take her place at the moment despite having better singers/belters in the industry, Cuz she always performs from the heart. She's so humble, so kind, the purest, those 2 decades of being on top proved it all.
Believe me or not but she is not only well-known but is also well-loved by every generation and any part of the country.

Sarah always has this kind of different attack on the song that is why she is very unique among other singers here in the Philippines. She is the most versatile, very soulful and she always offer something new to her viewers and fans.
As you noticed, Philippines has a lot of power belters here, so singing with high notes are very common and became so typical (except for regine she's different too)..Thats what make her special here and became special to Regine.
Before Sarah came in to that stage, Regine introduced her as "Our Superstar", Sarah gained respect from someone as high as Regine here and reserved a spot for 2nd night just with her, different from the first night with talented singers in one number.
Again I respect your opinion and i know you have different perspective. I just want to give you some sights why she is not like any other artist here in the Philippines.
The reason why there’s always a debate and argument is because of the people who keeps on comparing. Can we just enjoy the performance of sarah and regine. My god, people should grow up.

I don't want to be negative but the used of word like 'inconsistent' makes me feel like you guys are saying that only belters are the good singers. Sarah has proved/earned her place in the music industry as the power belter that someday will succeed Regine's spot (fame wise). We all know that Sarah chose to be more versatile as she started having problems with her vocals but PLEASE understand that she belts sometimes when it is needed, she does not belt to every song because of her vocal issues but she always does her best and make sure that everybody enjoys those performances. Sarah has a special place in Regine's heart as she is her first protégé, even calling Sarah the child she never gave birth to but loves her like her own. So if you guys find it weird on why she got a duet with Regine it is because of that.

Sarah is there as a duet partner of Regine alone because she came way way before the birit queens. She came to the spotlight at age 14. She won the first singing competition that Regine hosted. She evolved before people’s eyes. Even her music evolved. People have seen good and bad performances. What she has is the charisma that some of the birit queens lack. She fills up stadiums like there’s no tomorrow and Not all as in NOT all Filipino artists can do that. She and Regine can both do that CONSISTENTLY: fill up stadiums with their numerous supporters :)
There was a history where Sarah was greatly bashed because people were telling that she was overpowering other singers (their idols) when she sings with them that is why she got to where she is now and plus she respects Regine so much that even Regine told the people that Sarah is her own child because Sarah actually has a powerful voice.

Yeah. It is true that they dont "lie" when they react but in order for their opinion, which they call "thoughts", to be reliable and valid, they should be technical about it. Reactions dont require technicalities but opinion does. There reactions are authentic but their opinions... i don't think i can agree to most of what they say. They prefer singers who raise their larynx to the heavens. Sarah is a mezzo. The fact that she's able to sing songs like these is already a feat.

Sarah is probably saving her voice for the last songs. Regine's voice is just too powerful and can last the whole day. To clarify sarah has many fans because she can, dance, act and she knows her way while being cute and sweetie. That sets her apart from other birit queen.

ICE 17 actually Regine only has a high voice. Sarah can get to that range but she mostly sticks to her natural range. Qualitywise Sarah has an edge. Regine camnot sing low. You hear her sing what supposedly low notes higher. The range of a persons voice doesnt in itself determine the quality of the voice. Sarah is not a pacute only. She is a serious talent. She won many singing competition. She was a singing champion. Not every singer can say that. She had won many amateur competitions. Im not sure if she even lost. Morrisette did lose as well as Angeline. As far as i know she won most if not all the contest she joined until she became professional. These two have no idea. I know Regine couldnt even get into a broadway musical. She can sing but her enunciation of words that are tailored for musical i dont think is very inpressive. I heard her sing broadway songs and it just lack the emotions. She can sing pop. But in theater quality is most important. You have to sing cleanly and clearly. The high belting isnt as important. People who are familiar with broadway musicals knows this. Thats why you really dont hear Regines high notes in musical plays. Its not just singing and impressing people with belting. In broadway, if you dont pronunce the words right and dont give the right projection, it wouldnt be interesting to watch. Because youre telling a story and people wouldnt know whats going on. Sarah has a great projection, and if you listen you uundertand and hear the lyrics clearly,. So does lea. (Actually hers is clear as a bell). Regine when she starts to belt or sings high, you can hardly tell what words shes singing. But again in my opinion this two only likes belting. So they think Regine is the best singer in the Philippines. Of course theyre wrong because most people look at sarah that way.

Regine is in LOVE with shoes and has a large collection of them. She doesn't care how uncomfortable or how painful they are, if they're beautiful she will wear it. I watched it on an interview about her shoe collection, her personality and spunk really come out. You guys should watch it!
oh at the end Regine was jokingly gesturing that she gave birth to Sarah (that she came out of her, that she is her child). That’s how proud Regine is of her because Sarah’s career started after she won in the singing show which Regine hosted around more than a decade ago. She was Sarah’s mentor early on.

Yeah, the concept of her R30 concert was about SONGBIRD. All her gowns during that concert have touch of feathers. That white gown with gold feather was my favorite. Love it!

Sarah also encountered vocal problems in late 2000 thats why she was repackaged to into a pop-dance artist. Not really a power belter nor a melismatic or above par legato singer. Her strength is her “image” good daughter, sweet smile, fierce dancing. A strong B lister but not capable to self manage her own career. Shes not on that level yet!
In PH, Shes more popular than Morisette, KZ, etc. She’s reached 1/3 of Regine albums/ concert per year when others cant reach a percent 😂 though, voice wise she needs to take the back seat. 😂 if she’s to have a comeback she should stop using playback. It only makes the “inconsistency” more obvious.
I don't think Sarah G was inconsistent. It's in her nature not to overpower someone else's concert. It's her conscious choice not to esp to her mentor/idol Regine.

There's a classic stereotyping by Filipinos that when someone can hit high notes, they'll consider that someone as the best of the best. That's why Sarah was put into that mold to be a "belter" but in her 15-yr career she changed style, matured and do what she thinks is best for her voice, thus she became a "performer" ala Beyonce of the Philippines if you say so.
But i won't hate you two, M and Ovela, because you don't know half of her story. And I very much understood why. You two are still awesome. Keep on reacting Sarah G! 😆
You will never understand Sarah because she's a superstar. She does everything from commercials to concerts to movies to mall tours to concert tours to coaching and the list goes on and on. Name it. She does them all. It's hard to maintain your voice with her hectic af schedule. And she isn't just a singer. She's a popstar and a total performer. From ballads to jazz to rnb to pop etc. Hell she can even rap. Her vocal range isn't that wide but her versatility is incomparable. Others can shout and all but they can't offer what Sarah can. She always has something new to showcase and that is the very reason why she still remains on top.

Sarah is not the best singer but the best person in the Philippines. That's the reason why she's famous here. Regine and Sarah is in like a mother and daughter relationship that's why they are comfortable with each other. We can't really explain why Sarah is Sarah in the Philippines.

I believe that each of us has our opinions and we should RESPECT that. We shouldn't force someone to like Sarah Geronimo by boasting her awards or making a poll to compare her to the other singers. Each singer has their strengths and that makes them unique among the others. I am a fan of Sarah Geronimo for 14 years and it's really fine for me to hear people criticize her way of singing. It's their opinion and each of us has our own preferences. Let's normalize hearing these people criticize Sarah G not the way we wanted. Sarah G herself doesn't even have to prove to everyone that she's the best. I love @Music Game News and I commend them for being so honest in the way they give comments towards Sarah's performances.
