The batman is a cinema Its been 2 and half years but pattinson portrayal still stays with me and i want to watch and be indulge into the character again and again. I agree that there should be a loneliness to Batman. Sure he’s got money, women, and cars but he’s not that guy he’s Batman. The toll it would take on the body, lack of sleep, constantly watching the effects a world like Gotham has on people, working through the injustice and not breaking.
In fact, this is why I and a lot of people want Robin to appear, and possibly depending how many films there are, more bar family. Recently, DC has put out some great bat family stories like that webtoon? And I feel like this sort of situation, where all these people who suffered or want to stop injustice, are able to create this family. Giving warmth to each other they may have lost or never had.
It's a good take on Batmans detective skills and his actual antisocial personality BUT Pattinson's Batman was written to be socially limited. A better portrayal would include the Bruce Wayne Playboy persona he wears. He is supposed to be trained in infiltrating and espionage at this point, or building covers, which Bruce Wayne is. Pattinson's Batman seems to be missing vital pieces of the character BUT the focus on Batman as a detective, finally, was great.

No way. Dude gives off zero masculine energy. He gives off emo early 2000’s angry at the divorce energy. Batman strikes fear into hard men, this guy is actually a great actor but he just isn’t able to strike that primal fear into another male that isn’t easily intimidated.

This Batman is on screen more than ever before and his silhouette is ripped from the comics with beautiful cinematography.
Riddler from this movie deserves his own origin movie. The guy did his job on 200%. Imo Heath Ledgers Joker wasn't as terrifying character as Riddler by Paul Dano.
I would disagree. Batman 2 from Nolan is pretty much carried by The Joker and his actions. It's cool, but the story that The Batman is telling is way more interesting. The Batman is a heavy set neo noir with two parallel character studies, with a clear development on the main character. The lead actor also provides a new perspective on the character. Definitely more personal and vulnerable. The direction, cinematography, symbolism, and script are superior. It's more inspired, focused, and passional. The only thing that's better in Batman 2 is Heath Ledger's acting, but that's obvious since the whole movie was basically about his character, and his character's personality is an Oscar bait... just like the Riddler in The Batman, but Batman 2 is way more focused on its main antagonist.
I have a controversial opinion about The Batman. I watched it on the release day in theatres. I was blown away from the start. This is not only the best superhero movie I've seen, but the best cinema experience I've had without a doubt. Not many people know this, but during the time it was showing in theatres, it held a 9.1 out of 10 rating from the feedback of it's early audience. It is actually a masterpiece. Christian Bale's Batman was a bit of a laughing stock and I can't take him seriously in the suit.
Man, the Batbale slander is insane. I don't see why one has to be put down for another to be propped up, both can be masterclass at the same time there's no rule or law against it.

Finally another issue i have is that those movies had basically no respect for the source material not even on the surface. Those may be great movies, but they are not great Batman movies.

I'm someone who has been a massive fan of Robert Pattinson for years, I had no doubts when he was cast, I actually remember when I saw Good Time in theaters in 2017, I remember after seeing it I thought to myself "he's gonna get comic book movie role" and he did, honestly I think The Batman is one of the most genuine canon, real Batman films we've had
I only saw Good Time recently, after hearing more of Benny Safdie’s name & coming across the movie on Cinemax....I was very impressed with the movie and particularly Pattinson’s acting, I never imagined he could play a role like that based on his “image” Which now lead me to watch The Batman in preparation for The Penguin on HBO, and man I really like him and will watch anything he is in now.
I grow up with Christian Bale's batman and the animations of batman. Now I understand it like an adult watching over and over again the character, also playing the games and so on. The best kick in was Pattinson's batman! The film hit hard man, seriously!
First time i saw Batman 2022, i really really like it (granted i was half asleep that day). Then i rewatched a week ago, and now i regard Batman 2022 as the best batman movie i ever seen and the most comic accurate in term of theme and spirit, the most realistic and dark comic movie, the best cinematography of the past 20 years, i can go on ... Batman was supposed to be the “World’s Greatest Detective”, yet he was always two or three steps behind Riddler. Even if this was “Year Two”, he’s supposed to be much better than that.
I think Batman is the perfect superhero for movies. He’s so normal that you don’t need to make the villains extremely powerful to make it realistic. Yet he still has the capability to defeat anyone. When I watch the flash for example, 90% of the scenes have me thinking “erm just run super fast why are you in a fist fight”
If I could add my 2 cents to the discussion one of the reasons people enjoy Batman stories is because at their heart their horror stories. While they have elements of the Super hero genre, the crime drama, the detective story their all taking place in a world firmly grounded in the horror genre. Batman's villains are all straight out of a horror movie. What their usually trying to do is straight out of a horror movie, What batman is and what he has to do to succeed is straight out of a horror movie, the ineptness and cluelessness of the established authorities is pure horror movie, and finally everyone's favorite visual depictions of Gotham usually involves a heavy dose of Gothic Horror tropes. Most good Batman stories are much more closely related to a (classic) vampire story than a super hero one. Just my take anyway.

That's because you had an honest response to what is junk of a movie, and gave in to the brainwashed crowd the second time around. I've seen it four times, and my opinion hasn't changed.
Or because he had to have details of the performances and plot points explicitly pointed out to him later because he didn’t catch them when the movie delivered them implicitly the first time around.
His Batman but really his Bruce Wayne is played like a ghost of a human being. That was the quality that I loved the most because it's a quality lifted straight from the comics. The melancholy. The stoicism. Batman is a human hero but he feels like a specter in the comics, a little closer to the Crow than the Punisher. There's a moment in Batman: Son of the Demon where after Bruce saves a kidnapped child and brings them to Gordon for safety, Gordon comments on the tragedy that the child's father had been murdered by the kidnappers. Bruce stares at the child when saying, "It's a terrible thing to lose a father." This moment was haunting in the comics because, one, the art, but also because the panel lingers. It's technically a betrayal of Bruce's identity but he can't hide who he is in this moment. His trauma makes him just as affected by the death. And lo and behold, they have that same moment in Reeves' The Batman when Pattinson stares at the child upon learning that he's gone through the same loss. Everybody comments on that moment from the film, but I wonder how many know that it's recreating something and very accurately so?
While this is cinematically 'subjective' I'm in agreement. However I think this is interpretation works is mainly that this is only year two of Batman's existence. Much like Clark Kent in MOS, he's still finding his feet aside from being a brilliant detective
The detective aspect of this movie is what made it my favorite out of all the Batman movies. I don't necessarily like Robert Pattinson as Batman, and much less so as Bruce, but I don't think he did a bad job either.

Nobody had to look far to find the Joker or Two-Face. They knew who Harvey was already and nobody seemed to care who the Joker was. Batman didn't spend his time looking for clues to anything and all the action pretty much came to him, even if indirectly. That's probably why there was no point in figuring out Joker's identity. He was always gonna put himself out in the open, they just had to be prepped to catch him when he did. In The Batman, the entire movie almost was spent trying to figure out who and where the Riddler was. Riddler never put himself out in the open to be caught and figuring out who he was became a necessity.

We are talking about 2 different characters here. The Batman is Batman, a detective. Nolan made a tril9gy of the Dark Knight. Yes both are called Batman but are 2 completely different creatures. Batman relies more on his detective skills and intelligence where as the Dark Knight relies more on his fighting skills, brute strength and fear tactics. Yes both use fear but one uses it more to confuse and as a fighting tactic were the other uses it for coercion and concealment. The Nolan trilogy is the best Dark Knight saga made so far. The Batman is the best Batman movie made so far.

I feel like this Batman feels like it wanted to be everything. But it kinda mastered none. It was an ehh movie there where a lot of problems with it especially the beginning.
Excellent video. You gave me a considerably greater and broader appreciation for the artistry of The Batman than I had before-well done! I must admit, though, that although The Batman is the better looking of the two films, it ultimately doesn’t possess quite the depth, the meat on the bone, that Nolan’s The Dark Knight does. But then, Nolan dared to utilize, for the Batman/Joker dynamic, a literary model no less ambitious than the dynamic between Job and the Satan in the Biblical Book of Job; and that’s a pretty high hurdle to cross.

Funny how the Glittery Vampire actually does a pretty kickass depiction of Batman. I would say 1 of the best I seen.

I grow up with Christian Bale's batman and the animations of batman. Now I understand it like an adult watching over and over again the character, also playing the games and so on. The best kick in was Pattinson's batman! The film hit hard man, seriously!
The Batman that actually nailed the detective part
First time i saw Batman 2022, i really really like it (granted i was half asleep that day).
Then i rewatched a week ago, and now i regard Batman 2022 as the best batman movie i ever seen and the most comic accurate in term of theme and spirit, the most realistic and dark comic movie, the best cinematography of the past 20 years, i can go on ...
And if i watch it a third time i think it just going to increase my appreciation even more...

I really like the world greatest detective batman. No cgi mess, no bullshit comedy. It is hardcore, grit and epic.
My favourite version of BatMan is The Dark Knight Returns version and BatFleck is the closest to that.
The Batman is the only dvd that I've liked enough to buy in the last ten years.
Batman was supposed to be the “World’s Greatest Detective”, yet he was always two or three steps behind Riddler. Even if this was “Year Two”, he’s supposed to be much better than that.

If I could add my 2 cents to the discussion one of the reasons people enjoy Batman stories is because at their heart their horror stories. While they have elements of the Super hero genre, the crime drama, the detective story their all taking place in a world firmly grounded in the horror genre. Batman's villains are all straight out of a horror movie. What their usually trying to do is straight out of a horror movie, What batman is and what he has to do to succeed is straight out of a horror movie, the ineptness and cluelessness of the established authorities is pure horror movie, and finally everyone's favorite visual depictions of Gotham usually involves a heavy dose of Gothic Horror tropes. Most good Batman stories are much more closely related to a (classic) vampire story than a super hero one. Just my take anyway.
I knew Pattinson had it in him to play a character like that after his performance in The Lighthouse.

His Batman but really his Bruce Wayne is played like a ghost of a human being. That was the quality that I loved the most because it's a quality lifted straight from the comics. The melancholy. The stoicism. Batman is a human hero but he feels like a specter in the comics, a little closer to the Crow than the Punisher. There's a moment in Batman: Son of the Demon where after Bruce saves a kidnapped child and brings them to Gordon for safety, Gordon comments on the tragedy that the child's father had been murdered by the kidnappers. Bruce stares at the child when saying, "It's a terrible thing to lose a father." This moment was haunting in the comics because, one, the art, but also because the panel lingers. It's technically a betrayal of Bruce's identity but he can't hide who he is in this moment. His trauma makes him just as affected by the death.
And lo and behold, they have that same moment in Reeves' The Batman when Pattinson stares at the child upon learning that he's gone through the same loss. Everybody comments on that moment from the film, but I wonder how many know that it's recreating something and very accurately so?

While this is cinematically 'subjective' I'm in agreement. However I think this is interpretation works is mainly that this is only year two of Batman's existence. Much like Clark Kent in MOS, he's still finding his feet aside from being a brilliant detective
The detective aspect of this movie is what made it my favorite out of all the Batman movies.
I don't necessarily like Robert Pattinson as Batman, and much less so as Bruce, but I don't think he did a bad job either.
But The Dark Knight showcases far more detective skills than The Batman. I don’t get it when people say otherwise.
@@CarlosGomesCabral Like what? I don't remember anything that was detective like in The Dark Knight. If you're talking about the sonar I'd hardly call that detective "work". Nobody had to look far to find the Joker or Two-Face. They knew who Harvey was already and nobody seemed to care who the Joker was. Batman didn't spend his time looking for clues to anything and all the action pretty much came to him, even if indirectly. That's probably why there was no point in figuring out Joker's identity. He was always gonna put himself out in the open, they just had to be prepped to catch him when he did.
In The Batman, the entire movie almost was spent trying to figure out who and where the Riddler was. Riddler never put himself out in the open to be caught and figuring out who he was became a necessity.

Pattinson is a great actor, to bad many people still see him as a sparkeling vampire. I was happy when I heared he would be the new batman.
We are talking about 2 different characters here. The Batman is Batman, a detective. Nolan made a tril9gy of the Dark Knight. Yes both are called Batman but are 2 completely different creatures.
Batman relies more on his detective skills and intelligence where as the Dark Knight relies more on his fighting skills, brute strength and fear tactics. Yes both use fear but one uses it more to confuse and as a fighting tactic were the other uses it for coercion and concealment.
The Nolan trilogy is the best Dark Knight saga made so far.
The Batman is the best Batman movie made so far.
Because most producers of superhero movies don't understand comics.. The Boys and Doom Patrol gets it right series wise

Robert Pattinson wasn’t Batman at all. He was called Vengeance in the film multiple times, the point of the movie itself is that he is not Batman, yet.

I must admit, though, that although The Batman is the better looking of the two films, it ultimately doesn’t possess quite the depth, the meat on the bone, that Nolan’s The Dark Knight does. But then, Nolan dared to utilize, for the Batman/Joker dynamic, a literary model no less ambitious than the dynamic between Job and the Satan in the Biblical Book of Job; and that’s a pretty high hurdle to cross.
