Holy Dino's mate you just sold this expansion for me! Here I was thinking it was just a 5 player expansion with water Dino's. Man those mods sound AMAZING!! so many cool additions to an already bodacious game. Especially the elements that make your game different from everyone else's! Thanks for the great review man. Dino Island is one of my favorites as well, very very excited for this expansion to arrive. Thanks for the review Kas. Also, I've been hearing from other people that the water dinosaurs seemed a little unbalanced so there's that.
Kas... excellent review mate...the expansion adds a lot of good things...and sorts out the Dino scores from the original game... As said on FB...think I'd have to move if 5 player.... How much have you played of it? I've got it but not played it... But it's just hard to get to play... Looking forward to the solo mode... Great job kas. 😁
My baseline is typically 3 or more times before review. Now some games require more in some cases (case in point - Scythe took me about 7 before I was comfortable enough to review it). I have 2-3 days a week that we play games so I can get reviews done. I think we played 4 times including learning game....which wasn't bad cause we already knew how to play base dino island.
If you're talking about the base game, you would definitely need to get it to play this. This doesn't include all of the extra player boards and such to actually play it out. So if you want this, you'd get both. Hope that helps :)
I don't know every bit of the ins and outs but there are definitely misprints or different sculpts in the included pages. Mainly the same sculpt with different colors. This is for the extreme edition. Please put that in your title as there is a fair bit of difference between this vs the standard edition.

Maybe they can aim to a smaller version of this game in their next KS so that it will not be such a table hog
Anything's possible for sure. Big games have been streamlined a bit in the past.
