GTA 4 is more a demanding game than gta 5 and the rage engine is powerful I just upgraded my ram
gta v is highly optimised but gta 1v is not optimized and only runs well on ps3
The hardest mission in GTA 4 is to have +60FPS
Opening gta 4 without any errors is the hardest mission
25+ fps is all i need but i cant with the 10 fps
Hardest Mission Is Not Running GTA IV in 60 FPS, Hardest mission is to run it in your and mine potato pc

What I love about this video is that you are not redirecting buddies to external mods with additional files but modifying the default archives in the game, I knew there was a solution to the lag into the files of the game but I never checked properly, thank you a lot! I'll update this comment if the setting helped me, I'm trying to run it in a notebook, AMD A6 9225, 2 Cores, 2.39GHz base, no graphic card (integrated) and 8GB RAM (1.4GB RAM reserved for system, actually usable= 6.6GB RAM)

Well, I'm back. The files actually improve the fps of my game, from 10-12 to 25-27. The only big problem is that, due to the poor optimization of the game the rendering is bad AF and I suffer constant fps drops that make the game impossible to play, so I gave up. How bad is it that even in my PC with a much more powerful GPU the game still lags. It's a shame, I love this game. I will keep trying though, I clearly can't take a "no" as an asnwer.

Find where your GTAIV.exe is located, and in that same folder, make a text document (txt) called "commandline.txt", and inside it write: "-width 1920 -height 1080", except replace the numbers with whatever resolution you want, so if you wanted a 1680x1050, you'd write "-width 1680 -height 1050". Hope this helps!

Did it limit your data usage under 480? It's usually recommended to have a limit of at least 480+

Sadly 2gb ram isn't enough to play this game without lags or other issues coming up now and then. You'll a bare minimum of 4gb and a good gpu. The system is not providing enough memory for the game to render the objects. I guess that is the problem
