My first experience with GTA IV was back in 2009 on my first PC. I was running it on 2GB DDR2, Intel Dual Core 2.4GHz E-series but I don't remember which one, HDD 250GB SATA3 and nVidia GeForce 9600GT 512mb 128bit, XP SP3.
I do remember that the game was running "smoothly" under 30fps on 1360x760, and I have had enjoyed every single moment of it.

The GPU is doing all the work there, also very impressive you got any modern game besides Crysis to run on XP
It was pain in the ass at first to get it to run, but there was some trick in regedit to switch from SP2 to SP3 so the game could recognize XP version SP3 instead of incompatible SP2, but yeah@@joshuamccutcheon
@@C00L3Rnewer Intel integrated cards work very well.I play GTA 4 with around 40-50 fps easily on medium settings in Intel HD 620 i3 7020u processor 16gb ram

My first time playing and finishing GTA IV was with Windows XP SP3, 4GB ram, Athlon 6000+ and Geforce 9800gt.
I played with a similar setup for the first time only that it was a 5200+

BUT - my 1st GTA 4 experience was exactly with 1050 ti (4gb), and it's quite comfortable without critical problems

your smartphone powerd by arm poccesor wich is lower than x86 proccesor but if you have android you can install mobox emulator or exagear this emulators can run any pc games include gta 4 but fps will be low around 20

My first pc had less than 2gb of ram my second pc had 4gb ram lol. Btw gta iv runs just like how it's running on ur 4gb ram pc on my pc too. If u have Intel uhd graphics or smth u can run gta iv smooth on 4gb ram
Yes absolutely, my second PC have only 4GB RAM with CPU Dual core 2.70 Ghz and UHD Graphics and run Smooth.
first i played in 2008 on my 2007 athlon 4000+ 4gb ddr2 ram ati x1650 gpu and 2x320gb hdd raid, later i upgraded on phenom x4 940 and gt 9800 1gb gpu it was good .. and in 2015 i made fx 9590 , 32gb ddr3 , r9 390 8gb with ssd and 4k monitor .. it was really good .. now i have 13900k 32gb ddr5 rtx3090 but i didnt tried it yet - i ll try it and tell how it works

i think this is pretty useless: GTA IV was made in 2008 which uses a 32bit executable. This means that, being a 32-bit program, it cannot physically use more than 2GB (or max 4GB with some hacks), so above 4GB of ram there should be no difference as it only depends on how much ram the OS takes off. For test the real GB differences, the exe should be made as a 64bit as it would use all and more ram.

The game doesn't care that much about gpu performance. To have good fps you need a top end cpu from the last few years. Now I run the game at 5k to give my gpu at least something to do. Nonetheless the heavy work is done by a 5800x3D cpu.

GTA IV isn't CPU intensive, quite the opposite.
I have 8 ram on my pc going to upgrade it with 4x8 ram sticks which is 32 ram and the 8 Gb stick in my pc il keep it as my first stick that plays gta 5 smoothly
GTA 4 shouldn't be laggy in 4 gb ram if you try it in windows 7.
because in Windows 7 there is no background apps and no much functions takes much more Ram and CPU usage

can u do a gta evolution 2001-2023 with the 820m geforce graphic card thats what i use for gta 5 with 8gb and that may cause lag as my laptop skill issue

Hey try gta 5 i tested it on my friend laptop who have the same specs as you runs great with 21 fps without fps drops if you turn of shadows you will get like 30 fps

im currently having serious issues with this game. a recent update had caused it to become unplayable. its turned into a stutter fest. my framerate is saying im getting a stable 60fps, but it is choppy as hell

running the latest steam version on my i3 13100, 32 gb 3200mhz and gtx 760 OC, maxed out at 1440p, most of the time I get a solid 60+fps but sometimes it stutters like hell, especially when flying helicopters :\
@@cristianursu6504 yeah its a weird issue. changing the resolution back and fourth seems to fix it temporally. but after about 10 min, it starts stuttering again

My 1st laptop had 2gb of ram and integrated gpu so it was only loading save house and cars was fine fps but not playable. After this video i'm installing it again on 1060 and 16gb of ram.
I have a 10 old year old twin frozer card with 3gb ddr5 memory and gta runs at almost maxed out settings at 56fps at 1080p on an 8 core 8350 processor from over 10 years ago. Never seen lag
Its amazing that the original San Andreas on pc that was on the Rockstar app that if you play it on 4k at Las Ventures at night that the game graphics looks amazing. This is before the remaster mobile version on ps3 and xbox and the recent look like trash re remaster.

The RAM you have shouldn't make any difference past 4GB wether it's your system memory or the VRAM.
Reason being that this game was built on a 32bit architecture & 32bit programs are incapable of utilizing anything more than 3973MB of memory.

The llag fix is easy. Turn on Steam Overlay.. Fixed ALL my problems the game runs butter smooth on 2080ti 9700k 32GB
i only have a low spec laptop asus ryzen 5 gtx16504gb with 8gb ram,i could play far 3,4,5 , dying light and gta with a stable 60 fps,even tho the graphics are set to normal is still looks decent to enjoy playing it
