    I'm so glad you talked about having anxiety and depression after surgery. I'm going through that now and didn't understand why it was happening. Thank you so much.

    You’ve helped me more than my doctor. I had surgery a reduction/lift two weeks ago and he will see me for 5 minutes and say I’m fine when I clearly have a hematoma and swelling on one side has not went down.

    Wow. You seem like a fantastic surgeon. I love how you implement natural healing supplements into your recovery protocol. Wish I lived closer so I could have you do my surgery. I’m hoping I heal quickly due to my housecleaning business. I need to get back to it as quickly as I can and it’s definitely an extremely physical job.

    My caretaker is causing me to experience stress and I am bleeding here and there from my incision sites. It's currently day 2, is it okay if I'm bleeding a bit? It's not a huge amount maybe three tea spoons worth. I'll call my surgeons office tomorrow about it but tbh I feel like I've mostly been left in the dark to figure it all out by myself.

    I can’t get ahold of my surgeon. 2 weeks post op and have never heard from him besides right after surgery. So thank you for this video. I also love how your all about CBD natural ingredients/ no opioid. I wanted to tell you about Manuka honey, I have applied it to my incision for the last three days, incredible healing results. I was told to wear a compression bra and band to press the implants down into position. One breast is all the way down and the other one is still really high.

    Dear Dr. Could you please show how do you tape the anchor scar with the steri-strips your way. I’d greatly appreciate it.

  • @Amanda-I-AM
    @Amanda-I-AM 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hi dr. Barret, What do we tape the incisions with for 6 weeks? And can we buy the supplies on your website? 🙏🏼❤️

    • @barrettplasticsurgery
      @barrettplasticsurgery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      For scars, I close all of my incisions in 5 layers and do not use absorbable sutures because they cause inflammation and worse scarring. I tape all of my incisions in the office visits once a week for six weeks after surgery to improve the appearance. After taping, I start my patients on a scar gel therapy for 3 months that they have to put on their incisions twice daily. But every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

    I got a breast lift last week and got a rash from steri strips, I used hydrocortisone to help with the itchiness since it was so severe. Why can’t hydrocortisone be used, I’m a bit nervous now because I used it for a day. 😬

    Hello Doctor I am about 4 weeks post op I had a breast lift and reduction, I have textured implants with anchor scars, am I supposed to massage them like I did with my previous breast augmentation? Up, down squeeze together etc. I am not sure because of the lift thank you. Also one nipple looks like it stretched out larger while the other looks still rounded/ cookie cutter shape. Is this normal or will I need a nipple revision on the nipple that stretched out? My post op team is not helpful with my questions I thought I would try here thank you.

    • @barrettplasticsurgery
      @barrettplasticsurgery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.
      It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.

    Hi there. I got a lift and aug this year may 10 . The left boob looks like it never had any surgery. Great. The right boob great but the right areola had about 1/3 or 1/4 necrosis. Fast forward some time say three weeks into after may 10 i started putting manuka honey on it. No change really just that the necrosis had scabbed and became hard. I was prescribed xeroform ... i am wondering if i can place some medihoney on top of the xeroform. I fee like the xeroform burns a tiny bit. I would really appreciate the reply. Also , is there one that is better than the other? Manuka honey vs xeroform? And maybe how worried should i be? Thanks.

    • @glendaw8366
      @glendaw8366 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually meant manuka honey on top of the xeroform not medihoney( i cant find the medihoney) thansk

      necrosis can happen but in most cases it heals well but you need to wait. Every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

    Hi, can you elaborate a little bit more as to why you don’t put your patient straight into a surgery bra. I had breast lift two days ago and my surgeon has done the same and told me to not start wearing for 1 week. I feel very anxious in this time my breasts will drop horribly as this surgery I had was revision lift due to sagging from the first lift. Thanks!
