Flew CDG to SIN last week, upgraded to business class at the gate (you get called by the principal by name type of upgrade). Midway into the flight and while sleeping I was awoken because I was sweating a bit. Imagine my surprise when the flight attendant suddenly appeared from the shadows and asked me if I'm ok, like a ghost suddenly appeared! She offered me a thinner blanket and came back with a selection of snacks. I feel like if I coughed or choked on my saliva they'll come rushing in 0.5 seconds.

Hi Josh - I love Singapore Airlines. I have been flying with them to Asia from Cape Town for a while now and no other airline comes close to their service.
Scamtrax: always makes me chuckle. I flew four sectors with Singapore recently (LGW-SIN-DPS-SIN-LGW). The 'Singapore Girls' are fantastic and so, so polite. Wife did her first international flight in 20 years and boy was I glad it was with SQ - We did the LHR-SIN-CGK sector 2 days before the SQ320 incident, travelling with our 1 year old in a bassinet and 9 year in economy (both on their first flights too). Although it was a bumpy affair over the bay of bengal, I was glad that the flight attendant woke us up to get our infant into our laps. it was quite choppy on the A380, for somebody who does this segment biannually since the age of 4. They couldn't have performed any better with assisting us if they tried. For an economy class passenger, the food was spot on as was the IFE - soft and hard products were as I remembered them pre covid. It was also nice to be able to chat to some of the crew on their views post covid, during their downtime, in the rear galley. What I loved particularly about SQ was their sustainable domestic hot meals with regional flights; SIN - CGK was an eyeopener on the A350! I can't imagine having nasi lemak served in a wax-cartoned box with bamboo cutlery, but that was exactly what I needed to let me know I was most definitely back in SE Asia. My wife was impressed with the experience, despite the turbulence and considering what happened to that chap (who incidentally lives opposite the river to where we are in Gloucestershire), and basically concluded that all european / british carriers leave something to be desired. Well done SQ.
Wow, how coincidental that you flew with SQ just weeks before the incident that killed the poor chap who so happened to have lived near to you😢. Great to hear how well my national carrier perform. 😊
I'm been a last row convert for the last 2-3 years as well, only because it allows me to lean the seat back without any guilt any time during the flight (over 10,000 feet naturally). The only times I don't choose the last row is when it's a red eye under 7 hours in which case I pay a little extra for a seat with generous leg room to stretch out during sleep.
I've flown SQ on several occasions, taking annual trips back to the UK from where I now live in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Both the regional business class on the 737-8 MAX, and long haul business class on the A380, are superb experiences. Genuinely professional, and attentive crew - and the best food I've tasted in the sky. I'm sure the Q Suites onboard Qatar Airways are amazing - but I've not yet tried it. Good work with your videos Josh !
I flew Singapore Airlines from Houston to Manchester and the service was outstanding. Unfortunately I have not flown some of the other well known big carriers that are known for their outstanding service so cannot compare but I would think Singapore is up near the top. Yes I have done the back row seating many times for the same reasons you do, especially when there are no time constraints at my destination. Sitting at the very back is even better when you are flying to an airport where you get to deplane onto the tarmac from the back as well as the front.
Changi’s JEWEL is beautiful and nice to visit. It’s also nice having a huge mall as part of the airport. One of the first times I saw security scanning being done at the gates themselves.
Having been to Singapore for a few days some years ago, it comes to me as no surprise that they have both the best airline and the best airport in the world. Singapore is the kind of place where you wonder what the locals might complain about.
I chose the back row on Emirates red eye flight from London to Dubai and I got the entire row to myself, it was amazing. Singapore airlines are my favourite by far for service and food, we were given so much food compared to Emirates (where we got off the plane absolutely starving).

Singapore is consistently the best I have experienced over a number of years. Efficient and polite and the A350's are fantastic. I also think Changi Airport is the best in the world by far.
Why I consistently ensure my bags have 2-wheels - - searching high and low for top quality. Almost impossilbe now. As for my favorite flooring - it is the hardwood you find in Scandinavia like Norway and Denmark. (CPH OSL).
I agree, SQ is one of the best that I experienced on my recent flight from Rome to Singapore. Other top airlines I choose when have the chance are Air Astana and KLM
Josh, if you really really want to test Singapore Airlines, you should fly their 737-800 NG (the ones from SilkAir). You can test if SIA can truly still serve exceptional service, even with the old seats that have NO IFE (the 737-800NG can usually be found flying from SIN-PEN)
the carpet at SIn makes it the best airport in the world. Makes it so quiet. I've spent there half a day and was all fine. Imagine it at the any other airport -12h o waiting.
Thank you for this review Josh, for me personally, Singapore Airlines is still the world's best ❤️ I love their B737 Max product. Looking forward to your Myanmar flight 😉
I think this is a delayed video or something. The bit at the beginning when he talks about the turbulence problem that hit the airline happened back in May. Actually feels a little like an ad to be honest.
SQ for me is so much better, consistent and food is great. Crew are always present, especially on Business. I have flown with Emirates and Turkish for long-haul, in business. I still prefer SQ, too bad they're no longer flying in Duesseldorf.
I never flown SQ in economy so cannot really judge that but I just flew multiple times SQ A380 in the last month in business class and whit out a doubt it was one of my best experiences even after flying countless other business class flights even if being just 13… really kind crew, excellent food, good seat and phenomenal lounges!!
I flew business class this year to and from Singapore. Service excellent but ground crew have no idea what is going on. 2 hour delay and we in glass room with out toilet. Our bags have been left on rain for 2 hours , by the time we arrived to Brisbane my bag content was wet and some items ruined as clothes have stained each other. Crew fantastic but no communication between ground floor crew , everyone just looking at each other. I know the system as I did work for 25 years at the airport in Australia.
Josh I don’t like this thumbnail it looks bad, I feel it looks to ai generated and lo-quality not really your level but other than that great video love your work👍
There have been occasions when I’ve booked their extra legroom seats (Row 49) on 737-max, they’ve reserved the middle seats on row 49 for cabin crew for takeoff and landing.
Wild to me that they are operating the LH version of the A350 on KUL-SIN with Y+ (which they don’t sell on that route) but they’re still sending the regional product to Australia.
@@lesterlam84 Yes I’m aware of that, that’s not the point of my post. They have a regional version of the A350 with more seats, yet they are using the Long Haul version on a 40 minute sector with a premium economy cabin that they don’t even sell on that route. It doesn’t make any sense.
SQ economy is better than many business class seats offered by some airlines. I fly them when I can but they are much more expensive, even for small trips.
I love SQ. My airline of choice always! Have flown many times economy, first time business in January! Wow! What an experience! Going again London to penang next January in business. Really good fare too! 3500 GBP or there abouts. Can't wait!

Singapore Airlines flight attendants are absolutely superb❤
Great video! Singapore Airlines is still a very good airline!
the carpet at SIn makes it the best airport in the world.
7:20 - do you mean June 2025? It's already end of August...
June 2024 or June 2025?
Hope to hear from you soon.
I was wondering the same thing
Was thinking the Same 😅
I think this is a delayed video or something. The bit at the beginning when he talks about the turbulence problem that hit the airline happened back in May. Actually feels a little like an ad to be honest.
😂
Singapore has always been the best for me. Especially the staff and Changi the best airport by far ❤🇿🇦
Definitely it is SQ Cahill Sir👍😊
Singapore Air is definitely #1 in the world. I'm curious to see how Thai Airways and Japan Airline are doing these days.
Very big plane for such a short route. Good review as always Josh :)
If I am not remembered wrongly, KrisFlyer member can get on board WiFi for free, regardless of any fare class.
Good review, enjoyed it
Really good review. I really enjoyed this airline review.😊
Consistently the best.👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Last row doesn't usually have reclining seats. So if the person in front of you pushes back, it can be claustrophobic
SQ for me is so much better, consistent and food is great. Crew are always present, especially on Business. I have flown with Emirates and Turkish for long-haul, in business. I still prefer SQ, too bad they're no longer flying in Duesseldorf.
SQ and Changi Airport are indeed pride of Singapore, my country!
I would love to see a video on fear of flying by you!
I think SQ has the best crew in the sky. I prefer the EK hard product in economy class.
Great job to the airplane for outstanding service and product. Thanks again Josh for another great video. Safe travels and God bless you.
Wild to me that they are operating the LH version of the A350 on KUL-SIN with Y+ (which they don’t sell on that route) but they’re still sending the regional product to Australia.
There’s a lot of demand for the SIN-KUL sector, it’s the busiest international route in the world.
@@lesterlam84 Yes I’m aware of that, that’s not the point of my post. They have a regional version of the A350 with more seats, yet they are using the Long Haul version on a 40 minute sector with a premium economy cabin that they don’t even sell on that route. It doesn’t make any sense.
My old home i miss Singapore so much and lots of memories there
Hope you will be able to return to old home sometimes. God bless.
Im lucky to Live in Asia and use SQ all the time. They are Hard to beat and even in economy I love this new food box. Super tasty and eco friendly
Another amazing Review 😍
SQ economy is better than many business class seats offered by some airlines. I fly them when I can but they are much more expensive, even for small trips.
cant believe you didnt chose the hanoi hilton ^^
I love SQ. My airline of choice always! Have flown many times economy, first time business in January! Wow! What an experience! Going again London to penang next January in business. Really good fare too! 3500 GBP or there abouts. Can't wait!
Singapore is the best. Used to find Qatar the best but had a miserable crew from Manchester to Doha, next leg to Bangkok was brilliant.
Indeed. All airlines, even the best, have their off days.
@@alexmcwhirter6611 yes but these days paying a lot of money
To say it’s the best you’ve obviously flown every airline in the world to make this assumption 😂
You know it’s a fancy operation when they serve you lurpak and not a generic!
Pierre Balmain I salute you 🤩 ❤
This is so positive it almost feels like an ad. Keep it up with economy reviews! But specially love business reviews of horrible airlines
SQ/Changi are the best hands down.
Airline wise, if not SQ, only flying on Aeroflot or Middle Eastern airlines, if there is a chance
