- Wunala still lives on! Granted, it's quite a far cry from the livery this aircraft once wore, but at least the colorful kangaroo still rides on the nose of -OEJ.

Who would’ve thought we’d see this exact plane be Qantas’ last 747... Long live the 747!
I just love seeing our Qantas 747 she is so beautiful and it's great to see her, it always send s a chill up my spine to hear her powerful engines at take off!!
So sad to see knowing its gone. It was cut up in Tupelo, MS. I was lucky enough to get a set of seats and a window section of fuselage from this plane.
Awesome video. I was passenger on the Qantas 747-438ER (Reg: VH-OEJ) flying from Honolulu to Sydney the other day, and what an experience! First time ever on a 747 but probably the last :(

At the start awaiting takeoff and starting the takeoff roll its VH-OEH "Hervey Bay" 747- 400ER......its the same type of aircraft as VH-OEJ.
The ER's have CF-6's while the other models have RR's.
That's VHOEH not OEJ, you can clearly see it on the nose wheel doors

Normal flaps for 747 takeoffs is 10 and 20. Seeing this flight is going to JFK and may not be full it could be using flaps 10 which is not a lot.

Those are CF6s, not P&W. Some Qantas aircraft do have RRs though

"Spirit of Australia" is on all Qantas aircraft......there are actually two Qantas 747-400ER's here......VH-OEH "Hervey Bay" at the start and VH-OEJ "Wunala" at the end.

My love affair with the 747 spans 45 years. My very first flight was on a Qantas 747-200B (rego VH-EBC), from Sydney to Singapore in 1972. The variants over the decades have elevated the 747 to the lofty status of Legend!, along with the 707 which is also very dear to me. Yes, I am very old school, but the 787-9 has peaked my interest. I'm look forward to my first flight one of those. Just about everything else leaves me stone cold.

Does Qantas operate their signature Boeing 747-400ERs on the SYD-LAX-JFK-LAX-SYD route?
I believe so however I am sure they have many other routes. QF108 route is generally SYD-LAX-JFK-LAX-SYD so yes.
and QF 107 (to sydney) QF 108 is from sydney only
lcthevideogamer yes generally the whole Qantas Boeing 747-400ERs fleet consists of this route from Sydney and Brisbane International. I was only at Brisbane international a month ago and saw many Qantas 747's on the same route however from brisbane.
lcthevideogamer incorrect, the 744 outbound service out of YSSY to KJFK via KLAX is the QF107 service and on the way back is the 108, they also operate QF11/12 to YSSY-KLAX-YSSY with the A380.

Never been on a Qantas plane before because the Qantas flights are too much Money to go on one and me and my family take Jetstar because thay do After pay Flights
2 different planes.....check the names ....Hervey Bay then Wunala ......very poor.
