Everybody welcome back to another vlog and here i am with @Yahmantv a TH-camr from here in Jamaica and today we take a look at the aftermath of the hurricane in Spanish town as well as old harbour. These communities seem to have been damaged by the hurricane but the Jamaican spirit is very strong and resilient they are already back at it trying to fix up their homes. This community is important to Kingston because it is a fishing village and that is how many of these people earn a living.. let’s say a prayer and hope things get back to normal fairly soon.
If you’d like to book a tour with a trusted local, please do contact @Yahmantv this will send you over to his channel.

I love this video, showing us what Jamaica is like after the hurricane.
I landed safely back home from Jamaica yesterday (with a few extra passengers, flight full) from St Ann, who still has no power.
Was my first ever hurricane and was very scary, as the windy was very powerful and noisy.
Glad ur safe

Try to connect with Serpentine(a) before leaving Jamaica.
I’m sure she would appreciate it. Visit the place in Ocho Rios where there is fire in the water.
Also where there is a glow in the water at
nights.
Stay as long as you want. I’m enjoying your videos.

@PoJoTheBackPacker yes one section of my roof got hit but i get it sort out
Old harbour looks older since Beryl. Mother nature dont play Such a sad affair . Another interesting video P'J
Yes Mother Nature is a B
One thing JPS must consider is to run the electric wires underground instead of have poles because with the tropical country we live in we will continue to get these types of weather. With poles in the air will cause problems. Other parishes is devastated especially the rural area. St Elizabeth, Manchester, Clarendon, Mandeville
Exactly, like in Florida
I was just thinking about that in my sleep
I agree
@@PoJoTheBackPacker Treasure Beach St. Elizabeth is a good place to visit, sections of Clarendon, Alligator Pond, Manchester
I feel it for the fishermen and their families😢
Yes for real
Hi POJO ,I can see you've made it through the hurricane in Jamaica.
I have just gotten back electricity and internet, you came next to me, I'm in May Pen, that's next to Old Harbor.
I saw a post that said maypen got power I’m happy for you. Hope you and your family is good 🫡
Got to help yourself until help comes
Yep i already know
The train still runs from Spanish Town to Linsted mostly Transport students from one point to the other but they carry adult too if they like to just buy a ticket. Dee MWANGO Went on it she is you tuber too.

Ahhh makes sense
At the start of the video I wondered if PoJo was driving in Jamaica. It took me a while to remember that the steering wheel is on the left in Jamaica. 😂
😂
👍❤️🙏
🫡
You should come to Westmoreland
How is it over there right now
Checking for the first time, Nigel Yehman as a fisherman
Yes he’s a good guy i think me and him gunna get in a fish one day👌🏽
I'm not seeing how it affected Mandeville Manchester
I might try and go there but i hear the situation rough so i also don’t wanna put myself in a situation
Po jo when are you going back to the US you've been in Jamaica for a minute..
I went home for a some time and came back. I’m like a ninja
@@PoJoTheBackPacker What is it about Jamaica why you like it there?
@@markwhitehead1572 it challenges me in ways i haven’t been challenged while visiting a country. And it gets me out of my comfort zone having to ask folks for directions, or just overall having to figure out how to move around, the food, the dancehall scene is cool. I like people watching and just observing
@@PoJoTheBackPacker okay..
Spanish Town is rough man
It is lol
Did you do Spanish Town?
I did not but maybe i will when i go back to Kingston
The Italians want to run the train service in Jamaica
Wtf that’s weird
Blessed Sunday, I never understand when I see people build and live in certain places (below dams, near volcanoes etc...🤔🤦🏾♀🙏🏾❤
It’s not a time for negativity
@@PoJoTheBackPacker It is not negative to not understand why our fellow human beings do certain things. I am not just talking about "JAMAICA" as a whole either.
@@KamilleFergusonhmm I think sometimes people don’t have a choice tbh. You heard that they are fishermen so they usually need to be up early and out most of the day fishing… so convenience. A lot of people have also lived in the same community or even house their entire lives so for them to move isn’t practical. Global warming has drastically affected nature so a lot of them events aren’t usually so bad etc. there are a lot of factors.
I think it would be more appropriate to send them well wishes instead of trying to figure out why they chose to live near water (not uncommon for an Island) and every human is deserving of a place to live, even if it’s by large bodies of water. Don’t judge too harshly because none of us are ‘safe’.
@@kooliecurlz93 Who said a foolish man buids his house where... ? I think I will stand in our Creator's "Negative/Harsh" Judgement, than with the rest of you who deciding now a days that "RIGHT"! is "WRONG"! Yuh walk good now.
Po Jo do you understand their patois dialect
I understand most of it
The people need to stop building these wooden structures. Jamaica is getting more hurricanes than ever before. They need to do something different. Some of these homes were made of bricks from decades ago. Living so near the ocean may be deteriorating the bricks.
I agree
What's up with the elephant 🐘 🤔
I saw that when i drove by lmao i should have asked
Cuban School
Yes
I knew you were Latino! What part?
Puerto Rican
old harbour is a disappointment, imagine have the sea and natural beauty and not using it to your advantage for tourism and hotel
Appreciate your comment unfortunately it’s not my place to have an opinion (not that you asked) appreciate you watching 🫡
Because locals need to make a living too and people need fish to cook! That's OBVIOUSLY a fishing village and not a pretty beach. Anyways mind your business. Not everything should be about tourists
I am from Old Harbour and by extention Old Harbour Bay. If you know your history you'd understand the establishment of Old Harbour Bay and that it is actually a fishing village and the largest in Jamaica.
Due to controversial "activities" the proposal for tourism have been met with question marks. It has been looked into but just like anything you need risk assessment and I am assuming it was done hence no further development.
However, tourist still do visit typically people from the diaspora to buy seafood similar to hellshire plus there is a beach area for swimming aside from the fishing village. So is the people's fishing village a disappointment when you haven't tried to figure out why certain things aren't done or being done??
