I HAVE some great blues rock in my collection, but this is right up there, this performance by MICHAEL BURKS is beyond incredible, the depth and feel of his playing and singing is so so good, the tone and sound is just brilliant, such an underrated player that will be missed by all blues rock fans that know their music, guitar playing and singing at its very best!!!
he was a great guy and he let me and my friend sit next to him while he sign autographs. he was happy to see that people my age just barely 20 were really interested in the blues.
This is my favorite Michael Burks performance..This guy gives all he's got ..no holding back. Michael, you're alive and well, in our hearts and minds....play the blues forevermore, my friend ..the afterlife will never be the same...we'll be joining you .
My dear friend and beloved King of the Blues left this earth on May 6 2012, He was and always will be one of the greatest of them out there and so sadly missed by so many who knew and loved him, myself included. R.I.P. Michael. I hope they have a lot of Jack Daniels in Heaven for you my dear Brother. God Speed and God Bless. Your friend forever, Spiderman.
I saw him twice at a small club in Salem,Oregon in '06-'07 and he was great. I had not heard of him before but very happy I went. He talked to me and my friend for near an hour after the show sharing great stories. Sad we lost him...
I got to meet Michael a few times at the bike rally in Laughlin, NV. He always remembered my name and always had a big ol giant bear hug for me. I miss that man so much already. One of the greats for sure. R.I.P. Michael. You will never be forgotten and may your awesome music live on forever. Shedding a little tear here.
the keys player always sounds great on a red nord in these live videos. But in this one playing a real old school electric organ, he sounds absolutely AMAZING!
Michael was passing thru customs in Atlanta airport after arriving from European tour when he collapsed and died 2-3 weeks ago. I was fortunate to have heard him play many times, but I'll always remember him jamming with Shane Dwight in the Mojo Kitchen after the Springing the Blues fest 2011...what a treat that was. So sad to lose Michael Burks...such a quality blues artist.
I just got turned onto this guy what a sad story reading from Wikipedia. I want to think had he lived a long life he would have been a blues name we all know. what a high energy player.
Great Stuff! Have seen the Iron Man (and Popcorn) many times. If you get a chance to see him ... GO! He is playing at the Bradfordville Blues Club tonight. 80 miles of thunderstorms away from me. See y'all there!
THE finest bluesman alive today....Michael K. Burks. I take it this song is Burk's version of the Led Zeppelin song of the same name? Burks guitar work is so superior to that of Page's, it's beyond amusing.
another great blues player jamming in heaven with all the others who have moved on

Dudes good, but he's not in same class as page.
@@supermike38 he blows page away lol
Not the same song at all. He's a better blues player than Page IMO, although Page had better originals
