18:46 what Walter is doing here, as a no "concert pianist" ... this is going far, far over the majority of professional pianists. The sincerity, the absolute "beauty level" of these seconds are heartbreaking, moments of pure grace, by an absolute human being.
How fortunate we are to be able to be present, through recording, at this unique occasion in Edinburgh not long after the war. Walter, the German maestro, recognised the English singer as a kindred spirit and inducted her into the German repertoire (and the German language) which she instinctively comprehends. It matters not that Walter's pianism here is variable. Together they create something for all time . . .
6:50 ..... in this part is very clear how Ferrier could sing .... her voice ...... unforgettable ..... ABSOLUTELY cleaned from ANY typical classical fashion singing of all others ..... angel's singing ......... all others : obscene .......
I must be a pleb: I've never understood what's so great about Schubert's song cycles! Schumann's "Frauenliebe" on the other hand is absolute perfection. Thank you darling Kathleen!
MrPianoevil She was like that. The pause before the applause at the end is telling, I think. Was just reading Gerald Moore on her today. He adored her & says the most touching things one gets teary.
And , please , notice very carefully , very , what Walter is doing between 11:10 and 11:30 , you will never , never more hear this in your whole life again .
Is that Bruno Walter at the piano? Not at the level expected of him. She of course saves the night. By the way, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson's account of the final Lied in this cycle is up on my channel. ~The notion of time, suspended.~. Listen.

13:30 ...... this moment ... absolute purity
11:10 listen carefully, this is unique, and will not be found again.
Why am I always coming here ..... ? I think encountering an Angel .....
Fritz Maisenbacher You are. I was just rereading A Memoir today. Her v first notes knocked me sideways.
I must be a pleb: I've never understood what's so great about Schubert's song cycles! Schumann's "Frauenliebe" on the other hand is absolute perfection.
Thank you darling Kathleen!
You are not.
...................................... hm ............................. so many people thinking like you
Damn, IT'S A LIVE PERFORMANCE! MUCH BETTER AND MUCH MORE UNPREDICTABLE THAN THE STUDIO RECORDING!!!!!!

SUBLIME!
From 6:49 to 8:16 .... how to sing with an absolute naked voice .......... did you ever hear that befor .... or ever heard after ....... ?
And , please , notice very carefully , very , what Walter is doing between 11:10 and 11:30 , you will never , never more hear this in your whole life again .

Anstatt solchen Dreck auszusprechen.
