    This is really helpful, but you don’t actually show where the combustion chamber is. You show a big head in front of it, and then such a close up that I can’t see where it’s meant to be.

    I can no longer turn the dial to the off position. I have to push it down while turning it and it just will not budge past the spark symbol. Leaving it up doesn't work either. I think it's had it.

    How to change the battery ?

    • @rheem.australia
      @rheem.australia  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @johnqin8315 there is no battery. Ignition of the pilot light is by a piezo igniter. A piezo igniter does not require an external power source. If you are still experiencing an issue we encourage you to contact our customer service team on 131031 or complete the contact form on the Vulcan website www.vulcan.com.au/contact-us

    Is it always supposed to be on? Wouldnt that waste so much gas?

      Thank you JC for your question.
      The Vulcan 4 Star Gas Water heater is a traditional gas storage water heater. The water heater has a main burner and a small pilot light.
      The main burner is only required when the thermostat detects that the temperature of the water in the cylinder drops below a certain level. The burner then switches off when the water in the cylinder reaches a certain temperature.
      As the water heater is not connected to electricity, the pilot light is used as the ignition source for the main burner. This pilot light needs to remain on for the main burner to light. The pilot light consumes around 1% of the gas of what the main burner does.
      The process outlined in the video covers the relighting of the pilot light in circumstances where it has be intentionally or unintentionally extinguished.

    Thanks for the video! much appreciated. I got the unit at my home and I tried the above steps several times. However, it did not work as not fire was lighted. I was wondering if I could use the gas lighter (the one we used at BBQ) to help the process? Thanks

    • @rheem.australia
      @rheem.australia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question. You should not use the gas lighter. If you have followed the instructions in the video exactly and are still unable to relight your pilot light please contact our service centre on 13 10 31 for assistance.

    they designed the hot water unit extremely hard to use and relight, gives very little advice to relight so you can call their technitian for $250. Creepy business model
