Not for nothing the original recording has a female back up singer and it brings a beautiful feel and vibe to it.
It also has some of the best stereo spacing and panning I've ever heard. With headphones, the voices move around, in and through your head in the most beautiful way.
Two of the best guitarists left in this world right there. Add Mark Knopfler to that mix and it would melt your brain!
I just learned this week that Dire Straits offered Vince a position in the band, and he turned it down. Knopfler's style is one-of-a-kind!
You can never ever go wrong with Eric Or Vince. I've been digging Mr. Clapton since the days of the band Cream in the sixties.
Clapton's versatility is unmatched. You coulda heard this song in New Orleans in 1925. He studied music history greats, Leadbelly and such and put his own touch to their's. Passing on this great American music from them

Andy Fairweather Low is the third guitarist, he plays in Eric's band.
Andy Fairweather Low (the third guy) plays in Eric's Band, but also played with George Harrison. Back in the sixties Andy had his own band called Amen Corner, and had a couple of chart hits with "Bend Me Shake Me," and "If Paradise Was Half As Nice." A star in his own right.
So...not only did Eric steal Georges wife, but his guitarist as well! lol
@@illstreamthat Andy has played with a few bands I think, but he's best known now for playing with Eric. George asked him to go on a tour of Japan playing slide guitar. I remember seeing that on a documentary /interview with Andy last year. Seems he's just a helluva nice guy that they all like having around. Of course he can play guitar a bit too!!!

This song was co-written by one of my S. Florida music friends who wrote this with Eric and toured with him for 6 years - George Terry.
I saw this video, and wanted to see you enjoy this song. I knew you would. It has great energy, happiness, and full sound with lots going on.
After seeing Don WIlliams, Eric wrote a couple of country type songs. "Lay Down Sally," and "Living On Tulsa Time."
Tulsa Time was written by Danny Flowers, who was Don Williams's bass player (I always assumed Williams wrote it. But I looked it up and I was wrong, too) Apparently, he played it (at Don's request) shortly thereafter in a jam session that included Clapton. Clapton wanted to record it, but Williams already had plans to. They agreed to each record it, but do it in different styles. Both were released in 1978.

I love a song that has double meanings, as many, myself included, thought it was , about his girlfriend, Eric revealed that it was about his dog, and companion.... At his lowest point of addiction. Anyone the has a service animal, pet , companion can relate. ❤

My favorite version is on Clapton's "Just One Night" double album set recorded like in one night in Japan. The whole set is Awesome!

Two of the best guitarists ever playing together. Very very different voices - Clapton is a huge fan of the blues, he could totally do a country album. And Vince is playing with the Eagles now, so he's got a rock side! There's a fun video where Vince hosts bunch of teens at his house, and they bust into a hymn. He's got a whole room full of guitars, but he lets one of the kids do the guitar solo.

Eric Clapton, is one of the greatest blue's guitar players on the planet, you should listen to either one of these two song's "WORRIED LIFE BLUE'S" OR " EARLY IN THE MORNING" you will hear just how good of a guitar player he really is try listening to them in a live concert in Japan, album called "JUST ONE NIGHT" great concert!! Robert's roots are in gospel, and his message is typically very positive and high energy. I would recommend his tune, "Going In The Right Direction". You'll be bouncing around in your seat like a wind-up toy. 😉

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Clapton at a bar in Coconut Grove, FL wayyy back in the 70s. He was a nice guy.. even though the stories about him say otherwise. I don't much listen to that sh*t. He bought my brother and me drinks and we all laughed a lot. I think he owned the bar, but am not sure.
He was struggling with drugs and alcohol in those days, so I'm sure he'd be the first to admit he could be a "mean drunk" or an a-hole. But those days have long since been put behind him. BB King once called Clapton "one of the finest human beings" he ever knew.

Vince is great. Eric is great. You're great. I'm from Minnesota. More prince. Sarah jarosz did a bluegrass cover of "when doves cry", you might enjoy it. Otherwise I recommend checking out the official video as well as a live performance. Prince's live performances are epic.

The racist thing came from a drunken comment Clapton made in concert in the mid 70s. But he’s a big fan of BB King and Robert Johnson, among others, so I don’t think you can really say he’s racist. Plus, that comment was basically 50 years ago and people change.. 🤷♂️
