Awesome video man. I never thought about this. I literally watched this and spent an hour refreshing my resume so I can start emailing all the small/mid-sized PE and Hedge Funds in my city. It's gonna be a difficult transition because I'm an Accounting major but I won't stop hahs Thanks!!
I'm currently studying mechanical engineering trying to get an IB internship in the UK this was very helpful and im gonna come back here to let you know this was a success soon !!!
Thank you sir. I'll revert to you even if this worked or not. I am feeling hopeless as my classmates have a good paying internship, on the other hand I don't even have an unpaid internship.
Ugh this job market sucks so bad, I only got 1 interview out of a lot of applications. I’m a senior with 1 year left and I feel like I’m doomed right now. I’m worried I’ll never get a job in finance because it’s so competitive and without an internship I’ll be at a disadvantage bc I’m competing with people who had them. And I’m not at a target school. I feel like I’m screwed. I’m thinking I should have majored in accounting because it’s less competitive.
I am 22, from a non target school. I completed a BSc in finance, then went on do to a MSc in finance. I also felt extremely doomed because I had no internships… I got an internship at a top firm just from LinkedIn networking, try and get in contact with someone in the HR team, ask for a chat about potential careers at their company etc. It’s a long process but extremely worth it.
Alright boys, as a current junior finance student at the College of Business at Illinois State University, I am going to pursue my search for an internship even farther then what I have been doing already. I will keep you updated. Comment on this too if i haven't responded in a while.
Hey Cameron, I recently had the opportunity to participate in my university's abroad program to New York. From there we were fortunate enough to have toured large investment offices and listened to senior-officals in various career fields (Bloomberg HQ was my favorite experience). As a rising senior, I switched my area of interest just last Fall and was amplified with this trip. It's something I feel passionate about, yet an internship feels impossible at this point. Although, I'm still trying to persevere my way into the industry. Slowly but surely.
I have plenty of other vids on the topic, but I think at this point it is important to start building relationships at the firms. Reach out to analysts to understand the process!
We did! I think it's a super exciting development and a smart plan for future growth. Unfortunately I can't really create content around my firm's news at that may pose a conflict.
@@Galbra1th I understand, Goldman established there last year so it is only a matter of time before every major institution is offering some form of sports advisory services. Will be keeping an eye on that space!
Hello, Cameron! I’m also from Florida and have dream of making it to Wall Street and have been following the stock market for the past 3 years, but all I have going for me is being an average student at community college and not much money saved from entry level jobs. If it’s possible, do you have any advice to start building a more credible financial acumen? Great video!
