I was so sad & angry when you were basically forced from your home or your lifestyle but I have cheered you both for making the choices you did! You have grown & fought for your choices! Hats off to you both! I believe you will love this new home more because it truly is a great accomplishment for all. ENJOY!

Consider adding water hammer arresters at your wash and shower connections, while you are open.
Also consider insulating your water supply piping, at least hot water, while you can still get at it.

It is always neat to see how other states do plumbing. Each town seems to have their own different inspectors wanting certain things. I had one inspector reject the plumbing if the writing on the pipe was in the cement joint. Some would walk onto the porch and say "Looks like a ranch house" and leave. We have had to fill through the roof before and we have had to fill the tub up for the requirement. I usually wasn't able to get in until electrical and HVAC is done, so I am envious of your plumbers. :) Keep up the good work!

A hint: get some red & blue colored electrical tape and mark the cold & hot supply lines every 1 -2 ft. Right now you know which is which but later on down the road when you might need to make repairs you won't.

A better tip, when running lines, cut your hot at an angle while running, then cut straight when crimping.. down the road the hot line will be the Shiney one ( if copper ) or the off colour one if pex... at a glance ;) also very easy to add some dash marks with a sharpie to the hot ( or red / blue )

On the clean out plugs, use a bowl wax to seal the threads on the plugs. ( just work it into the threads) .

    • @MrDmadness

Silicone or t tape us cheaper and more effective, wax was the way back in the cast iron days though, as the wax prevented the threads from rusting together

Think the heavy lifting is done, just electrical, windows, siding, insulation and siding and you will be almost ready to move in. Suggest you look into the Fiber Cement siding by Hardie and others. Looks nice, fire proof, water proof, insect proof and takes paint really well. How did the quality of the well water turn out?
