So far, I've only seen BGH1/BS1H, FX30, C70, and komodo in commercial production. Although, this could be because zcams were not widely used in my area. But even though I agree that the zcam may dominate the filmmaker market in a few years, and I'll probably buy one later.
Owned this camera for quite a few months now and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend spending the extra money to go for this over the Pocket. I find it a lot easier to work with in many different scenarios.

BRAW is a format. Zlog is a color curve. You make big confusions here. It's like comparing orange and apples. BRAW equivalent iz ZRAW. Zlog equivalent is the Film curve in blackmagic cameras.

Past RED USER, I have been using this cam since the start of the year - got to say I LOVE IT. Has been in extreme temps (both high and low), soaked in rain, covered in sand and mud and hase never missed a frame - not to mention the picture quality is superb! Z-CAM are the next best thing to hit the cinema market and shake-up the industry.
Same here. Sold my Red up a couple of years ago. Have an FS5 which I love, but this is something else. Is it good enough to make an independent film in your opinion
@@globalturfwar Definitely - Just know how to shoot with it (it likes to expose slightly to the right, especially in higher frame rates). We are producing 2+ movies with ours currently, couldn't be happier with the picture (as long as you slightly over-expose dark scenes, noise lines can be an issue.) We keen ours on the native ISO settings, 500 or 2500 - we never touch any other setting as these are best for noise.
6:29- Graphic typo? Video says max is 4k 150P, but your audio says 4k 160P. Looks like Z-Cam is really making a name for itself. Kinda wish BlackMagic made a similar screenless version of their Pocket Cinema Camera, and a separate external recorder with their awesome user interface, and higher peak brightness.

How long does it take to connect to the phone (with wifi and without)? And what about audio and functionality? I'm not too into having to use a touch screen to adjust exposure and audio levels. Does this work as a run and gun camera, where one can quickly adjust exposure on the fly?
That's one of the voigtlander nokton series, either the 17.5 or 25. I have the 10.5 and 42.5 and though not optically perfect in a technical sense are amazing lenses. They are a joy to use (even if only mf).
Z-Cams: they are not particularly inexpensive for what you get from them, and the main issue are subject & camera movements. Due to their low processing power and rolling shutter design, they are basically jello-cams. Okay if the camera does not move and nothing in the frame moves either. But then you might as well be taking stills, right?
I was about to get a new monitor for video/photo shooting, which is the new Andycine A6 Plus, which costs around 230$, and I didn't know about the Shinobi monitor, but thanks to you I know about it now and I changed my mind about getting the Andycine monitor, I'll get the Atomos Shinobi instead! I know it has nothing to do with the review of the Z Cam but I just wanted to show gratitude. 😅 ✌🏼
Many trade-offs here. Form factor size is great, but is lost with attaching monitors. Pro Res, h.265 & coded vs BRAW? Probably not enough here to warrant replacing a BM4k, but great option if stating from scratch, and one doesn't mind doing the initial and subsequent rigging required.
What is the cost of outfitting this camera completed with viewfinder, cage, LED and the rest? Camera manufactures only give the base price as their low cost without a completed camera package cost.

I have a6300, it's not bad but I want something better, full frame, IBIS, excellent ISO performance so I can control my DOF and crazy good autofocus. a7III is good but I'll be doing some crazy work that requires 240fps and that's why I'm thinking about this camera or gh5s but it's completely different system and I already have some Sony lenses. Let's wait like always...

No doubt that the E2 is more user friendly in most ways than the BMPCC, but i much prefer BRAW over ZRAW

Do you mean the bm micro cinema camera?
160fps at UHD 2.4:1, and 150fps at 4K DCI 2.4:1.

victor munhoz hey, it doesn’t have I.S. And AF is quite basic. I’d use the AF mainly just to lock focus before hitting record.

the com is a standard that allow you tu put a multiple wire cable splitter with sdi and other things, it's a common port for broadcast camera

Not bad for MFT -- great selection of MFT lenses (and lens adapters) -- and 240fps in 1080 (h.265) -- cool! Buy me one! :-)

But the BMD 6K is braw, not pro res and doesn't need aftermarket products or reliance on app updates to continue working.
