  • Here we have my take on the Pard NV007 night vision add on unit kindly supplied to me by The Sportsman Gun Centre. cracking piece of kit at a really good price point; Clear, easy to use, more than capable. couldn't ask for much more from such a small unit. The good news is these are now being solely distributed by SGC and as such can be found on their site or any local RFD with an account - simple as that!

    I got mine a couple of weeks ago and think its great. Takes a while to get usedto the eye piece being further back but not a real problem. The latest models dont come with a laser any more. It would have been handy if this feature was still on as it really would help with range finding.

  • @steved5356
    @steved5356 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It’s changed your scope’s usual eye relief position and looks so far back it’s preventing you using the cheek piece as you would normally do, and this can effect your shooting consistency. Sure, you can reposition the scope + pard to maintain usual eye relief position, which defeats the purpose of the pard and is a minor negative.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To be fair; yes you could move the scope forward using a mount like the eaglevision infinity fae, but to be fair i found the shooting position of the Pard to be comfortable. The rifle was still shouldered, i could take quick repeatable shots, even with the unit detached the adaptor didn’t interfere. The only thing i would say is with a rifle that recoils; you may want to adjust either the scope or your position. James

    i would advise not to plug the unit in via the lead the unit gets very hot & possibly could over heat the internal board, charge the batteries externally via a dedicated battery charger

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely; this was to show whats included with the nv007 itself - but moving forward as mentioned a stand aline external charger is the way to go for sure. James

    Got one 2 weeks ago, after a faulty battery exchange ( as in it wasn’t holding a charge ) it turned out to be a fantastic unit for the price.!
    Bear in mind, Pard make their own bespoke rechargeable batteries. Even though it says it’s an 18650 battery I can assure you it’s not.
    I tried another 18650 from another device and it’s a fraction too long. It’s not a deal breaker but something to think about, your tied to buying a Pard battery
    if you want a spare.

      Get flat top and not button top batteries. Mine works fine on generic flat top 18650 batteries.

      Flat top dude, not nipple batteries, use the nipple batteries and the battery cap will not tighten down to the sealing O ring.

    Drove all the way to sportsman's today based on your review. Spoke to Tom, managed to get the nv007 for £330!!! Walked out of the shop with it for that amount! I started sprinting to the car in case they'd made a mistake but no, genuinely, they are currently only £330.
    Can't wait to take it out this eve on the new hw110

    Hiya James i have the first model of the 007, been using it best part of 2 years now and never had any issues with it at all, used it in weathers with a fault of any kind, they are well worth the money, i would highly recommend them, and being honest if any thing happened to my 007 i would purchases a nother one in a heart beat mate Cheers

    I have one of the early models and have been using it for 2 plus years. It is a great unit and leaves the competition standing. Real shame that they had to spread all kinds of rumours to try and undermine the Pard unit. Those sort of tactics means I wont buy from them.
    My unit has been faultless and everything works as it should. Some scopes, typically higher end, struggle letting all the IR through so an additional IR source helps. I would advise against charging the battery in the unit. This has broken some units due to the heat. Better get an external charger and be safe.
    EDIT, these are not waterproof/showerproof.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The use of an external charger going forward long term really would be the best option and the one that i would advise, thankfully chargers and batteries are easy to get hold of!

    Thank you for the guide on the pard nv007, I have a fx crown continuum with a element Titan myself and was wondering if that unit would suit. And you’ve answered it thank you. Due to the top turret and laser so it looks like I’ll probably go for a standalone pard nv008 lrf. Looking forward to your full review of the nv007 and hopefully sgc will let you try the nv008 lrf at some point.

    Good morning, great review, just purchased MV007S and bought a Hawk Airmax 30 WA sf scope, added it to my Daystake Mk 3 and even with mounts all way forward it’s to far back and means I have to tilt head uncomfortably and it sticks into check, maybe I can get different mounts, looking at your FX the butt looks much thinner so I’m guessing your eye lines up comfortably using that gun ??? As you know it’s all trial and error so would like your thoughts and have you used it on other guns with success ????

    I see the pard set on the scope in your video pushes the ocular lens further back and on your FX the stock almost disappeared, is this a problem?

    • @michaelholt9378
      @michaelholt9378 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He has no room for his cheek, I have my scope alot further forward and I've got rid of that stupid rubber eye piece gives you extra extra room for cheek plus stops the ocular on the pard from steaming up.

    • @derekjefferson1324

      Interested in answer to this question, as do you then have to move scope forward ? And then re-zero ?

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No not at all, your eye then focuses on the screen rather than the scope if that makes sense. So even without shifting the scope about you can see perfectly clearly. James

    Wow! Looks amazing! Given the option, would you use this, or a NiteSite Wolf?

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As someone who has used both - i’d go pard... the nitesite gear is good; but its far more expensive and its a weird way to use a rifle being that far away from the stock. My biggest issue and what ultimately made me sell my wolf was the rubber mount / tube. It was a pain - would get knocked out of alignment if you were walking about , which when the shooting is fast - is not what you need nor want! James

  • @MrRw59
    @MrRw59 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the review, still can’t decide to sell my nite site wolf to put towards a pard

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a tough one! I used to run a wolf; was great but my biggest gripe was the fact the rubber tube / adaptor used to get knocked out of alignment - the Pard i found that this wasn’t an issue.

      Not with this specific scope. But shimming may be required on other optics to get that “perfect fit”

  • @visamedic

    I don’t see how price is an issue. I own 5 air rifles and a number of powder burners this will work on. I get to use my scope on my guns, no adjustments and it slips in and off all my scopes. Figure 13 night vision scopes is what I’m getting vrs one or two that would set me back a good $800-1600 that don’t have to be messed with when I have to change them out. And it can be used independently, if it can helmet mount, that’s an even bigger win. From where I’m sitting this thing ticks all the boxes. Hoping to order from Optics Planet in the next week or so. Them coyotes that keep messing with my sheep are flat f@$ked.

    • @ReplicaReviews
      @ReplicaReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve not had chance to look at the 008 yet; however - the main advantage i can see from what i know currently would be the ease at which the 007 can be swapped from gun to gun with no need to zero of fire conformation shots at all. Even moving from one pic rail to the next you’d still need to check zero - tightening the bolts slightly differently may seem irrelevant but even that could effect zero enough to be an issue. James

Soon as raised scope to look at car instantly engine started and car roared out of car park. Ha ha ha ha. Horrified though he knew I was looking. So i left scope on my car roof and walked to where he had been. Looking back you can see a bright red light coming from the pard. Er what. That aint no good. How do i turn that off?
