  • All (currently) out bond movies (minus the original Casino Royale from the 60s) are ranked as we keep waiting for the next bond film to be released. If ever.
I also talk about my favorite bond and rank my "Masterpiece" level movies in order of enjoyment.
Shame we just continue to wait for the new movie.

I'm rare, Tomorrow Never Dies is my favorite Brosnan one, I think it's aged tremendously well and is still relevant today. And I honestly have more fun with World is Not Enough than Goldeneye too

@@SaxcatGamingCorner plus I think that parking garage car chase is one of the coolest and most incentive in the franchise. Same for the motorbike chase while they're handcuffed together actually.

This is a good video and you clearly are qualified to rank these movies. So kudos to you. One small criticism is that your focus is less on the movies themselves and instead weighs too heavily on the star portraying Bond. I am glad to just see someone ranking these movies who doesn't focus on "mysogony" or other social justice crap. Good job.

Your video was very enjoyable to watch and I love hearing other Bond fan’s opinions. (yours are in parenthesis).
I’m a 40+ year fan, I just did another rewatch of all the films (Last was in 2010). These are my ratings.
    MASTERPIECE
    1. The Spy who loved me (MASTERPIECE) When I think Bond this movie and the next one come to mind, in fact these are two I recommend new Bond watchers to watch first.
    2. From Russia With Love (MASTERPIECE) This is the best Connery film, great pacing, nice locales, this is a solid spy thriller that proves that you don't need tons of action.
    3. Skyfall (MASTERPIECE) I think I overate this film because it's sandwiched between the worst films in the franchise QoS and Spectre
    4. License to Kill (GREAT) Dark, edgy, realistic.
    5. Goldeneye (MASTERPIECE) Tank scene, need I say more, ok Sean Bean, need more, a perfectly paced film and one of the coolest opening scenes of the series.
    GREAT
    6. A View to a Kill (DUMB BUT FUN) I get the faults of this film but each time I watch it I enjoy it more and more. This is a classic Bond movie, great opening scene and final scene, nice locales, menacing villain, awesome hench-woman, etc and it has two of the most intense scenes of any Bond Film in it.
    7. Live and Let Die (OKAY) This is a classic and being an introduction to Roger Moore it was beautifully crafted. It has one of the best boat chases ever filmed.
    8. Thunderball (GREAT) I think this Connery’s best acted film and the groundbreaking underwater sequences are awesome, plus the Vargas kill scene is the most classic kill in the franchise.
    9. The world is Not Enough (BAD) This has some of the best action sequences in it, very well paced and has Brosnan's best acting. Never understood the hate for this film.
    10. Dr. No (GREAT) It was a artsy MASTERPIECE film for it's time but when comparing them all it's great.
    11. Die Another Day (BAD) This first half of this film is the best of any Bond films and then it goes off the rails but it doesn’t deserve last place as most people put it. The CGI is limited and not really that bad for that era and if you accept the sci-fi concept it is a pretty fun film to watch. Plus it has Jinx, one of the best Bond girls ever and the super hot Miranda Frost.
    12. Octopussy (OKAY) Is also a fun film, campy but it hits all the right plot points. I find that people who put it near the bottom usually say they are confused by the plot.
    13. For Your Eyes Only (MASTERPIECE)
    OKAY
    14. Diamonds are Forever (BAD) This filmed nailed 1970’s Vegas and how over the top Vegas actually was back then. I also love the fact that Connery is just having a fun time (some claim he looks bored, no that would be YOLT) Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd were great henchmen.
    15. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (MASTERPIECE) Lazenby's wooden acting and constant over-dubbing of his voice shows he was not a good actor, slow in the middle, poor rear projection work. But one of the best stories in the Bond franchise.
    16. The Living Daylights (MASTERPIECE) This film has two distinct parts to it and it seems very disjointed.
    17. Goldfinger (MASTERPIECE) I used to rate this higher but each rewatch it drops, It’s slow paced (golf isn’t exactly exciting), the plot holes are immense. It also suffers that it is sandwiched between FRWL (Connery’s best film) and TB (Connery’s best acting)
    18. Casino Royale (MASTERPIECE) This is a decent Action/super-hero movie, highly predictable, but it’s not bond, in fact it comes off as a anti-Bond film. Craig comes off as a dumbed-down brutish Jason Borne/superhero action star with mental stability issues. He would never be able to pass the tests to be a 00 (I know they tried to gloss over this later but it didn’t fly). Just like Goldfinger, poker for 30 minutes isn’t exactly exciting so let’s drug him (everyone saw that coming but it makes no sense). Don’t get me going on the stupid torture scene. I didn’t find much chemistry between Bond and Vesper and her death was comically unrealistic.
    DUMB BUT FUN
    19. Tomorrow Never Dies (OKAY) 2nd worst villain in the franchise, superhero action sequences that are not very bondesque (NOTE: helicopters don't fly like that). The plot, which was full of holes already, has aged terribly, no chemistry between Wai Lin and Bond, the stupid side plot of Paris and a dull ending.
    20. You only live twice (OKAY) I find this Connery’s worst, the plot was stupid, the scenes seemed hodge-podged together, the action was choppy. Little Nellie was unbelievable back then and even worse now. And the volcano lair - sheesh, this movie has not aged well. And it was just made to appease the huge Japanese fan base, hence why it spent so much time explaining Japan - boring.
    21. The Man with the Golden Gun (OKAY) The worlds greatest assassin lures other top assassins' to his carnival fun house with his midget henchman. Top that with the worst Bond girl, Mary Goodnight and this film fails. Christopher Lee was great.
    22. Moonraker (DUMB BUT FUN) Has the best acted scene by Roger Moore - the centrifuge scene. Other than that it is a stinker.
    BAD
    23. Spectre (BAD) Boring car chase, Blofeld is reincarnated but he is boring as hell and the plot twist which was ridiculous. Highly unrealistic action sequences. Craig acted just like he did in CR and QOS but that is very different than his character acted in SF so there is absolutely no continuity here, as if M never died.
    24. Quantum of Solace (BAD) This is the only “F” Bond film, I actually walked out of the theater half-way through it. Worst villain, horrible editing, goofs galore, boring and utterly untenable plot, unrealistic action sequences, schizophrenic bond girl.

    How much do I agree/disagree?
Let’s talk about the bad column first. I agree that DAF and DAD should be there, but why TWINE, Quantum and Spectre? I’d put TWINE at okay, and Quantum and Spectre at great (unpopular opinion, but it’s mine.)
Definitely agree 100% with the dumb, but fun column.
As for the Okay column, I’d put YOLT at great, and LALD at great. I agree with Octopussy, TND, and TMWTGG. Haven’t seen NSNA, so let’s move on.
I almost completely agree with your great column, but I’d move LTK up to masterpiece.
And finally, for your Masterpiece column, I agree with CR, TLD, OHMSS, Goldfinger, FRWL, FYEO, and TSWLM. But I’d move Skyfall and Goldeneye down to great.
So, the result is: 16/24 agreed, 8/24 disagreed. Very good!

Sophie Marceau in The World is Not Enough with a real heartbreaking betrayal. i really believe it was 1 out of 3 time bond fell in love. haven't seen No Time To Die yet but apparently based on the trailers he married lea Seydoux from Spectre. so that would be 4 times.

The only problem I have with Lazenby is that he didn't do Diamonds Are Forever. I feel like if he did, it would've been a better movie. Now Sean was kinda eh in that one, I personally would put in Okay. He did alright in it not the best but understanding why he would though. I read somewhere that Timothy was intended on doing Goldeneye and not saying Bronson was not good for the role (He's personally the best Bond next to Connery) but I would've loved to see Timothy in that movie

I certainly would have approved of Dalton in Goldeneye, but Lazenby in diamonds are forever wouldn’t save it. There were talks about his second movie but I’ve never heard what it actually would have been.

@@SaxcatGamingCorner From the sounds it of it, it would've been DaF but in any case, Connery didn't wanna be there which it shows and it sucks cause he played a very good bond in the earlier movies and it's sad hearing about him being treated so harshly during You Only Live Twice
