I've got the Celestial blue SM650. I absolutely love the bike. Initially bought a Classic 350, which now sits in the garage, as the SM650 just seems to give the feel-good factor. Got to be the most comfortable bike I've had.
Good video. Not sure why all motorcycle reviewers talk about Wind blast on a naked bike. All naked bikes I have ridden cop wind. Expected. Part of the charm. Definitely not a downside. Just a proper bike.
Thanks 🙏 I mention more because of the cruiser seat position and the pull on your hands fingers over 60mph due to already being laid back a little. On non cruiser bikes you are slanted forward so wind does not create that hand pull. Hence I mentioned if you’re doing long miles then a screen would take this away. 👍 only my opinion but what I found when riding this and I think a valid point
The cruiser style isn't for me, but I do like what Royal Enfield is doing. They're keeping bike prices sensible and forcing other manufacturers to put out better lower priced bikes to compete
My dealer has had the Super Meteor in stock now for several months but recently sold the first one. The original RE models like the Himalaya, the 350 Meteor, and the 650 Int all sold rapidly which makes me think it may not be as popular here in the US as it is in the UK. It will be interesting to see how sales of the Super Meteor continue in the coming weeks and months.
Hi nick not this bike related but looking at getting a Zumo xt2 and putting on my screen bar and wondering if you have the link for the different bar and that clamp you use for the Garmin pls
Nice review Nick.... The touring seat is better (standard fit on the Celestial models). Ride quality might benefit from 2 notches up on the rear shocks. The touring screen doesn't do much for us taller riders and gets very dirty very quickly in winter which spoils filming. In the next couple of weeks I'll be fitting the TEC Canon exhaust system to my SM so I'll be looking at sound and performance differences. Oh and if the roads dry up for you you'll soon be scraping those pegs! 😊 Ride safe buddy 👍
Hi Nick. I've just bought the DJI wireless mic to match up with the Action 4 camera. What gain setting (on the camera) did you use on this video? It was brilliant. Thanks in advance.👍
I thought one of these would be in my future but after pushing one around and looking at it I have my doubts. I'm glad you mentioned the weight pushing around, I've spend 30 odd years pushing heavy bikes around and have grown tired of it, my meteor 350 is just so much better so thought the 650 would be even more so. How do you feel about the mismatched engine colours and the large headstock when viewed from the side? Those also put me off. The engine is a real beauty though. If the payload was a little better than 188KG I might be able to overlook the other issues, but putting it all together maybe not. Still, I will be watching your review. 👍
Oddly enough it has the same exact wheelbase as the Speedmaster, which looks rather compact in comparison to the Harley cruisers. Curious as to what setting you had your Speedmaster suspension on because I’m sure mine was trying to shatter my spine. Only thing I don’t like about this Royal Enfield is the offset plasticky dial and those funny looking exhausts. For the price though, it can’t be beaten.
Just a shame the close ups are blurred the focus seems to be in the distance then blurry around the speedometer when riding, have you changed equipment ?
Agree at 7:25 mins when I show the dash I had my pocket 3 camera on wrong focus, however the riding footage is clear as a bell as 4k 60fps, maybe select in your TH-cam settings in quality to highest 2160p60. I have also just watched on my 4k TV and the riding section is clear as a bell 👍
Slightly off topic: I've heard rumours the government are considering banning petrol engined motorcycles on British roads. Is there any truth in this, to your knowledge?
Like cars etc. The plan is to ban the sale of new ICE bikes from 2030/2035 (depending on engine size and of course which political party gets in at the general election later this year). MAG and others are pushing hard for motorcycles to be looked at separately to other vehicles as they should be considered part of the solution for sustainable transport in the future.
As Phil states, this is all I have heard of tbh. Dates will be pushed I’m sure again. I don’t think at our age we have much to worry on this subject but the future maybe
@@MOTOUK1 most bikes have Chinese components on them somewhere including even the Japanese bikes. So if your not buying Chinese im guessing people will have to do without biking. I'm planning on doing my bike test in the next 2 months and this bike is top of the shopping list.
It’s a great bike for sure 👍 good luck on your test 🤞

Neither me really but agree pricing is good for what you get. I guess why triumph have done the speed 400 and x
@@MOTOUK1 Absolutely
Strange place for the brake oil reservoir, never seen it situated there before....liked and thanks as always Nick....🏴

Yes I think in USA more cruisers so may not be as popular.

Take a look in description of this video all links are there th-cam.com/video/hz6CQ2nYqhs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0JEMGCdq8Kd1Y-eH
I see you have the 900 and bracket is different so the one I have the bar won’t work as made for the 1200

Hi 👋 good to know from an owner and your good self. So looking forward to dryer roads for sure. Ride safe 👍
Nice looking bike nick 👍
Thanks 👍
Very good, low key review....
Thanks 🙏
Thanks. Glad you like it. Find the bike somewhat lacking though good to dodder around on. Nasty instrumentation.

Forgot to add, low cut filter on or off?
Hi Graeme, I am using 3.5mm mic adapter and DJI 3.5mm lav mic not the DJI mic2. But on the bike action I use -5db or -6db on the camera gain. 👍
I wouldnt know as I don’t use the DJI mic 2 in my helmet set up.
Thanks so much for the instant reply.👍Much appreciated.

Yep cheers for that you tube settings default to auto which was 1080p oddly all good now cheers 👍

@@MOTOUK1 Thanks fella's. So it's all just another big load of b*llox then.
805mm seat height? You sure about that? Looks WAY lower.
My mistake apologies it’s 740mm
Bit too heavy and for what it is £7000 is OK but not that cheap.
I know my tiger 1200 is only 9kg heavier
I wouldn't buy a Chinese nor Indian bike.
Why not? 😊
Be good to know why you wouldn’t and what bike you ride now ?
