Keep in mind that the stated line of Kylo being better than Luke was with regard to Luke in "Empire Strikes Back," not Luke in his prime. Thus, the matchup was against a Luke who was only barely trained and potentially mentally unstable because he didn't know the full truth of who his father REALLY was. That's something very different from Luke in his prime.
For real Luke in his prime was pretty much a demigod

For while Canon Luke's prime will be hard to measure on WHEN that was, and definitely not in "the Last Jedi" where he was portrayed as mentally broken and out of practice, that doesn't necessarily mean even that Luke was weak.
For while Legends Luke could cast Force Illusions, he could often only manage them for relatively short distances and most Force adepts could ultimately catch on to the illusion fairly quickly... As seen in the Dark Empire comic series. Canon Luke could not only project an image of himself over lightyears of distance... but made it so that Kylo Ren could not even recognize that the Luke he fought on Crait wasn't real.
So in this, had Luke not mentally broken down... between "Return of the Jedi" and "the Force Awakens," he would have easily been a match for Kylo Ren... given how much trouble the illusion of a broken Luke gave him.
Your using a reference from TFA Ben who was injured. If you read the full quote. It mentions basically. “Even though Ben is injured. He can use that anger to power through Luke and defeat him.”
@@malchalati - Kylo was injured in "the Force Awakens," yes, but he'd only be able to overpower Luke during his time in "Empire Strikes Back," where he'd barely had any training, was impatient, and had no experience in a dedicated lightsaber duel. That was a very different Luke from even "Return of the Jedi," let alone the abilities that Luke had gained and mastered in order to teach Ben later. And a lot of that also ultimately shows in "the Last Jedi" where Kylo had trouble recognizing he was battling an illusion on Crait.
So Cal kestis can change his light saber from double bladed to dual blades like he knows every form of light saber
No, Cal probably has a mismatch style. He knows to Form 1 and probably mastered it to an insane degree, then picked up techniques from Force Echoes.
He at least is proficient in several by the end of the second game. Even so, knowing all forms doesn't mean success against an opponent who has mastered a particular form. Prime example being Yoda vs. Palpatine, despite Palpatine knowing all forms Yodas mastery, allowed him to prevail on the dueling side if their fight.

@@gerardocovarrubias3058plenty of Jedi can do it. Ashoka can do it. Revan could. Kenobi. Ventrese. Anakin. Most Jedi just didn't do it because it was dangerous to use mismatch styles in dangerous situations especially when they could just stick to what they know best. Keeping them safest.
Also. Cal wasn't a master of multiple styles. He just knew how to use a bit of different weapons in combat. That does not translate to mastery of lightsaber FORMS.

Cal slams hard, all he needs to do is close the distance and destroy Kylo in lightsaber combat.
As much as Kylo is more powerful in the force he doesn't have any experience close to Cal besides the amount of hax that Cal has, such as using the force to slow everything down, accelerated self healing and precognition... Cal is also consistently more skilled , countering stormtrooper fire at point-blank range.
Finally his equipment is much better, his robots would easily distract Kylo causing Cal to finish him off.
I would argue against that point about the hacks bc whatever cal can do Kylo can do 20x better. Lightsaber wise if we’re taking rise of skywalker kylo wins handily

No, all Kylo did in the movie was push and pull things with the Force, he doesn't have Cal's versatility.
Cal resisted Darth Vader even with great difficulty and using strategy to escape, Kylo would not dominate him.
Kylo can't beat him in lightsaber combat and Cal's robots will get in Kylo's way at all times.
You literally didn't give any reason to prove otherwise.

**SPOILERS** Cal wins.. he can easily beat the ninth sister, by the end of the game he's extremely powerful with the force and lightsaber techniques especially if he embraces the darkside, I mean Cals 2nd master Cere Junda was able to fight nearly on par with darth vader until her death which could've also nearly been Vaders death if not for his experience fighting jedi,
Jaro Tapol, Cere Junda, Eno Cordova and even malicous all of these masters have shared plenty of teachings with cal and he's studied & trained hard with all of them,
Cal is a very strong Jedi - Knight I know he could beat Kylo.

Depends if its urban or not. If spiderman has room to swing then he easily takes it. Even on the ground he would take it. Spidey sense is no joke.
I feel like Spider-Man would win that fight. Darth Maul as far as I'm aware hasn't shown any feats above Spidey.
@@Mike223istaken The force by far is his biggest weapon. Spiderman cant dodge the force. Maul has been able to easily pull tanks with his ability. The force does give hime precognition but its a very safe bet to say not even close to spiderman. Hes stated to be able to appear as a blur to the eye and can run much faster than a human. Hes dented durasteel with his hand which is weaker than titanium. Spiderman easily outclasses him physically and its not even close so it comes down to maul using the force.
@@DirtyStinky True due to how insane Spidey is. Spidey would have to knock out or kill Maul before Maul uses the force on him, which he is perfectly capable of doing, it's just that Spidey probably won't know how quickly he would need to take Maul down.

Please update the power rankings of both DCEU and MCU ( include X-men, suicide squad, venom, Deadpool,etc) and make a combined ranking of DC and Marvel please, is what we all are expecting.
As much as I love Cal and would love to see him trounce Kylo Ren…I did force myself to step back and really assess Ben Solo in the films.
Main basis for him being beaten by Rey? Two factors: one being that being a Dyad makes them evenly matched in potential, the other being that him being emotionally off balance by killing Han and physically impaired by taking a bowcaster to his side. Outside of that we see him match and later dominate her in a duel where Rey herself lost due to being emotionally off balance, and we see him tear apart Praetorian Guards and the Knights of Ren. So he isn’t incompetent by any means. He isn’t tested the way that we see a lot of other Jedi like Ahsoka, Kanan, Ezra, Luke, etc during their respective wars, but he isn’t a pushover. If anything, his connection to Rey is both a boon in how it grants him access to unparalleled powers through the Dyad, and a hindrance in how it forces him down to the same level as someone who realistically shouldn’t be his equal.
Iirc, there was a theory that Rey’s expertise was born from the moment that Kylo had tried to access her mind. In doing so it caused their Dyad bond to awaken, feeding his own training in the Force and use of a Lightsaber into her to bring her up to his level. Hence why she suddenly started using both like a natural. I still dislike the lack of progression, but the theory seemed sound to me.
So…going solely by MY OWN OPINION on this (y’all are free to disagree, just keep it civil).
Kylo Ren at the start of Force Awakens (29) vs Cal Kestis at the time of the start of Fallen Order (17): Kylo wins, low difficulty. He wouldn’t care to duel Cal or capture him, he’d likely freeze him in place and then kill him and move on. He’s more powerful, older, experienced, etc. I love Cal, but I wouldn’t bet on him in this scenario. Poor boy can barely use the Force at that point because his bond to it is damaged and he’d be touching a lightsaber for the first time in years. Worse yet his own psychometry could be used against him like with 2nd Sister’s lightsaber.
Kylo Ren at the end of Force Awakens (29) vs Cal Kestis at the end of Fallen Order (17): Cal wins, high difficulty. Between him being freshly off balance and wounded by Chewie, Cal would have a realistic chance of winning this. He’d just gone through a prolonged period where he was always fighting things from Stormtroopers and Bounty Hunters to Inquisitors and giant monsters. Kylo would still have superior power overall to carry him, but Cal mending his bond to the Force and coming to terms with the death of his master on top of learning to wield a dual bladed saber and make limited use of Jar’Kai puts him in a good position to win. I’d equate this to a boss fight on Grand Master difficulty: insanely hard but possible.
Kylo Ren at the start of Rise of Skywalker (30?) vs Cal Kestis at the start of Jedi Survivor (22): This one was harder. Kylo in RoS is a different creature from TFA or TLJ. He’s focused, in control and only Leia dying puts him off balance. But Cal has five years of active rebel activity that allowed him to curb stomp the 9th Sister. This could realistically go either way.
Ben Solo at the end of Rise of Skywalker (30?) vs Cal Kestis at the end of Jedi Survivor (22): once again this is harder to determine, but for different reasons. Ben Solo is shown to be a faster fighter than before, managing to take on multiple enemies at once and dispatch them with ease. But Cal not only has further improved his mastery of the Force and use of a lightsaber to cover five stances, he now is able to access the Dark Side to amplify his abilities in battle. Ben retains his overall superior maximum potential, but Cal has more feats and offensive options to call on. But I think I would give the win to Cal at an Extreme Diff victory.
Suggestion: Aubrey Taylor (American Crime) vs Amalia (Six Bullets)
This video pretty much highlights all the problems I have with Disney Star Wars and its fans. It's shallow and catered towards bored casuals who don't care about deeper stuff like lightsaber forms, branches of Force powers, Jedi/Sith training and philosophy, or even just analyzing in-depth a character's tactics, approach to a fight in terms of emotions and skills. It's just a boring list of feats without the context. "He did this in this comic", "He did that in the movies", "The movies visual guides says this, despite not matching what's on screen" . It's just......boring and uninteresting.
And you showcased why using Kylo Ren is a complete joke, because the movies portray him as an incredibly basic, generic Dark Jedi, but the comics and visual guides hype him up as this demigod who can choke people from across the galaxy, kill Zillo Beasts, level down massive stone buildings......Yet he loses to a girl who just picked up a lightsaber.
And even on Cal's analysis, it's just boring "He can use a normal saber, or two, or a double saber". So ? What about his training ? His tactics ? His mental state in a fight ?
This is why I'm sticking to Jensaarai and EvanNova95, they're just WAY better Star Wars versus channels, and they use only Expanded Universe and pre-Disney movie characters.

People seem to forget Cal Kestis got a couple of good hits on Vader before Vader overpowered him, but he survived. Many don't walk away from Lord vader. That alone is impressive. Also Kylo might be better than an old washed up luke but luke In his prime Would destroy Kylo.
Tbh you might have as well at least waited a month to make this, the new game’s feats heavily puts more into Cal’s favor. I’d recommend just doing a redux in a month or so tbh, because as of today these feats aren’t up to date.

I respect people’s opinions if they think cal wins but I personally don’t see how because Kylo Had years of training under Luke and Snoke 2 extremely powerful Bings and why yes he’s more Unstable and I think someone like Mual would beat Kylo I don’t see a Jedi with basically Padawan level training would be able to beat Kylo.

We all forget that there's a solid chance Cal is one of the people who trained Ben.
Example: Ben is the only other Canon Example of Using Force Slow/freeze besides Cal.

Lucifer wins easy, he is almost equal to the presence. You know God. CAS isn't even close to lucifer or Michael. Now another characters vs CAS that's a different story.
At least lorewise, Kylo Ren utterly destroys Cal Kestis, no matter how terrible his movies were.

Kylo carried the the new trilogy let's be honest.

In their primes i think kylo ren is a more powerful force user considering he is a descendant of anakin skywalker and is trained by arguebly most powerful jedi luke skywalker , in the rise of kylo ren comic he is able to best 3 of the jedis in luke skywalker's academy only by using the force this shows he is definitely an above average force user while cal kestis is an average force user yes i know cal , showed some great feats and i think his best feat is defeating dagan gera a high republic jedi , but he beat him using his lightsaber when we compare their lightsaber skills i think cal is slightly better but if we compare their force powers i think kylo ren is more powerful , yes cal kestis may have more variable force abilities that doesnt mean he is a more powerful force user to give an example to this , quinlan vos has the ability psychometry while yoda doesnt , does that make quinlan a more powerful force user than yoda ? Of course not. Overall i think kylo is a more powerful character it would be a very close fight but in the end kylo ren would be the victor.

@yrooxrksvi7142 based purley on light saber skills, kylo obviously outclasses cal in pure force abilities but his light saber skills are severely lacking, cal is faster and more agile a master of multiple forms of light saber combat and with his darkness amp is no slouch in the force either I'd even say he has better stasis feats then kylo as well. Cal also beat Rayvis someone who was able to beat multiple high republic jedi at once and was an equal to dagan a renowned high republic jedi Master who was amped by the dark side. And the high republic jedi were said to be the greatest era of jedi I really think cal is on his way to being a top tier in the verse.
@@ss3vegito999 Kylo "outclasses" Cal in raw power but definetely not in usage. He hardly ever uses telekinesis actively in a fight, only to react when someone uses it against him, or to beat someone into submission before the fight even begins. But Cal is simply way more versatile : he uses active Force Pushes to stagger enemies, Force pulls to drag stormtrooper squads towards him, lift and slam them, lightsaber throws. Has broken out of Force chokes from both Vader and Bode, used Dagan's Force illusion against him other than managing both his thrown saber and huge chunk of ceiling dropped on him. And yes, even his Force stasis feats might be comparable or better than Kylo. His Dark Rage mode is also quite the boost, since he can manhandle opponents effortlessly.
Kylo also has ZERO experience against trained Force users : as a Jedi, he only ever participated in sparring matches. As a Knight of Ren, he's a glorified Inquisitor who took on giant animals or hapless blaster-wielding foot soldiers. Cal has defeated two Inquisitors and three Dark Jedi, countless bounty hunters, Rayvis and his raiders, including the lightsaber-wielding ones, and several giant animals as well.
Cal is a Form 6 Niman specialist with a highly customizable lightsaber, Kylo has a broken, poorly repurposed crossguard saber and a middling Form 1/Form 5 practitioner.
Cal right now might be comparable to Kyle Katarn in Jedi Outcast or Obi Wan half-way through the Clone Wars. Not a top-tier, but amongst the best.
Kylo is an overhyped scrub with a bunch of OP feats but failed to repeat them them on a basis.

After Jedi Survivor it’d be very close imo. Cal is a beast and can beat Inquisitors easily, but Kylo Ren is super powerful as well, even though he was in bad movies.
I’d say Cal takes the edge just experience-wise
"we will be using both characters in their prime... this comes out before Jedi Survivor, so we won't be using any feats from that." So basically you want to claim and act like you're using Cal in his prime even though you're actually using Cal when he's just a Padawan
Kylo Wins He was trained by Luke and Snoke and the reason he lost to Rey was because she had plot armor
And has had no actual opponents besides Rey. Cal may have had just Palawan training but he still improved and was able to beat multiple inquisitors including second sister
@@jlpgamin Yes I agree with you that he didn’t get to show his true skill because of how the movies were written but it doesn’t change that Kylo was trained by some of the most powerful bings in the galaxy. Even if his skill wasn’t really shown in the movies or the books *yet*
He’s still extremely skilled and In my mind Ren could kill most if not all the inquisitors without to much effort. The inquisitors were trained to kill Jedi knights and padawan. They haven’t faced something like Ren

Pennywise vs Kylo ren because Penny could turn into the form of any force user to give Ben a good fight and if Kylo has fear (which we have seen in before) Penny Would Probably Wipe the Floor of Kylo But If sky Kylo gets mad or angry (which we have also seen) Then IT has not match for Ren 👍🏼
And ik you’ll think kylo ren would win easily but I think pennywise wins but it will shock you a lot but if you think. Yes but he only beats movie Kylo. In comics and lore wise he was stated to be a master duelist soloed an army and was compared to Anakin in terms of lightsaber combat. Man 3v1 3 skilled Jedi easily

17 y.o. Cal from FO maybe lacks in some raw power to hold up against massive strikes from Kylo, but 22 y.o. Cal from Survivor definitely wins. Plus he has blaster and a crossguard.

Cal is an average powered Jedi from before the purge with exceptional training, instinctive force use and the ability to hear force echoes.
Kylo Ren is one of the most powerful force users in history but is almost entirely untrained.
Finish the new game, he’s definitely above average. He’s no prodigy but calling him average is a downplay imo. If you don’t know his tests from the new game that’s fine but he’s clearly above average.

@@eeurr1306 I know I’m saying that Kylo would probably win, but also Cal could too. It’s 50/50 for me, I like Cal as a character way more but I’m just looking at both of their powers. And yes I completed the game twice, currently on 90% overall, I’m aware that Cal fully embraced the darkside towards the end, and that power boost alone could be more then enough to put Kylo away. Tbh I don’t see Kylo doing as good against Malicos or 2nd Sister because his crossguard stance is way too slow and aggressive. Cal could easily avoid his slow attacks, but asi said it could go either way for both of them.

But lore Kylo is a master duelist and incredibly powerful force user. It's not 50/50. Movies show his Crossguard stance as slow, (like Cals) but that's just a bad representation of his ability that show in comics and books.
I mean... Kylo got his arse kicked by a desert rat holding a lightsaber for the first time. This is not exacly a high bar to clear. Cal would win.
Also, as far as force stuff goes. I have seen Kylo hold one to two blaster bolts in stasis and he needed to stop fighting to do that. And it looked like it took effort. While Cal can hold as many blaster bolts in stasis as there are currently flying through the imperial hangar while slaughtering every droid and trooper in sight, I don't think it is even close?
