Jonathan great review! Ordering now. Here’s a recommendation: I just read the movie tie in for the up and coming D&D movie Honor Among Thieves - it’s a prequel called Road to Neverwinter. Get it! Lite read with lots of humor and makes me actually want to see the movie. Keep up the great work!
I felt like the story could have been an anyone story. As if the writer had a story with characters X, Y, and Z. The publisher said, I like it, but I need a Star Trek story. So X became Pike, Y became Una... I didn't feel it advanced the characters or the world of Star Trek. VERY stand-alone. Meh.
I have a video that I made in 2021 on that topic, but it doesn’t include this book. I also have a video coming out later this month talking about my collection, but it doesn’t rank the books.
@@joeespin4377 There are other people who do that. Almost all Star Trek books originally come out in paperback. The difference is this is an event book, in a similar way to the fact that the card books or event books, so they release them in Hardcover first and then Paperback later.
I’ll be honest if it weren’t for the author I’d have ZERO interest in this book. I did not like SNW at all but JJM just has a way to tell an interesting story (maybe they can consult with him on some story ideas for the show)
That’s how I kind of feel with the discovery books. Cannot stand the show, but the books aren’t bad. However, I’m at the point where I’m trying to read every single Star Trek novel that releases, so regardless of my feelings on the show I have to read the books anyway.

What are your Star Trek John Jackson Miller book rankings?

so, is this or any book in this series ever coming out in paperback?
Oh, of course. All of the hardcovers come out in paperback, just after about 6 months to a year, so as to let the hardcover sales run its course.
@@jonathankoan am i the only person that NEVER reads hardbacks or e books?
