    I see many lectures of civil engineering and all are good as your videos but one thing makes you different from them is that you answer and solve the all queries of students and while the other channels only answers 2 or 3 students queries

    As u had increase the diameter of the column as 420mm..so in case of finding out the 'Asc' why u considered the Ag as the older one. .

      Calculation of pich is as per the code is 456 2000. Of clause 39.4.1. page 71 and clause 26.5.3.2(d) page 49.

    Sir Area of helix m to longitudinal reinforcement nhi subtract krte h na

    • @Civillearningonline
      @Civillearningonline  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello dear,
      We need to subtract the area of longitudinal reinforcement from the area of helix.
      It is because inorder to calculate the pitch of the helix we only need to have the area of helix reinforcement.
      And one thing more,
      We have considered the the diameter of helix after subtracting (2x40mm) cover from both sides. And u can notice in the inside the core dia. Longitudinal reinforcement is also included. And that's why we need to subtract the area of longitudinal reinforcement.so that the pich of core can be calculated and the codal provision is satisfied.
      I hope i met your confusion.
      Thanks for your comment.
      Have a nice day.

      Yes bhai.
      So we need to take intermediate value (i. E. Neither large nor smaller).
      Hope you got it.
      And thanks for your query.👍

    • @Civillearningonline
      @Civillearningonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you are asked to design then you need to calculate upto the lateral ties and some checks. Do as shown in this video. It's sufficient.
      Remember: design means calculation of reinforcement.

    But 1.05 times means multiplied by 1.05, right?

    • @Civillearningonline
      @Civillearningonline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hello dear,
      First of all thanks for your comment.
      You are right that 1.05 times means multiply by 1.05.
      And when you come to read the clause 39.4 of is 456 it already mentioned that "strength of compression member with helical reinforcement = 1.05 Pu"
      Where Pu is strength of similar material with lateral ties.
      And initially we need to design longitudinal reinforcement before the helical reinforcement.
      That's why we need to the the steps
      (Given load x factor of safety)/1.05.
      And i hope you got your answer. Do comment when you face any kind of difficulty. Stay connected with civil learning online.
      Have a nice day.
