I made a steel plate and put a magnet on it and it literally pulls the keepers off for you, I do recommend the aluminum on going back in though makes it easier
I've got some experience w/MOPAR 440s...I like the "tap method" to ensure keepers & retainers are seated!😃 Also, that aluminum tool is fantastic! 👍 My thought is perhaps applying a magnet to top of valve will magnetize it enough to "draw" the keepers? 🤔 Dunno. Thx!
do you happen to a measurement from bottom of chainsaw file to bottom of the tape? just so i can make one and have the reassurance that im not going to drop a valve when doing my spring and retainers.

hey wonder is it hard to replace valve steam ?? the way u use special tool ....and 4 valve each cylinder will closed all 4 when Piston is on TDC . Kool I will order those tool nice have one
So now that I have replaced springs and pushrods in my truck and did the valve lash and a couple 100 miles on starting to notice a clattering noise like maybe valve lash. Do you think I should do a valve lash check? Is there a break in period and maybe need an adjustment again?
I bought Hamilton pushrods for my 6.7. Can I use the factory tappets with new pushrods? I only have 29,000 miles or should I replace them to. Do I have to compress air I to cylinder so valves dont drop?

Maybe assembly grease would make the retainers easier to place and forget?
Those plugs got drilled circle with a whole saw and an aluminum blank with just like the freeze plug deals from power driven.

Did you use any engine assembly lube for the springs and push rods or just motor oil where needed?
what's the difference between the 103 springs & 105s trying to figure out what would be better ?I'm pushing about 700hp on stock cam
Is their anything additional you have to do to fit those extreme duty push rods when replacing stock pushrods? Or will the bigger diameter fit

It's easy enough to get in there i'd double check the lash, I'd also double check the torque on the rocker arms.

You can reuse the tappets. Just put the cylinder your doing at top dead center and that will keep the valves from drooping

You pull the number 1 injector and put the rod in that hole,,, rotate the engine till the rod is all the way up and just starts to fall,
did you have to do anything to keep the valves from dropping, or did you just be careful
Rotated the crank till the Piston is at TDC. The Piston will keep the valves from dropping.

Very well made tool. Well worth the $$ especially if you’ve ever used one of the cheaper steel ones. I’ve also used their tool for the VP44 install.

After 1 and 6 turn the motor a little till the next pistons are up. Just set 1 and 6 at tdc and make a measurement tool so you know your good
