      Love platforms, and there are loads out there that look very chic and stylish, especially those "Oxford-ish" ones, like the Prada does, can elevate a plain suit perfectly! Same goes with wedges. What is totally passé and (probably, hopefully) never coming back is the pump version of platform, the Lady Gaga style if you know what I mean, making your feet look like huge duckfeet😁 Other than that, wear your wedges as it makes you feel good!👍

    I do like tie-dye patterns that stick to my rules: no rainbow palettes or starbursts. I like the one color on a white base ones, and they are making great ones that look like soft stripes, chain patterns, etc. I just bought a beautiful white and pale blue silk shirt in a subtle tie-dye, it looks almost like a soft sky and cloud pattern, there is very low contrast between the blue and white and I love it. I think the bolder the patterns, and the greater the number and strength of the colors, the more quickly they look dated.

      I have 15 sweat suits, some are very casual and I wear them at home. I have others that are much nicer and with a nice set of athletic shoes I would wear them to run to target for a quick run. I am disabled and I have fibromyalgia and clothes that are itchy or tight or too warm all can ruin an outing. I also have issues with my balance so heels are something I rarely wear. And spanks,skims whatever you call your shape wear. It also makes my stomach hurt, sometimes my back too. I am trying to say Don't judge everyone! You have no idea how much pain they are in. If wearing a track suit is the difference between me getting to go out. I am wearing the tracksuit. And the same with makeup, I love makeup but I only have so much energy so should I spend it on eyeshadow or having lunch with a friend? I will keep my tyedye and my Journey also.

    If you want coffee table books, choose books that are actually classic novels with neutral covers. Not everything has to be Tom Ford and Chanel. I think it says more about you when you display actual novels rather than style icon books. Especially if you’re somewhat poor. You aren’t fooling anybody. Gardening books are also a lovely choice.

      I have one on flower arranging and a potato themed cook book. Mostly because the colours go in my living room but it's also I find them more useful as a talking point when people come over, they want to pick them up or talk about them. I think it's better to reflect your interests rather that use someone else's personality/character as a stand in for your own.

      To me, the best choice of coffee table book is one that reflects the interests and style of the homeowner/s. I have one that is literally about the history of coffee culture; and a similar historical overview of swimming pools. They’re both good reads with beautiful imagery, but also suit our coastal home and my love of coffee, to a tee 🤌🏼💗

      🛍️ I would never frame a Chanel shopping bag to impress anyone. That is pathetic😖.
      🤔I might, however, treat a Tiffany's blue signature box 🎁 that came with a gift as a prize worthy of museum quality display.
      Not only would it be done in celebration of a 💗cherished moment 💍, it might even inspire me to add a beloved 📷 photo of Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly right next to it. That's how to 🥰marry magic 🪄, memory📸, and movies🎬❕
      ♥️Homage is 💯% accurate. Glamour is a part of my make-up & madness❣️ Using a logo as decor would be the highest form of tribute. It would be a nod to the contribution of haute couture🥻, in 🎥 film, media, on the runway, and in my life. 🏆As appreciation for all the years of beauty and spectacle they have given me.
      💞 Love of graphics & typography are also a part of 🎭Pop Art🎨. It's a passion steeped in it's own fascinating historical detail, incl. the development of print, production, and advertising art. It comes with a specific commercial context.
      ☂️Under the umbrella of Pop Art, you can also find 🪧Word Art. It appeals to 🧑‍🏫scholars, 👩‍💻nerds the 🙏devout, 🌹romantics, cheeky ppl😁 and much more.
      📖 A true bibliophile or lexiophile will like seeing their favorite poetry, verse or word expressed in some sort 🧱 wall art🖼️ or on a t-shirt 👕.
      🔔I whole-heartedly believe in the sanctity of freedom of speech & artistic expression. 🤝I also staunchly believe in civility, courtesy and consideration over contempt.
      I do not 🎊celebrate misogyny. 🤬Hate the double standard in language that denigrates
      ♀️ females for the same freedom of sexuality that ♂️males are heralded🛡️.
      👭 I will support other women who use those foul terms (mentioned in this video📲) playfully or satirically to poke at that oppression.
      😠Not as thrilled when any female uses those vile terms to characterize their own sexuality (i.e., participate in their own exploitation). 😡Worse, if they sling them as a 🗡️lethal weapon toward other women👎.
      😔One unfortunate reality about anything in popular culture (i.e., low brow society🍻) are often denigrated by those who feel a superiority over them (i.e., high brow society🥂). That speaks of elitism & classism.
      👩‍💼Leading tastemakers tend to promote the highest quality, hand-crafted, sustainably sourced, responsibly made, bespoke goods 💰 that few ppl can afford🤑.
      They historically rejected commercialism, sensationalism, mass produced goods, and sentimentality😍. They openly sneered at folks who valued the ordinary over the extraordinary.
      🤔To me, that thinking easily translates into:
      Popularity =s Negativity
      Exclusivity =s Positivity
      So by definition, Pop Culture is tacky. Period. The 💕 love 💕 of it is an even more egregious and reprehensible offense🤮.
      😱The other unfortunate side of pop culture is knowing when a fad has played out. Buh-bye👋.
      Frederique's 80/20 formula for classic vs popular design will also work outside your wardrobe.
      🏠Keep 80% focus on timeless home decor. You want it appear as if you gracefully acquired a series of quality pieces over the ages (as time and budget would allow). While 20% of your budget can be spent on 🔥hot trends that coordinate with your style.
      In 👗fashion & decor 🛋️, you always need an element of freshness. 😵You've gotta know when something has passed it's "sell by" date 📅, and it's time to toss. Not in the trash🗑️, but donate for someone else to use, treasure or repurpose ♻️.
      Fashion is fickle. Nothing is 💯% sacred. Set aside your most beloved decor (or garments) for future rotation when the trend resurfaces. Hopefully, you won't be caught with fatal floral 💐 on your watch 👀❕

But for garments - there are some super classy items I literally have for 20 years: a long black coat, a straight leather trousers, a leather coat and jacket. And for example, there is a about 50-60 years old pure silk red prom dress, my grandfather (he was a tailor) made for my mother, when she was young. It's still GORGEOUS!
    And with jewellery - I'm in my 40s now and have worn all my life cheap silver jewellery. A couple of years ago I started to treat myself with earrings, rings and necklaces in solid gold, some have diamonds. And gosh it makes such a difference and these pieces are forever 🤗💕

    I'm with you on platform shoes. They look ridiculous on 99% of the women I see wearing them. Great video!

    I like to use the shopping bags, to mail parcels. I wrap the box inside out. The shopping bags are usually a nice thick quality paper, and works perfectly

    I have a little French in my dna, my great grandfather was a famous French hunter and trapper that moved to America in the 1800’s and bought 300 acres of farm land in Maine. I’m a new subscriber and I’m really enjoying your channel! I hope you hit the 100K subscriber mark soon.💖✨

    I normally upcycle big prints into tote bags to shop at a farmers market :) it takes about 20 min to make, useful practical item, and I feel good about giving a second life to garment I don't wear anymore
