L'ultimo vero grandissimo tenore drammatico! Senza la fanfara mediatica che accompagna alcuni improbabili tenori di oggi. In teatro era esaltante e faceva nascere un vero tifo da stadio. Grazie Bepi!

Qui aveva 52 anni. Ci sono su youtube altre Norma in cui era più giovane ed era ancora meglio: Martina franca 1977 con Grace Bumbry e Macerata 1980 con Caballe' opere complete.

@@lydiaguarro Jajaja, usted es una fanática además de tener mucha inquina con otro tenor que era puro arte ya sabe a quien me refiero. Idolatrar a un tenor con una pésima técnica, que trucaba agudos en estudios que no tenía reparos en cantar repertorio inadecuado, que ha utilizado el marketing de manera feroz para hacerse popular y a otro como Pippo, que tuvo un declive vocal rapidísimo y que cantaba de manera exagerada todo lo que interpretaba, demuestra su mal gusto y su fanatismo.

No me digas. Justamente por eso es extrordinario como llega a los agudos. Compara con Kaufman ( tsmbien de color oscuro) y tendras la diferencia.
Claro. Son los tenores de voz grave, dramáticos, de color oscuro. Pero lo fascinante es como llegan al agudo.

It was that B. was not composing for the kind of modern, Radamès type general we imagine as ideal, because that voice didn’t yet exist, and that kind of tenor finds it beyond difficult to sing the ‘do di petto’ in the middle if a phrase. The voice he did have in mind would sound wimpy to our ears because, as you say, he would have sung the high notes in ‘voix mixte’ or frank falsetto.

Habría que ver para que tenor escribió Bellini (Rubini tal vez?).
Ha scritto il ruolo per un baritenore ho letto, quindi non per Rubini. Per chi non le saprei dire. Giacomini con il timbro scuro si avvicina all'idea, anche se non era un baritenore. Qui aveva già 52 anni. L'ho ascoltato in versioni in cui era più giovane ed era ancora meglio.
