Man you can barely see the shoulder patches on that Devils jersey, that turns me off it. I wouldn't have ranked Montreal as high as you did, probably would put them 15-10 somewhere.
This could have already been said but I'm pretty sure with that template, that's just the set size of the collar and it can't be changed. Unless you keep the larger collar ring the same color as the shoulders I don't think there's any way around that on the designers' end
The size of the collar can it be changed. however the collar does not have to be all one color. it can be cut in half to make it appear as the collar is not as thick.
The black yellow and red Vancouver with the orca logo makes perfect sense considering orcas are black and white, not blue and green. Also the penguins need an alternate with that grey logo as the primary.
Vancouver one is P-E-R-F-E-C-T, and that Detroit!!! I am a Wings fan, and I think it looks great, different enough but not too crazy (something hard to pull off with Original 6's), and overall nice choice of colors/logos!
Issac the infamous yeah, now that you say that. Maybe just go to the classic almost overexposed tones of the north starts jerseys and add a bit of white. Then that would be great. And get rid of the white slashes at the top of the main logo and instead put a North Star.
1. Buffalo Sabres, I 100% agree that if the logo was moved up/made a bit larger it would be flawless! 2. That Bruins one is so good, I particularly loved the large solid yellow color blocking. 3. Arizona! I can definitely see the "cutesy" factor in it but for me it's not an issue, love all the detail and the fresh take.
Canucks primary logo is so perfect, the jersey overall has a Calgary blasty look to it. The devils pitchfork logo on the shoulder has an Arizona St. vibe to it.
i actually like the striking collars. it's an interesting contrast that works on most jerseys for me. i totally get why you're not a fan of them though
I'm not artistic in any way, but a fun jersey concept series would be: nhl jerseys in collegiate color schemes. Detroit does a college night every now and then for michigan colleges and gives away hats with the wings logo in the college color schemes. So, for me I picture a traditional-ish detroit jersey in University of Michigan colors where primary color is blue, primary logo un the UofM maize. The UofM block "M" as shoulder patches and the back of the collar having a saying they're known for "Hail" as in the fight song hail to the victors. It would be a fun collection to see.
I think the Wild jersey would work better if the figure out a good way to use the trees to make an M with that w bellow it. I do kinda like the shiels look. just curious but is that the same shape as a forest rangers badge??? if so even more awesome!
As a Nucks fan I love that concept. The only thing I did not like on it was the shoulder patches. Maybe have them both the same patch? I'd like to see it with a colourised stick in rink logo I think.

Minnesota: LOVE the new logo and identity, but can't help but think the striping could use some white but its a minor quarrel. Philadelphia: opposite of their Stadiuk Series from a couple years ago. Better version of my 2 toned black version. Thumbs up. Colorado: I like the retooling of the logo. Jersey is a bit basic tho. Columbus Blue Jackets: The logo is AWESOME. However the jersey is a bit plain. San Jose Sharks: I dont think there's a way you can improve their Stealth jersey, this does not unfortunately. Nashville: another very basic jersey. I don't understand Neil's complaints with the collar.... its literally the Adidas template.... Winnipeg: I like this one. Striping is plain but nice. Buffalo: logo is indeed too low, but the striping is decent. Chicago: You can't improve on the Winter Classic. Sorry bud. Boston: Holy Giant Stripes. But it works for the old school logo. I like it. Toronto: Looks like a recoloring of the Sabres one. Marlies logo on the shoulders is questionable tbh tho. Montreal: Stripes seem a bit too low to me, but I like the Maroons throwback as well as the nod to the old Quebec team. Vegas: I enjoy the castle motif, but it seems a bit off to me but I can't quite place why. Maybe its the black sleeve... or the gold stripe. Lack of red.... i don't know. Its a mixed bag for me. Vancouver: the combining of the logos is unique but works. I think the striping needs work just because its too similar from others, but taking that out its nice! St. Louis: reminds me if the 2016 All Star jersey....as well as the Vegas jersey Tyler had simply because of the striping.... not a big fan of this one Rangers: The original Liberty jersey was plain, so it works for this... i actually like the white shoulders here. It works. Capitals: Stadium Series retooled, same place I drew my inspiration from. But I agree with Neil. An outline with the logo would be better. New Jersey: I like the branding. The new NJ logo is nice, the devil patch is weird... not bad but just unexpected(?) The other logo is interesting but maybe a bit too thin or small. Overall its very nice tho. Anaheim: This looks like the Quad City Mallards from the old UHL and ECHL days... it is also a miss from me. Islanders: I hope you designed these logos on white and just had a hard time cutting them out... because the logos have been the best part of these. The striping on this one is decent. Like mine, the 2 toned blue i think looks good for the Isles. Hurricanes: Again, the logo is awesome, the retooled main logo on the shoulder is cool. Striping again looks taken from other concepts in this pack. LA: basic stripes work, the crown on the bottom of the sleeves is interesting, maybe could be up higher. Its a thumbs up. Tampa Bay: The lightning bolt stripes on the sleeves would be interesting on the back side... but isn't done well enough in my opinion. Edmonton: striping is similar to their current 3rds, logo is ok as a secondary but i don't think works as a main. Not bad tho Florida: I like the FP logo, but maybe should be gold and red to match the jersey... doesn't look great. Pittsburgh: The mix of the yellow logo and the grey logo throws me off... maybe swap the 2? If you're gonna recolor the logo to grey tho, you need grey in striping I think. Detroit: a grey concept is different in a good way. The flag doesn't fit... i don't understand it as part of the Red WIngs identity. If it was on the Capitals jersey or the Rangers it would make more sense I think... but i like the grey look for Detroit... looks kind of industrial.... Dallas: LOVE IT. My favorite by far. Throwback to the North Stars, but granted, you can't have both Dallas and Minnesota with the same colors... there will be riots in the streets of Minnes..... wait there already are..... there will be riots on the internet from Minnesota fans. BUT I like this one. 2 thumbs up. Ottawa: harkining back to the Centennial Classic jersey, like I did. As an alternate I like it. Don't hate the logo in front. Arizona: I don't know what Neil was thinking.... I like that logo, both of them for that matter. Striping needs work still. Alot of basic striping. So, alot of good ideas but a bit too basic for alot of these. Staying basic isn't bad per say, but don't be afraid to change up the stripes. Good start though, and you can definitely build on these.
My number 1 jersey is the Rangers. I love the liberty logo and the White shoulders works for me... top 5: Rangers. Sharks. Canadiens. Devils. Kings. ... with the current Minnesota Wild logo, I see a wolf.
In PEI where I lived for a long time Foxes are extremely abundant there because they have no natural predators. There are so many and they are so nice that they come right up to you.
My top 5 are 1) Vancouver (wish they go back to that color scheme) 2) Montreal ( original 6 team but needs update) 3) New Jersey ( pretty cool) 4) Colorado ( wish they make the alternate logo the main logo and move the A logo to the shoulder) 5) LA ( nice mix of old and new)
My favorite is the Canucks. I think it's amazing I think that Vancouver should total use that logo. As a Habs fan I don't really like the Canadiens jersey. I don't like the color or the M in the middle. But as a Hab fan I would love someone to come up with a nice alternate logo
never saw devils as number 1. as a devils fan most of the concepts weren't very good. this is by far the best devils concept I've seen. still waiting for jersey to make a black jersey. good job Tyler. thanks Neil for the content, don't sleep on relish on your hotdogs
Interesting editing idea maybe you can use is record you thinking about how you would rank the jerseys and speed it up like a transition between your reactions and your rankings. What are your thoughts on that Neil?
I like the Devils Jersey .. but for me i need to see a lil bit of white in there ... either int he main logo or between the red int he stripes.. but like it as is as well.
Nitpicking, but the Ohio state flag has two points on it instead of one. The logo for Columbus doesn't really reflect that. Love the Canucks and Jets concepts. I generally hate that Jets script logo, but I think it's because of the blueberry color of those jerseys. I like the way it looks on the navy blue with the "Winnipeg in the underline."
Tyler, got job. I respect the creative artists who submit their work for exposure while risking critique. I like a “thick collar” as Neil puts it. I too think the collar should use a secondary color and stand out as a different element on the jersey. Neil pointed out no numbers on the jerseys and I noticed a generic captain’s C on nearly all. Those are areas to express a team’s individuality, an opportunity missed for many of these concepts. Detroit: Big points for color and logo. It’s something different for a team stuck in their ways. The thin red line flag as a patch is a loaded choice. It’s associated with support for American firefighters, which isn’t bad but also not something associated with the Red Wings. It is also the firefighter equivalent of the thin blue line flag, which supports police but as a counter movement to Black Lives Matter. I don’t believe it belongs here. AZ: Not enough personality in the jersey. The new logo is too cute. EDM: The logo says “eye drops” rather than Oilers. ANA: The logo is interesting and there are many small thin lines. It seems a bit small for the jersey. It also has a baseball feel to it more so than hockey. WASH: The blue logo on a blue jersey feels like an incomplete. NYI: The logo is more Fish and Chips joint than a sports franchise. I like the striping. St. L: That is a St. Louis Rams hockey jersey w/ a Blues logo. Which I kinda dig. Not sure if the fans would appreciate it or see it as salt in their football wounds. NASH: Lacking personality. I get other designers have embraced the six string guitar motif, but it works for the team. Without it, there isn’t anything to take its place. I love the color pallet. VEGAS: The concept is balanced to one side w/ the single shoulder patch to the C to the logo. I like the use of gray in the logo and jersey. You’ve simplified a team which has shown a lot of details in their actual designs. TOR: The Crown Royale logo is what Neil was thinking of. It is where your eye goes because the team as a mono-chromatic theme. Any color introduced becomes the focus. But I like it. TB: It’s got a 90’s feel to it, which works for a Florida team. I dig the arms. They’re gimmicky and silly, but I like them. PHIL: It’s a clean and safe Flyers look. I would like to see the Liberty Bell as the primary just for something different. MN: I like the colors, the stripes, the patterns and aesthetic. The new logo is not an improvement on the current. Like Neil I searched for a hidden image, and I don’t think it is there. The owl isn’t intentional. The badge shape of the logo does bring to mind a Forest Ranger, which is any interesting direction for a Wilds concept, but not one really explored here. The two shoulder patches are more WNBA than NHL. DALLAS: its desert meets Star Trek. The bleached cow skull is almost more NJ Devils than Dallas Stars. You could replace the green and yellow with red and submit this for NJ. As it is the skull with black feels more San Antonio than Dallas. PITT: The white captain C distracts me as the only use of white. The duplication of the logo as patches feels repetitive. FLORIDA: If the idea is to have the blue on the panther match the blue on the jersey, than it is a miss. Also the shoulder patch of the F into the P looks a lot like the quickly dropped Trump/Pence 2016 logo wherein the T penetrated the P. But maybe Florida would be into that. BOSTON: Sometimes simple works. The C matches the B. I prefer the big B to the spoked wheel. I like this. NYR: A great design. I think making the shoulders rather than the collar white is a smart choice as it brings balance to the look. BUF: Going with the 90’s color scheme takes balls. Avoiding the white takes brains. I think shoulder numbers would break up the black overload on the arms. I would also like to see a red stroke around the captain’s C WINNI: Clean, balanced, and pretty. OTTAWA: Probably my favorite. It’s regal without being load, as a Senators concept should be. The primary logo placement works. It has a patriotic feel and a proud place in the team’s history. COL: A pretty familiar look to an Avalanche concept. The logo was tweaked subtly and I would have like to see more liberties taken with that direction. SJ: The focal point again like Pittsburgh is that white C. There isn’t enough contrast in the concept. Perhaps sharpening the shark’s eyes or a bit more color in the patches. CHI: Personally I think the B&W Blackhawks look is too lacking, but this is a respectful and clean look. Here the C is done well and the lack of numbers feels appropriate. CALGARY: I miss the province and Canadian flags. I think they’re staples of the team and should be present, but aside from that there is a lot of love on this look. COLUMBUS: Great new primary. Feels classic and new simultaneously. However the soldier’s chevrons on the cuff of his jacket is inverted, pointing up towards his elbow. The chevron on the jersey is pointed towards the hands. Either move the chevron up above the elbow or flip them. Minor tweak, great look. CAROLINA: The dark gray instead of black is a miss for me. I would prefer a shade lighter if we’re doing gray or just go black. The logo again doesn’t say sports franchise to me. I see more clean-up vendor. Perhaps guys who install hurricane shutters. LA: The sleeves are goofy, but fun enough to work. I like the colors. I’d like to see something on the shoulders given the team’s history and variety of past logos. Your choice in primary is nice. Given the primary is stroked in white I would like to see a thin white stripe perhaps breaking up the thick yellow stripe in the jersey. VAN: *clap* *clap* just creative in all the right ways. Feels like the proper step forward in the team’s evolution. MONT: Another really well balanced win. Perhaps an off-white or a pale cream color would give it more pop, but I think the choice of maroon works so well. NJ: It’s a really good concept. The tweak to the logo really helps. The choice to go monochromatic is smart as the red and black feel dangerous without the white. The shoulder patches are wonderfully creative. Though, the team is named for the mythical Jersey devil rather than the red-hot’s guy type devil. But it is so well done.
Are you kidding me that would be fantastic if Vancouver would make the skating Killer Whale as their Uniform I love the colors I really wish they would do this! The Blues Uni would work with the white with pants being white also.. I agree we need a team with purple as their color and the LA Kings need to go back to their roots.. Dallas Stars the Bull is COOL but get rid of the Star Trek symbol behind it and all would be NICE!
It makes me wonder why New Jersey doesn't have a black alternate, and they keep insisting on churning out their 80's Christmas look over and over again. This is proof positive that they need a black uni. Also, I really like the Vancouver jersey. I wonder how it would look in red - or, dare I say it, yellow...
I agree that would be interesting, but to do it right I'd want to spend 3-4 hours on one concept and I just don't have that available free time at the moment. I would be sacrificing 4-5 video releases to do that.
You said the Montreal jersey goes into their roots because the M could be for Maroons or Montreal. That jersey basically looks like a mashup of every team that's been a localized rival of the Canadiens. The Maroons, the Nordiques and even the Quebec Bulldogs. The Maroons aren't really a part of Montreal Canadiens roots other than being their rival.

Nashville: another very basic jersey. I don't understand Neil's complaints with the collar.... its literally the Adidas template....
Winnipeg: I like this one. Striping is plain but nice.
Buffalo: logo is indeed too low, but the striping is decent.
Chicago: You can't improve on the Winter Classic. Sorry bud.
Boston: Holy Giant Stripes. But it works for the old school logo. I like it.
Toronto: Looks like a recoloring of the Sabres one. Marlies logo on the shoulders is questionable tbh tho.
Montreal: Stripes seem a bit too low to me, but I like the Maroons throwback as well as the nod to the old Quebec team.
Vegas: I enjoy the castle motif, but it seems a bit off to me but I can't quite place why. Maybe its the black sleeve... or the gold stripe. Lack of red.... i don't know. Its a mixed bag for me.
Vancouver: the combining of the logos is unique but works. I think the striping needs work just because its too similar from others, but taking that out its nice!
St. Louis: reminds me if the 2016 All Star jersey....as well as the Vegas jersey Tyler had simply because of the striping.... not a big fan of this one
Rangers: The original Liberty jersey was plain, so it works for this... i actually like the white shoulders here. It works.
Capitals: Stadium Series retooled, same place I drew my inspiration from. But I agree with Neil. An outline with the logo would be better.
New Jersey: I like the branding. The new NJ logo is nice, the devil patch is weird... not bad but just unexpected(?) The other logo is interesting but maybe a bit too thin or small. Overall its very nice tho.
Anaheim: This looks like the Quad City Mallards from the old UHL and ECHL days... it is also a miss from me.
Islanders: I hope you designed these logos on white and just had a hard time cutting them out... because the logos have been the best part of these. The striping on this one is decent. Like mine, the 2 toned blue i think looks good for the Isles.
Hurricanes: Again, the logo is awesome, the retooled main logo on the shoulder is cool. Striping again looks taken from other concepts in this pack.
LA: basic stripes work, the crown on the bottom of the sleeves is interesting, maybe could be up higher. Its a thumbs up.
Tampa Bay: The lightning bolt stripes on the sleeves would be interesting on the back side... but isn't done well enough in my opinion.
Edmonton: striping is similar to their current 3rds, logo is ok as a secondary but i don't think works as a main. Not bad tho
Florida: I like the FP logo, but maybe should be gold and red to match the jersey... doesn't look great.
Pittsburgh: The mix of the yellow logo and the grey logo throws me off... maybe swap the 2? If you're gonna recolor the logo to grey tho, you need grey in striping I think.
Detroit: a grey concept is different in a good way. The flag doesn't fit... i don't understand it as part of the Red WIngs identity. If it was on the Capitals jersey or the Rangers it would make more sense I think... but i like the grey look for Detroit... looks kind of industrial....
Dallas: LOVE IT. My favorite by far. Throwback to the North Stars, but granted, you can't have both Dallas and Minnesota with the same colors... there will be riots in the streets of Minnes..... wait there already are..... there will be riots on the internet from Minnesota fans. BUT I like this one. 2 thumbs up.
Ottawa: harkining back to the Centennial Classic jersey, like I did. As an alternate I like it. Don't hate the logo in front.
Arizona: I don't know what Neil was thinking.... I like that logo, both of them for that matter. Striping needs work still. Alot of basic striping.
So, alot of good ideas but a bit too basic for alot of these. Staying basic isn't bad per say, but don't be afraid to change up the stripes. Good start though, and you can definitely build on these.
Love the Canucks and devil's Jersey.
Torontos shoulder patches is actually the Marlies logo. And the drink your thinking of is crown royal.

My number 1 jersey is the Rangers. I love the liberty logo and the White shoulders works for me... top 5: Rangers. Sharks. Canadiens. Devils. Kings. ... with the current Minnesota Wild logo, I see a wolf.

In PEI where I lived for a long time Foxes are extremely abundant there because they have no natural predators. There are so many and they are so nice that they come right up to you.

My favorite is the Canucks. I think it's amazing I think that Vancouver should total use that logo. As a Habs fan I don't really like the Canadiens jersey. I don't like the color or the M in the middle. But as a Hab fan I would love someone to come up with a nice alternate logo

Nitpicking, but the Ohio state flag has two points on it instead of one. The logo for Columbus doesn't really reflect that.
Love the Canucks and Jets concepts. I generally hate that Jets script logo, but I think it's because of the blueberry color of those jerseys. I like the way it looks on the navy blue with the "Winnipeg in the underline."
Quad city mallards win! Weagle should have been navy to make it stand out I think.
Tyler, got job. I respect the creative artists who submit their work for exposure while risking critique. I like a “thick collar” as Neil puts it. I too think the collar should use a secondary color and stand out as a different element on the jersey. Neil pointed out no numbers on the jerseys and I noticed a generic captain’s C on nearly all. Those are areas to express a team’s individuality, an opportunity missed for many of these concepts.
Detroit: Big points for color and logo. It’s something different for a team stuck in their ways. The thin red line flag as a patch is a loaded choice. It’s associated with support for American firefighters, which isn’t bad but also not something associated with the Red Wings. It is also the firefighter equivalent of the thin blue line flag, which supports police but as a counter movement to Black Lives Matter. I don’t believe it belongs here.
AZ: Not enough personality in the jersey. The new logo is too cute.
EDM: The logo says “eye drops” rather than Oilers.
ANA: The logo is interesting and there are many small thin lines. It seems a bit small for the jersey. It also has a baseball feel to it more so than hockey.
WASH: The blue logo on a blue jersey feels like an incomplete.
NYI: The logo is more Fish and Chips joint than a sports franchise. I like the striping.
St. L: That is a St. Louis Rams hockey jersey w/ a Blues logo. Which I kinda dig. Not sure if the fans would appreciate it or see it as salt in their football wounds.
NASH: Lacking personality. I get other designers have embraced the six string guitar motif, but it works for the team. Without it, there isn’t anything to take its place. I love the color pallet.
VEGAS: The concept is balanced to one side w/ the single shoulder patch to the C to the logo. I like the use of gray in the logo and jersey. You’ve simplified a team which has shown a lot of details in their actual designs.
TOR: The Crown Royale logo is what Neil was thinking of. It is where your eye goes because the team as a mono-chromatic theme. Any color introduced becomes the focus. But I like it.
TB: It’s got a 90’s feel to it, which works for a Florida team. I dig the arms. They’re gimmicky and silly, but I like them.
PHIL: It’s a clean and safe Flyers look. I would like to see the Liberty Bell as the primary just for something different.
MN: I like the colors, the stripes, the patterns and aesthetic. The new logo is not an improvement on the current. Like Neil I searched for a hidden image, and I don’t think it is there. The owl isn’t intentional. The badge shape of the logo does bring to mind a Forest Ranger, which is any interesting direction for a Wilds concept, but not one really explored here. The two shoulder patches are more WNBA than NHL.
DALLAS: its desert meets Star Trek. The bleached cow skull is almost more NJ Devils than Dallas Stars. You could replace the green and yellow with red and submit this for NJ. As it is the skull with black feels more San Antonio than Dallas.
PITT: The white captain C distracts me as the only use of white. The duplication of the logo as patches feels repetitive.
FLORIDA: If the idea is to have the blue on the panther match the blue on the jersey, than it is a miss. Also the shoulder patch of the F into the P looks a lot like the quickly dropped Trump/Pence 2016 logo wherein the T penetrated the P. But maybe Florida would be into that.
BOSTON: Sometimes simple works. The C matches the B. I prefer the big B to the spoked wheel. I like this.
NYR: A great design. I think making the shoulders rather than the collar white is a smart choice as it brings balance to the look.
BUF: Going with the 90’s color scheme takes balls. Avoiding the white takes brains. I think shoulder numbers would break up the black overload on the arms. I would also like to see a red stroke around the captain’s C
WINNI: Clean, balanced, and pretty.
OTTAWA: Probably my favorite. It’s regal without being load, as a Senators concept should be. The primary logo placement works. It has a patriotic feel and a proud place in the team’s history.
COL: A pretty familiar look to an Avalanche concept. The logo was tweaked subtly and I would have like to see more liberties taken with that direction.
SJ: The focal point again like Pittsburgh is that white C. There isn’t enough contrast in the concept. Perhaps sharpening the shark’s eyes or a bit more color in the patches.
CHI: Personally I think the B&W Blackhawks look is too lacking, but this is a respectful and clean look. Here the C is done well and the lack of numbers feels appropriate.
CALGARY: I miss the province and Canadian flags. I think they’re staples of the team and should be present, but aside from that there is a lot of love on this look.
COLUMBUS: Great new primary. Feels classic and new simultaneously. However the soldier’s chevrons on the cuff of his jacket is inverted, pointing up towards his elbow. The chevron on the jersey is pointed towards the hands. Either move the chevron up above the elbow or flip them. Minor tweak, great look.
CAROLINA: The dark gray instead of black is a miss for me. I would prefer a shade lighter if we’re doing gray or just go black. The logo again doesn’t say sports franchise to me. I see more clean-up vendor. Perhaps guys who install hurricane shutters.
LA: The sleeves are goofy, but fun enough to work. I like the colors. I’d like to see something on the shoulders given the team’s history and variety of past logos. Your choice in primary is nice. Given the primary is stroked in white I would like to see a thin white stripe perhaps breaking up the thick yellow stripe in the jersey.
VAN: *clap* *clap* just creative in all the right ways. Feels like the proper step forward in the team’s evolution.
MONT: Another really well balanced win. Perhaps an off-white or a pale cream color would give it more pop, but I think the choice of maroon works so well.
NJ: It’s a really good concept. The tweak to the logo really helps. The choice to go monochromatic is smart as the red and black feel dangerous without the white. The shoulder patches are wonderfully creative. Though, the team is named for the mythical Jersey devil rather than the red-hot’s guy type devil. But it is so well done.

The Blues Uni would work with the white with pants being white also.. I agree we need a team with purple as their color and the LA Kings need to go back to their roots.. Dallas Stars the Bull is COOL but get rid of the Star Trek symbol behind it and all would be NICE!

I agree that would be interesting, but to do it right I'd want to spend 3-4 hours on one concept and I just don't have that available free time at the moment. I would be sacrificing 4-5 video releases to do that.

You said the Montreal jersey goes into their roots because the M could be for Maroons or Montreal. That jersey basically looks like a mashup of every team that's been a localized rival of the Canadiens. The Maroons, the Nordiques and even the Quebec Bulldogs. The Maroons aren't really a part of Montreal Canadiens roots other than being their rival.

Hello Sir . Just wondering , what you think of the Quebec Nordiques' jerseys . I'm an old fart , go way back . My favorite teams have been the same for 40 + yrs . In order ; Brandon Wheat kings , Quebec Nordiques ( now Colorado Avalanche , of course ) , Winnipeg Blue Bombers , Montreal Expos , Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals .
