7:57 Neil, that is a kepi on the shoulder. Kepis were popular military hats in the 1800s, and both sides in the American Civil War used them (of course, I wouldn't expect you to know that as a Canadian). The blue jackets have used two logos with the kepi, I want to say mid 2000s-early 2010s. As a Pens fan and a Civil War history buff, using the kepi logo and just really leaning in to the Union Army brand in general would be a great idea for our Ohioan rivals.
This has to be the best group of concepts I've seen. Did just enough to make each jersey unique, but super dope. He knew how to work the colors and not to do too much. 👌

They used to sell them at Jackets games a long time ago, but I haven't seen one lately. They have the jerseys of players who are no longer with the Jackets on clearance, but I noticed when I was at last night's game they had not or were not putting David Savard's and Nick Foligno's jerseys on clearance. I guess they're afraid the Jackets might re-sign them in the off season. God forbid they'd give us a bargain. My favorite thing in the Jackets BlueLine store are the players game used sticks. Depending on the player, they sell for between $100 to $250.
As a flames fan, that flames concept was the first one I’ve seen that wasn’t an immediate ’no’ Those Dallas, Columbus and New jersey designs are fantastic as well

Of all the Carolina Hurricane jersey concepts that I’ve seen on the channel, this one is absolutely the best! The way the primary logo is slightly titled is perfect and I love the usage of the warning flags in the stripes. I wish the Carolina Hurricanes would actually use this jersey because it would look so good on the ice. Awesome job!
Would love to a full NHL concepts like the Vancouver one and now the Washington one. That would look amazing, just pick a day where all the teams wear something like that would be cool to see.
Would be sick if you dedicated a Wednesday or a Friday to doing some sort of NHL 21 series. Some ideas would be to do a Franchise Mode where you could act as a gm; pick team, make trades, draft, turn a bad team good, etc. Or another idea is to do a be a pro series. Just some ideas !
10:26 to be fair, it's close to the shade of blue they're using now on their pants... and maybe also a tribute to the Nordiques (similar-ish blue there)
The stars on the Chicago jersey are reminiscent of the stars on the flag for the City of Chicago. No one has thought of putting a major feature of the flag for the city on the uniform. I think it looks good
I also loved the Islanders jersey. I've been wanting to see the two tone shoulder design for 50 years and this guy pulled it off. I get your nitpick about them but other teams don't stretch that bottom stripe all the way across. See Bruins. But it's beautiful. It's nice to see a designer put some thought into a new concept for them. A winner.
Sharks and Coyotes are killer! Love the approach to both of them. the sleeves on AZ are so clever, and the use of different shades of teal on SJ really shows off the depths of the ocean!
That octopus patch on the Detroit jersey was more what had expected to be the logo of Seattle. I just can't get over why they went with an "S" with an eye that could be the eye of anything. Nothing about the logo says "Kraken", most of the other teams logo reflects the name (Lightning has a bolt, Panthers has a panther, Stars has a star, Kings has a crown etc).
This was a great set, but here's my personal top 5: 1. Detroit (I'm a hawks fan) 👾 2. New Jersey 3. New York 4. Washington 5. Montreal Honorable Mentions: - Toronto - Calgary - Chicago

The MTL jersey has some missed details (I assume). Maroon as the base colour is a reference to the Montreal Maroons, they played in the NHL from 1924 to 1938, winning the Stanley Cup in 1926 and 1935. The light blue is a reference to the Montreal Expos.
Anaheim: love the design but would prefer the orange over the eggplant. Arizona: love this jersey design and concept, would be interested in the purple coming in but overall absolutely love it the sleeves are amazing. i hope the coyotes stay. Columbus: chevrons on the sleeves is sick. Chicago: love the black with the cream striping boarding the red striping. Colorado: dig the mountains, but mostly happy to see the foot patch back Detroit: i’d love the stylized “D” with the cream colors more. Edmonton: love the oil drops on the sleeves. Florida: i love the tan. Minnesota: has one of the best logos in my opinion. i also love their script logo. don’t care too much for an all green look tho. Montreal: i dig that blueish striping and the cream white. New Jersey: as a flyers fan hate to say it but i do like this jersey. Nashville: again another amazing logo. i prefer the preds main to be yellow, so if the yellows and blues were swapped i’d dig it. New York Islanders: love it nothing negative to say. Ottawa: I prefer the “O” logo and the “sens” script. Philadelphia: my favorite team love the black and white stripes on the sleeves but loose the ones going down the middle of the jersey. Pittsburgh: yuck! go back to that baby blue but you’ll always suck cause you’re Pittsburgh. San Jose: dig the logo, more of the teal and balance it out with more black Toronto: Perfect with that cream. Vancouver: have never dig this color scheme but love the orcas on the arms. Vegas: i like the grey these are my highlights outta these concepts

that panthers jersey would make for a better preds jersey. all youd have to do is change the text to Nashville predators, and change the shoulder patches to guitar picks. and the tiger in the logo is even shaped like a guitar pick
I think this group of jerseys has the highest number of jerseys I really like, in comparison to other designers, even though I would prefer shoulder patches with symmetry. Overall, well done, Jason!
WOW! Alot of these are excellent! Reactions pt. 1 ANA: I love the colorization on the logo. I wouldn't think it would work like that but it does! Good tweak to their excellent 25th Anniversary Jerseys! ARI: Decent attempt to throw the State flag on there, different from what I've seen but I may be partial to the feint sublimated ones on the torsos from others. BOS: I like the simplified logo on the torso, but not a fan of the feint logos on the shoulders here. BUF: I love almost everything about this. Definitely in the Top 5 for me. but gotta have the current logo a bit bigger on the shoulder. CAR: Another one I really like, but I'm sensing a pattern with the 2 separate shoulder logos. I don't think the ALT logo looks particularly good on the shoulders but it is what it is. Another in the Top 5 for me. Love the skewing on the stripes. CBJ: I know Neil loves his Military nods. I think I love the collar looking like a legit old school military uniform collar but it just feels like it needs more to me. CGY: I enjoy the flames at the bottom of the sleeves. Little gimmicky but not at all bad for an alternate. Not a big fan of Blasty on the sleeves though. CHI: Not a fan of the shoulder logos, and its another Classic looking jersey from the Hawks. While it looks good, I think all the Winter Classics and Reverse Retros have me feeling uneasy about another old school Hawks design. COL: ANOTHER one I love. The Mountains at the bottom look great, one thing I would suggest however is don't actually make the mountains transparent in Photoshop and just use different shades of blue, there is one part that looks like the mountains are all just shadows... HOWEVER if that was what you were going for then nevermind! DAL: I like the attempt here, but the Gold, as much as I loved it in the Texas Stars AHL Team's look, not feeling it with the current Dallas branding. I do love me some stage gradients tho!
Reactions Pt. 2 DET: I would LOVE to see a Detroit jersey using the Octopus in a more prominent manner. I do think the off-white is a bit too dark for me to really enjoy this concept but I like the idea of the Octopus. EDM: HEY! I'm a fan of the oil drops on the sleeve stripes but that's probably because I did the same thing. XD Nice way to touch up a classic and I like the shoulder patches. FLA: I'm glad the Round Logo has made a comeback, especially wit the updated Leaping Panther head they have. A gold jersey is certainly different, but not a bad choice tbh. I know the Florida Flag is red but the slight red hue on the X in the stripes on the sleeves is a bit off-putting (much like this sentence turned out). Either go for it at that point or don't, but that's just my opinion. LAK: I like almost everything about this. The shoulder logos look really cool and unique (I think, I haven't seen it anywhere) but I think it would look better as the main crest... maybe because I'm not a fan of their old school logo. The sublimated designs are a nice touch and the striping just works for me. Solid. MIN: I'm a fan of the idea of the two-toned green look. I don't hate the red sun in the logo either, but something seems to be missing. Maybe it needs MORE red? I'm not sure. MTL: Almost just a recoloring but its not a bad look. A little more maroon than usual, and a brighter blue (maybe from their Winter Classic vs the Bruins?) along with off white makes it look like an old school version of their current uniforms and it looks nice. NJD: This just works. Dark, brooding, everything a "devil" should be. Not too similar to the team itself right now but I digress. Love the recolored logo and almost lack of most color. Haha. NSH: Not a fan of the collar, but the striping is unique enough to work for the "Guitar Strings Behind a Pick" look we've seen alot. It looks really good apart from the collar. NYI: The Navy and Dark Orange is different but works. I understand the template makes it hard to change the underarm mesh part, but it looks a bit rough under the arms there, and I've never really been a fan of any striping on the side of the torso, but that may just be a personal thing. NYR: I like the two-toned gold look, makes those particular parts stand out. Otherwise a pretty basic jersey with the Liberty Logo. Not bad but not world changing. OTT: LOVE this. May be my favorite, tbh. I wanted to use the sleeves like that but always forgot by time I got half way through my concepts. Again, not a fan of over using 2 different logos on the shoulders but it kinda works with this one. The angled stripes are great along with the arrows pointing in... Smallest gripe ever... but... The angle of the stripes are uneven with the shoulder angle and it kinda throws me off. Again, SUPER minor and they may actually be even, but from just looking at it they look a bit uneven. But overall its great! PHI: Essentially a better version of my remake. more burnt orange than Flyer orange but it does make it look like a throwback, and I like that. This is done super well, and better for mine, and because of that its not in my Top 5... I'm not jealous, lol. Seriously, this one is awesome. PIT: A current color version of their Blue Winter Classics. It works but I'm not a big fan of it in black and yellow. SJ: HEY! Another Stage Gradient Sharks jersey! I really think the Sharks need to go this route to showcase the whole "DEEP SEA" aspect, whether Jason's or mine or something similar... Not entirely sold on the sleeves being darker before going to a lighter gradient just to go dark again though. STL: Blue version of their Retros. Two-toned blue is ok but to me their shades don't work too well with this design. TBL: This would never work on the ice but I like the idea. Executed to near perfection. TOR: The off-white still looks too dark, and almost looks like the Drake gold from the Raptors uniforms... I think the Leaf shoulder patch works better than the "TM" logo imo. I like the addition of the Leaf outlines in the stripe at the bottom. VAN: The Skate logo in green and blue is interesting, but I hate the Red, Yellow, and black laces despite liking the idea. Also not sure about the Orcas on the stripes. Idk, this one feels like the only real miss to me. VGK: Pretty sure we've seen this look before, and while its not bad, its just sort of average. WPG: I like the logo, like the striping, hate the sublimated logo under the collar, and the blue patch ON the collar. Some good ideas but some not so good ones as well. WSH: A SUPER old school look for the Capitals. Its done well! Not my favorite but I definitely could see this in a Winter Classic. Overall VERY good designs. Excited to see more from Jason! Top 5: 1. Ottawa, 2. Carolina, 3. Buffalo, 4. Colorado, 5. Los Angeles
I definitely would like this more if the jersey had used a standard white instead of using off white. But overall it's a design the addition of the octopus is cool
Question. Whenever you get a new jersey, say from coolhockey, do you put it in the washing machine or just don't wash it? I have a few new jerseys and I'm just wondering if I wash them.
Same here, never washed the ones I just wear in the house... I only wash jerseys I use for actually "playing" (and, I mean not all geared up, just for fun, "chel" style, I guess we say). If you have to, turn them inside out and do a normal cycle, watch out to not throw a white with coloured jersey and you should be fine. AH, AND DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE DRYER! That's all
I cant agree with the gripe of using green on the inside of the collar because YOU CAN'T SEE IT. Thats the one of the points of having anything on the inside of the collar. Having a cool extra design on a jersey that wouldnt necessarily fit on the outside that hearkens back to history of the team or city

the Caps jersey reminds me of Washingtons old baseball team that became the MN twins. same colors as the twins. these were all fantastic. great vid :)

DAL: I like the attempt here, but the Gold, as much as I loved it in the Texas Stars AHL Team's look, not feeling it with the current Dallas branding. I do love me some stage gradients tho!
Reactions Pt. 2
DET: I would LOVE to see a Detroit jersey using the Octopus in a more prominent manner. I do think the off-white is a bit too dark for me to really enjoy this concept but I like the idea of the Octopus.
EDM: HEY! I'm a fan of the oil drops on the sleeve stripes but that's probably because I did the same thing. XD Nice way to touch up a classic and I like the shoulder patches.
FLA: I'm glad the Round Logo has made a comeback, especially wit the updated Leaping Panther head they have. A gold jersey is certainly different, but not a bad choice tbh. I know the Florida Flag is red but the slight red hue on the X in the stripes on the sleeves is a bit off-putting (much like this sentence turned out). Either go for it at that point or don't, but that's just my opinion.
LAK: I like almost everything about this. The shoulder logos look really cool and unique (I think, I haven't seen it anywhere) but I think it would look better as the main crest... maybe because I'm not a fan of their old school logo. The sublimated designs are a nice touch and the striping just works for me. Solid.
MIN: I'm a fan of the idea of the two-toned green look. I don't hate the red sun in the logo either, but something seems to be missing. Maybe it needs MORE red? I'm not sure.
MTL: Almost just a recoloring but its not a bad look. A little more maroon than usual, and a brighter blue (maybe from their Winter Classic vs the Bruins?) along with off white makes it look like an old school version of their current uniforms and it looks nice.
NJD: This just works. Dark, brooding, everything a "devil" should be. Not too similar to the team itself right now but I digress. Love the recolored logo and almost lack of most color. Haha.
NSH: Not a fan of the collar, but the striping is unique enough to work for the "Guitar Strings Behind a Pick" look we've seen alot. It looks really good apart from the collar.
NYI: The Navy and Dark Orange is different but works. I understand the template makes it hard to change the underarm mesh part, but it looks a bit rough under the arms there, and I've never really been a fan of any striping on the side of the torso, but that may just be a personal thing.
NYR: I like the two-toned gold look, makes those particular parts stand out. Otherwise a pretty basic jersey with the Liberty Logo. Not bad but not world changing.
OTT: LOVE this. May be my favorite, tbh. I wanted to use the sleeves like that but always forgot by time I got half way through my concepts. Again, not a fan of over using 2 different logos on the shoulders but it kinda works with this one. The angled stripes are great along with the arrows pointing in... Smallest gripe ever... but... The angle of the stripes are uneven with the shoulder angle and it kinda throws me off. Again, SUPER minor and they may actually be even, but from just looking at it they look a bit uneven. But overall its great!
PHI: Essentially a better version of my remake. more burnt orange than Flyer orange but it does make it look like a throwback, and I like that. This is done super well, and better for mine, and because of that its not in my Top 5... I'm not jealous, lol. Seriously, this one is awesome.
PIT: A current color version of their Blue Winter Classics. It works but I'm not a big fan of it in black and yellow.
SJ: HEY! Another Stage Gradient Sharks jersey! I really think the Sharks need to go this route to showcase the whole "DEEP SEA" aspect, whether Jason's or mine or something similar... Not entirely sold on the sleeves being darker before going to a lighter gradient just to go dark again though.
STL: Blue version of their Retros. Two-toned blue is ok but to me their shades don't work too well with this design.
TBL: This would never work on the ice but I like the idea. Executed to near perfection.
TOR: The off-white still looks too dark, and almost looks like the Drake gold from the Raptors uniforms... I think the Leaf shoulder patch works better than the "TM" logo imo. I like the addition of the Leaf outlines in the stripe at the bottom.
VAN: The Skate logo in green and blue is interesting, but I hate the Red, Yellow, and black laces despite liking the idea. Also not sure about the Orcas on the stripes. Idk, this one feels like the only real miss to me.
VGK: Pretty sure we've seen this look before, and while its not bad, its just sort of average.
WPG: I like the logo, like the striping, hate the sublimated logo under the collar, and the blue patch ON the collar. Some good ideas but some not so good ones as well.
WSH: A SUPER old school look for the Capitals. Its done well! Not my favorite but I definitely could see this in a Winter Classic.
Overall VERY good designs. Excited to see more from Jason!

Question. Whenever you get a new jersey, say from coolhockey, do you put it in the washing machine or just don't wash it? I have a few new jerseys and I'm just wondering if I wash them.

Same here, never washed the ones I just wear in the house... I only wash jerseys I use for actually "playing" (and, I mean not all geared up, just for fun, "chel" style, I guess we say).
If you have to, turn them inside out and do a normal cycle, watch out to not throw a white with coloured jersey and you should be fine. AH, AND DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE DRYER! That's all
I cant agree with the gripe of using green on the inside of the collar because YOU CAN'T SEE IT. Thats the one of the points of having anything on the inside of the collar. Having a cool extra design on a jersey that wouldnt necessarily fit on the outside that hearkens back to history of the team or city
